My father was Clyde Lear but he was known as Pots. He grew up in Sweet Springs. He had a restaurant there during prohibition. He brewed his own beer and ran a poker game in the back room. He was famous for 5 cent hamburgers. He also worked in the shoe factory and was a barber. We would go there to visit relatives. I drank the famous water when I was a kid once but I didn’t like it.
I moved here going on 10 years ago. I love this town and the people. I feel blessed to be here.
I'm glad to see people from my home town fixing and restoration the downtown of Sweet Springs
