    The 5 minute late thing is definitely a perk about Walmart; as long as you reasonably can deliver within the hour you can proceed with the delivery but you are also considered on time if you are up to 15 minutes late; and you have to be "on time" (meaning no more than 15 minutes late) 65% of the time. So you can usually squeeze in a DD or Uber if a good one comes.

    Under the listed options there is a link in red for “more options” and you can select handed to customer there. When stuck go to driver help and it will either let you mark a package as delivered or can call CS and they can mark as delivered.

    Hey my advice on being late is how you view it. They allow you to get there 15 min early but 5 minutes late. So basically, if your block is at 4:15, see it as you start at 4:00, and have 20 minutes until you’re late. (This has saved me from being late so many times as I’m about 45 minutes to an hour away from sub same day station)

  • @MissShaneice
    @MissShaneice 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Yea, I had far deliveries before. I remember for an AMZL block, the warehouse didn't have enough packages for everyone. So, they gave each driver 1 package. Delivery distance was like 45 mins away, but the pay was decent. Of course the drive back home was maybe 15 mins plus that 45 mins. Sighs. That was a rare occurrence, but I didn't mind it. The customer was nice to. He offered me a soda, and he took his package. Shoutout to Darnell in your warehouse!

    What I hate about Amazon is depending on the warehouse I go to theres connectivity issues. There was a time I couldn’t check in even though I was at the warehouse on time because the app was going slow and literally just four minutes into the shift they canceled it and put it on my standings, and they don’t compensate you for the drive either, so unless you find a replacement block, which they typically don’t do for me, you would’ve driven all those miles to the warehouse for nothing.

    Hey, Mike! I appreciate your videos. I am just now getting into driving gigs. I applied for Flex today and was told they don't need anyone in my area. I live in Houston, TX! There are several warehouses within a few miles of me. But when the app asked me where I wanted to deliver, I entered the zip code where I live. But of course I'm willing to go out of my zip code! Do you know of any way to re-apply for more areas? Or is this just typical?

    Oh man, it was not leisurely for me here in Portland Oregon. I had a flex that took me out to west Lynn where there are gated ranches everywhere and no codes or instructions. It took me 4 hours to deliver a 2.5 hour flex. I also almost got attacked by dogs several times on that shift. 😅 It was the last flex I ever did. I prefer spark for the same kind of ease and pay is comparable.

      Locked gate, no code? I place the package inside the gate if possible, if not then next to the gate. Take a picture and I’m gone. If they don’t like it, either don’t lock the gates give a code. Simple.

    Yes there is always eyes watching. I hate ones that wait on me. I like ones I leave at door. Some of customers are rude. I just started and don't know how to sort the packages properly yet. Food deliveries and rideshare isn't this stressful.

    • @redseven0079
      @redseven0079 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can scan each package and it'll tell you the Stop #. Some warehouses only have the AAAA BBBB ETC driver aids that suck.
      Once you get your cart and you're ready to load, go to the stop list, scroll ALL the way up, there's a search bar on the top with the barcode picture, click the picture.
      It'll open up your camera , scan the barcode , it'll show cus info/stop #, sort your packages that way. Load your first 15-20 packages in the passenger seat, everything else in the trunk.
      Once the passenger seat is empty, bring package numbers 16-30, etc whatever will fit in the passenger seat.
      Hope this helps!

    Anytime I pull into the warehouse loading zone and see that my cart has only like 1 or 2 bins as opposed to 4 or 5 bins, I know its one of the dreaded rural routes and I am going to be putting 80-100 miles on my car. I hate rural routes and I wish amazon would be transparent about these before we take a block. Everytime I get one I rethink my decision to do Flex

    Hello, only been once. They weren't forgiving. The 3.5hr blocks I've taken, only two recently, paid $98. I've noticed that these blocks have about the same number of packages as 3hr, but the first drop is further away. One was at the edge of the delivery area for that warehouse, 30 min away. The other was 15 min. Also, for both blocks, the final delivery was an outlier, taking from 15 to 30 min. As to the navigation, they recently added a "new" warehouse to my area and when you look at the map, it shows your position as being in a field behind the building when you are in the loading area. I say "new" because this warehouse was originally "same day delivery" and was shut during COVID. It has reopened as a regular warehouse.

  • @ray-Bolantah
    @ray-Bolantah 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    How do you know when a new flex warehouse is about to open or when it opens near you.
    Because I have a fulfillment center 10 min away from home, but i have to drive 45 minutes to get to my nearest flex warehouse.
    Just wondering the possibilities of the fulfillment center 10 min away might turn into a delivery station in the future. Or they might be already in the process of bulging a new flex warehouse closer to home.
