Hello Guys, OMG what a terrified night you had, even I scared when i watch video, Thank God you all are safe. Waiting for your next amazing video. Take care and Have a Safe Journey 💗
Hey there Mehu! 😱 Yeah, that night was a bit more adventurous than we bargained for, but all's well that ends well, right 🙏 Thanks for sticking with us through the twists and turns! I just uploaded our new episode sailing from Mallorca to Bonifacio!! Enjoy!! 🌊⛵ Have a very Merry Christmas and big hugs x
Such quick thinking hey… John absolutely saved the day here; and lucky we had the JY55 with the thrusters!!!! So grateful for this outcome. It could have been… so different! Cheers for the support Jits!!!! 🥰
I have in the past shouted at a boat going past that narrowly missed us "so sorry it must be me dragging upwind" . The score for me stands at two successfull insurance claims - pursued by my insurance company - against boats that dragged into my boat and a number of near misses. Only a couple of those instances were in the med, but it's definitely a feature of the meds more subscribed anchorages. I love the south Pacific!
Isn't alway the simplest thing that are the hardest to figure out sometimes because you don't think to take a second look , oh well it happens to us all😂😂❤❤❤
A confused, drunk (potentially), naked guy dosent realise his boat is dragging 😂😂😂. Is this something alot of yachties contend woth or are you guys just lucky ?? Keep up the great work, appreciate all the effort you guys put in for our entertainment / education. 😊
Haha, oh the joys of yacht life! 😂 It seems like we stumbled upon a unique situation, but you'd be surprised how many interesting moments can unfold on the water. While not everyone encounters a confused, potentially tipsy, and naked boat-dragging situation!! LOL. Thanks for the love and support - always trying to share the highs and lows of sailing life. Welcome to the med, hit 50 knots coming around that point last year. Had a 65 foot Amel drag onto us in 65 knots in Calvi. The med is unpredictable but still what an experience… good luck
Kristina excellent video capturing the insane almost collision.By the way any news on that boat that kept drifting? As John and Kelly got to enjoy the beautiful sites while you were stuck on board editing I will give a SHOUT OUT 11 to you for such an amazing job you do putting your You Tube into reality or a viewers dream wish list. Looking forward to next video take care
I’m French (living in Oz) and you made me laugh so much with Quatre Vents 😂 it soumds as if you were saying 80 (quatre vingt) haha same same but différent 😂
Oh but they do... Siemens D breakers in a humid garage will trip if not used for a while with inductive loads, and ladybugs will get into the larger ones and cause frying and tripping. However, any CB that trips should be investigated.
@@andregermain2833 what you are describing are fault conditions where the CB is doing what it’s designed to do. If the ‘inductive load’ is not being used there is no load, humidity is likely creating a circuit and thus a fault condition. Like I said, circuit breakers don’t just trip
Hey guys, this is hull #1, so there are always little things that happen on a brand new boat, especially when its a brand new design. We didn't have any other issues with it, but Jeanneau can investigate further at the end of the trip :)
@@Corey-pd3mi It's lived conditions at two farms of mine - if I don't use the equipment on those CBs for months, they'll pop twice in a row in the first seconds then are good for hours and days of use. The CBs are properly rated for the inrush of these inductive loads. Only Siemens D CBs do this to me over 35 years.
@@andregermain2833 😂 Let me guess, it’s a home made job and you got your electrical qualifications down on the farm too. The fact remains, the CB trips because there is excess current outside the characteristics of the installed CB, the problem is not the CB, it’s doing what it’s designed to do. If it’s an electro-mechanical load it’s likely binding up somewhat when left idol, so when you do turn it on it draws abnormal current for too long until it frees itself up properly. Also, not all D curve CB’s have the same trip characteristics, if you believe it’s not a load issue and only that specific CB trips why would you continue using it over 35yrs, clearly it’s not suited to the application 🤦♂️
Great video, glad you picked up the camera to capture that event. If you didn't have a bow thruster could you not have backed down on the engine and turned to port? Just wondering?
we chartered out first boat with me as captain last summer in BVI...and I quickly realized you are at the mercy of quite a few people who have no idea what they are doing!
I think that the boat name is a pun, if I understand correctly: Quatre-vingts and quatre vents sound the same, but the first means "eighty" and the ladder means "four winds" in French.
That's horrible krys 😲 at first it was too dark and didn't see what was really going on, John was amazingly in focus though it's really hard when u cant see everything in the dark, sometimes you just felt your moving awkward, but somehow we learned another disaster's adventure i hate to say sometimes its connected in our journey, but anyway fun is not yet over, glad to see you back in ur outrageous events again krys and tank you for sharing all those things to us, we wanted to experience same thing but i belong to those sickly person,.. But in your video it feels like i was there with u, so thank u very much for all those lovely videos❤we watched pls say hello to John k tnks.. Pls stay fit and healthy both f u😎
To be open to the four winds is said of a place through which the wind circulates in all directions and to be housed to the four winds means to live in a poorly sheltered dwelling, exposed on all sides. And , in tbe bible it is said "after these things I saw four angels standing in the four corners of the earth, restraining the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree".
Hi there, discovered you guys yesterday, binge watched all until late last night. Absolutely love watching you guys, it's full circle for me. Four winds. In Europe and Asia minor there are names for every prevailing wind at each region you may be from each of the cardinal directions. For example, in South East Greece the North wind is called Bonnetti, but I am not sure if this is a Greek word or Latin (Italian). Safe travels.
Never heard of Bonnetti and sailed that part of the med for many years. Is that Italian for the Meltemi which is the prevailing north easterly that blows thru greece and turkey in summer. Mistral is the wind that blows down the rhone valley to the french coast.
Is it possible that in one of the future videos you can show what the captain's cabin looks like. That is, the small extra sleeping space out in the bow. None of the presentation videos show this and I would be super happy if you could show what it is like. Thank you so much for great videos.
Just curious.. why not have a very bright flashlight.. big one if possible so you can light up the boat/area? Looked very dark and hard to see anything.
Im surprised a yacht at that price point does not use radar/sonar alarms set to different distances to alarm you....! I don't anything SNEAKING up on me without a early warning!
Nothing fun about it! It's such a weird feeling.. tired.. shocked.. annoyed.. but GRATEFUL! Haha.. only because we managed to get out of this sticky situation.. but you're right.. dealing with ignorance from a dragging vessel is the worst!!

Yeah it looks like you dodged a bullet. 😊
Is it possible that in one of the future videos you can show what the captain's cabin looks like. That is, the small extra sleeping space out in the bow. None of the presentation videos show this and I would be super happy if you could show what it is like.
Thank you so much for great videos.

Nothing worse than waking to a stressful situation in the early hours of the morning, and then dealing with ignorance from a dragging vessel
Nothing fun about it! It's such a weird feeling.. tired.. shocked.. annoyed.. but GRATEFUL! Haha.. only because we managed to get out of this sticky situation.. but you're right.. dealing with ignorance from a dragging vessel is the worst!!
