The great thing with rattan and hard cane baskets is a spray of water is beneficial to offset brittleness. So go ahead and give a good wash (not extended soaking) 11:13 Great for the cane furniture too.

A tip for bringing a tape measure with you when you go thrifting: get some of the paper ones that are in like Ikea and fold them, put them in your purse and it takes up barely any space!
