Help!! I finally got mine, but I can’t get any sound out of it whatsoever! I’ve got all the knobs set to mid range on both the amp and the software, but no matter where I set the volume or any of the knobs and no matter what setting I select (clean, crunch, etc) I get no sound. I know the amp is getting a signal from the guitar because the tuner lights dance when I hit a string. Am I missing something? Doing something wrong? Help?

AJ Mark I just got mine yesterday, July 28th, I had my hip replaced last week so I’m not real mobile yet, I’m hoping it will give good sounding backing tracks for my acoustic blue’s I’ve been chipping away at finger style, I’m not all that good but love to play, my Spark came UPS, I ordered on May 30th.
Fyi. Great job. A representative at SPARK actually sent me a link to this video to get me familiar with the product. So that is a pretty good endorsement to what you are doing.

I ordered mine May 4th and just got a notification yesterday from FedEx that they picked up a package that'll be delivered Wednesday. It was picked up in a suburb of LA called Santa Fe Springs. No notification from Positive Grid yet, but this wouldn't be the first time somebody got their Spark without hearing from PG. Got my fingers crossed. And thanks a ton for this video, it's going to come in very handy, very soon!

After I canceled my order out of delay frustration in May, PG sent me an email a month ago begging for another chance because the units were "in stock and ready to ship". I thought, sure, everyone needs a shot at redemption. It just came today (a month later), LOL. OK, so I'm not blown away, but it doesn't suck either. I'm just a basement hacker, so if I can get four good tones for my hacky playing, I'll sell my Kemper. Maybe. I do wish the interface was as flexible as Bias FX. I'd like to rearrange the stomps, maybe split the chain, double up on delays. Right now it's so rigid (That's what she said).

Hello, honestly this amp has been really hyped up, I had to wait for mine for 4 months. Of course I had really high expectactions about it because all the videos from other youtubers saying how amazing this amp was. Most of the functions of this app have a delay when switching in between distortions either doing manual controls or through the phone app. I think i had more fun jamming with my line6 amp. Keep up the great videos!
Bought mine oct 14th, received it October 19th. Thing sounds amazing. I'm blown away. I was worried I'd have to wait longer to get it. It SAID it wasn't even supposed to SHIP until I think oct 24th... not bad considering there's a global pandemic... that said... here in Nova Scotia, we played it smart. Virtually zero Covid. Maybe that helped this get here faster?

I appreciate the tutorial, and it highlights that this app sucks. I can have flanger, chorus, phaser, or EQ, but none of those at the same time. It means you'll only be able to create the most basic tones, and they will nearly all be lacking in some significant aspect.
I ordered TWO of these July 7th and just got ONE of them on July 31st. Actually, that's better than most complaints I have heard about Positive Grid. But, the website indicated that my amplifier would be shipped somewhere around August 17th and so I'm scratching my head wondering whether that meant my second amplifier? Customer service for this company is marginal, and it really doesn't make me want to deal with them after I receive my second amplifier. However, the little bit that I've played with the amp itself sounds pretty nice. I plan to use it for recording. The Steve Stine demo showed him using the headphone jack. Little has been shown using the USB plug in.
Great video bro. Learned a lot from it. Even just the little nifty tricks like up and down vs circular motions for the knobs. You gave a great breakdown of everything and explained very nice with a great tv presence.
I finally got the Spark and love the features on it, but the sound has too much bass on any given tone. It has a boxy sound and also sounds muffled, almost like a blanket/pillow is over the speaker. Spent a lot of time trying to tinker tones/effects to make it sound clear and brighter (using a strat) and still no go. It is bad enough to where it may be a return/sell for me despite the killer features it carries.
Most EXCELLENT video. One question. Is that ANY way, say in a given effects chain to replace an effect with a different effect? For example instead of the Noise Gate at the front, you wanted the Graphic EQ? And for that matter, can you build an effects chain from scratch with whatever effects (pedals) and amp you want in any order? TIA.

I bought a used Spark 40 last week. I have the app on my phone, but I want all that on a bigger screen that isn't on my phone. I can't get the app on my laptop so it looks like I need to go out and buy a iPad/Tablet now to do this.
After watching all the reviews, you had the best and most honest! I was wondering if you put the amp on a clean tone, could you add a pedal to it? Or will it not work like that? Thxs
Ordered mine on Sunday (Oct 16th) it arrived today. I guess the long turnaround isn't an issue anymore. The one thing they could have done was let me know it shipped, all I got was a notification from UPS that something was shipped from a business number
YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE THIS!!! I've been waiting since last September for my product. They had sent it to an old address even though they were told and were to change the shipping label. They had assured me that it had been changed. Not so! The Fedex tracking showed that they still sent it to the old address and it disappeared. After much gnashing of teeth they agreed to send out a replacement. The tracking system once again showed that it was delivered--TO THE OLD ADDRESS AGAIN!!!! Luckily I had a feeling that they are sooooo inept in the service department that I had given the new tenant there a heads up and he called me. I went and retrieved it last week and have not yet tried it out. Damn this effin thing better be worth it. I cannot tell you how bad their service delivery system is. No body knows anything! You get 3 different stories from the same person, then another entire set of answers when someone else jumps in. Just CRAZY!!!!
Yeah they definitely don’t seemed to be well equipped to deal in a physical product! That’s quite a saga! Good on you for being able to get it yourself! It’s hard to get excited about something after all of that!
Great video! I got mine a month ago. It would be nice if it had pre-out to by pass the internal amp and use powered monitors or larger head amp. Other than that, it sounds great and has plenty of features.
Question if I may... the amp models on the left knob. Are they totally independent of the 4 presets? Say I click preset 4 which might be super high gain plus phaser, and then turn the amp knob to a clean amp - what changes please? Eg would the phaser stay on? Thanks in advance
Just got a Spark and your video really helped. Hope you can answer a question for me: What takes president, the knobs on the top of the amp or the presets in the app on my phone? So, for example, I am playing a preset. Then, I turn the tone knob (top left) or hit one of the preset buttons on the top right of the amp. The tone changes. Am I playing the presets on the app until I make a physical change on the amp? And say, for instance I am playing a preset on the amp, and then I switch to the app. How do I get back to where I was with the preset on the amp? Thanks.
I use mostly the app but it does respond to some of the controls on the top of the amp. When you turn say the bass knob on the amp you then see it turning in the app. Does that help? Would love to have you subscribe if not already! Welcome to the family! 🎸🤘🏻

Sorry - I’m just a TH-cam part timer and not good at tech support. I know nothing about android stuff. Likely the OS on your tablet is old and if you can’t update it you will have to use your phone.
Is there a instruction video that includes step by step of getting the guitar all the way to being able to use presets and how it all works for dummies that no nothing at all about the functions and terms such as extensions and I mean everything is visited in a way that would be if it was a tutorial. Please; my friend really would need this and do you absolutely need to run the amplifiers software through the studio one program

Hello, honestly this amp has been really hyped up, I had to wait for mine for 4 months. Of course I had really high expectactions about it because all the videos from other youtubers saying how amazing this amp was. Most of the functions of this app have a delay when switching in between distortions either doing manual controls or through the phone app. I think i had more fun jamming with my line6 amp. Keep up the great videos!

Bought mine oct 14th, received it October 19th. Thing sounds amazing. I'm blown away. I was worried I'd have to wait longer to get it. It SAID it wasn't even supposed to SHIP until I think oct 24th... not bad considering there's a global pandemic... that said... here in Nova Scotia, we played it smart. Virtually zero Covid. Maybe that helped this get here faster?

I appreciate the tutorial, and it highlights that this app sucks. I can have flanger, chorus, phaser, or EQ, but none of those at the same time. It means you'll only be able to create the most basic tones, and they will nearly all be lacking in some significant aspect.
Well I can’t argue the point that it lacks slot flexibility for sure. But the tones being made with this are great.
FYI, I ordered my Spark on April 25th and it came on July 22nd -- 88 days later. For what it does for the price, it was totally worth the wait.

I ordered TWO of these July 7th and just got ONE of them on July 31st. Actually, that's better than most complaints I have heard about Positive Grid.
But, the website indicated that my amplifier would be shipped somewhere around August 17th and so I'm scratching my head wondering whether that meant my second amplifier?
Customer service for this company is marginal, and it really doesn't make me want to deal with them after I receive my second amplifier.
However, the little bit that I've played with the amp itself sounds pretty nice. I plan to use it for recording. The Steve Stine demo showed him using the headphone jack.
Little has been shown using the USB plug in.
When I use one of these smart amps as a usb interface it kills my studio monitor so I can’t hear what I’m playing.
Great video bro. Learned a lot from it. Even just the little nifty tricks like up and down vs circular motions for the knobs. You gave a great breakdown of everything and explained very nice with a great tv presence.

I finally got the Spark and love the features on it, but the sound has too much bass on any given tone. It has a boxy sound and also sounds muffled, almost like a blanket/pillow is over the speaker. Spent a lot of time trying to tinker tones/effects to make it sound clear and brighter (using a strat) and still no go. It is bad enough to where it may be a return/sell for me despite the killer features it carries.
A lot of people have said that. To be honest I’ve not really spent enough time with it yet to have an opinion

One question. Is that ANY way, say in a given effects chain to replace an effect with a different effect? For example instead of the Noise Gate at the front, you wanted the Graphic EQ?
And for that matter, can you build an effects chain from scratch with whatever effects (pedals) and amp you want in any order?

No you have to follow the order of the chain but you can still do a lot

I bought a used Spark 40 last week. I have the app on my phone, but I want all that on a bigger screen that isn't on my phone. I can't get the app on my laptop so it looks like I need to go out and buy a iPad/Tablet now to do this.

Thanks! Yes you can put pedals in front. Specific to dirt, fuzz and distortion work better than overdrive, clean boost types

YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE THIS!!! I've been waiting since last September for my product. They had sent it to an old address even though they were told and were to change the shipping label. They had assured me that it had been changed. Not so! The Fedex tracking showed that they still sent it to the old address and it disappeared. After much gnashing of teeth they agreed to send out a replacement. The tracking system once again showed that it was delivered--TO THE OLD ADDRESS AGAIN!!!! Luckily I had a feeling that they are sooooo inept in the service department that I had given the new tenant there a heads up and he called me. I went and retrieved it last week and have not yet tried it out. Damn this effin thing better be worth it. I cannot tell you how bad their service delivery system is. No body knows anything! You get 3 different stories from the same person, then another entire set of answers when someone else jumps in. Just CRAZY!!!!
Yeah they definitely don’t seemed to be well equipped to deal in a physical product! That’s quite a saga! Good on you for being able to get it yourself! It’s hard to get excited about something after all of that!
Great video! I got mine a month ago. It would be nice if it had pre-out to by pass the internal amp and use powered monitors or larger head amp. Other than that, it sounds great and has plenty of features.

Question if I may... the amp models on the left knob. Are they totally independent of the 4 presets? Say I click preset 4 which might be super high gain plus phaser, and then turn the amp knob to a clean amp - what changes please? Eg would the phaser stay on? Thanks in advance
All would stay the same except the amp model. That’s a great question!
Just got a Spark and your video really helped. Hope you can answer a question for me: What takes president, the knobs on the top of the amp or the presets in the app on my phone? So, for example, I am playing a preset. Then, I turn the tone knob (top left) or hit one of the preset buttons on the top right of the amp. The tone changes. Am I playing the presets on the app until I make a physical change on the amp? And say, for instance I am playing a preset on the amp, and then I switch to the app. How do I get back to where I was with the preset on the amp? Thanks.
I use mostly the app but it does respond to some of the controls on the top of the amp. When you turn say the bass knob on the amp you then see it turning in the app. Does that help? Would love to have you subscribe if not already! Welcome to the family! 🎸🤘🏻

Sorry - I’m just a TH-cam part timer and not good at tech support. I know nothing about android stuff. Likely the OS on your tablet is old and if you can’t update it you will have to use your phone.
Is there a instruction video that includes step by step of getting the guitar all the way to being able to use presets and how it all works for dummies that no nothing at all about the functions and terms such as extensions and I mean everything is visited in a way that would be if it was a tutorial. Please; my friend really would need this and do you absolutely need to run the amplifiers software through the studio one program
