Thanks for watching, y'all!!
RusH is composed of 3 compulsive perfectionist, and genuine good people that do not have any the ego trips that have lead to the demise of many successful bands.
Truly GREAT musicians that are also truly great friends.... Resulting in some of the cleanest, tightest most amazing music ever made.
The entire album is INCREDIBLE from start to finish.
One of my favorite Rush albums. Natural Science is a masterpiece!
Rush did say that Yes was one of their influences as Rush were influences to many other bands. Rush inducted Yes into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the bass player for Yes, his name escapes at this time had passed so when they played at the ceremony Geddy Lee filled in. Alex does have that wonderful distinctive tone. Cheers
The bass legend Chris Squire. Geddy took many pages from him. Such as the Rickenbacker Bass
@@scottshields113 Thanks. Yes we're amazing!

@@2869may You are so right!
That bass player you are referring to is Chris Squire, he was probably the most aggressive, up-front, dominating bassist in rock. Geddy sought to capture that scary , growling rickenbacher tone and he may be the only bassist that achieved it. So Geddy was the ONLY guy that could have stepped into Chris's giant shoes, Lol!!
Leave it to Neil Peart to write a song about a thunderstorm building in the summer sky only to be followed by the beauty of the sun beams bursting through the clouds as the storm begins to subside, and make it sound like a masterpiece! With that being said, I hope you'll consider reacting to "Natural Science" by Rush. It's an absolute banger of a song with VERY deep lyrics, for instance: "The most endangered species? The honest man". I absolutely love "Jacobs Ladder" but I think "Natural Science" is even better!
This is one of the most masterful compositions they created. It's sublime.
Those drums! Neil! The man! An awesome song! Rush never disappoints. 👍
Rush could play music about anything and make it exciting.. even the weather.. and Neil enjoyed learning about many things about nature.. he loved meteorology.
Natural science should follow this one :P
I was bopping my head right along with you, Josh!!! 🤩
*RUSH RULES!!!*
💜💫✌🏼🎵
Please... React to MORE Rush! 🙏🏼
I agree, but it’s a hard song to Bop to unless you listen to it a few hundred times like I have you’re going to get a few bops in the wrong place! I just imagine them learning this and being high in the studio together trying to get the rhythms right for the synchronized intro and screwing up and laughing at each other and starting over again and again… But knowing them they probably nailed it on the first try :-)
@@michaelkeller6223 Oh, darlin' I've listened to EVERY Rush album a MILLION TIMES!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
@@michaelkeller6223 Fun Fact:
I know every word, to every song, on every album - in order. I've almost always been surrounded by men who pretty much lose their minds sitting next to me - in disbelief! (As I stand the whole concert, singing along to every song! I also cry at the end of every concert.) Unfortunately, my mom threw out all of my concert stubs so, I've lost count of exactly how many shows. I believe I'm somewhere around 130+ shows? I've loved them and ONLY THEM for 40+ years. 😉 #RushOn
peace and love from CANADA!!
There are moments in this song where time signatures alternate back and forth every other measure. The intro is 5/4 and 6/4, there’s another passage of 6/8 and 7/8, and then there’s that insanely syncopated part right before the last two lines of lyrics. It doesn’t get any tighter.
One of my favorite Rush songs. Always loved the riff at 6:46, becuase it’s in odd time and how Neil adds the little China hits in the background and then jumps in full force. Natural Science from this same album is a masterpiece and is my favorite Rush song.
One of their best records for sure. This is where the Rush identity became clear. They were on their way to create some of the finest music ever put to tape
Such an amazing song. One of my top 5 Rush tunes.
Thanks for doing this. And thank you for getting it!
Alex Lifeson.... THE Guitar God !!!!
🎸🐐
There's a GREAT video for this From the channel Still Kickin....!!!
Other RusH songs as well.
I love that video.
@@EmVea419 It's a really well done video...
At times it seems to be timed perfectly...!
Whoot Whoot! I love this song! More Rush please! 🇨🇦🍁❤
The way the guitar screams at 2:28, it is epic, I’m going to say it…. Yes, the best guitar sound ever!!! It just cries and asks for more… the texture is unsurpassed and un replicated
My favorite album and the best song on the album
Rush and Yes both formed in 1968. Not sure Rush were influenced by Yes.
Have you done anything from Counterparts? Animate, Cut To The Chase, or Cold Fire would be fun
*Woo Hoo!!!*
#RushOn 💜💫✌🏼🎵
MASTERPIECEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Yes influence to a degree but remember Rush are a 3 piece and Yes were a 5/6 piece member group so different dynamics apply - also at this point Rush were moving away from the overblown long winded stuff to shorter sharper more modern prog numbers which was probably ahead of Yes at this point stylistically. You'd never get Yes doing a catchy 5 minute radio friendly song like "Spirit of Radio" .
You like all these influences? You should try Spock’s Beard - specifically Thoughts pt 2
Awwsome
Synth foot pedals rock don't they :) Both Alex and Geddy played them. also Rush sure likes 7/8 time !
There's an obscure progressive group from the 70's that would be interesting to you I believe. The Flower Kings album "Back in the World of Adventures" opening track, "World of Adventures". Thanks for more Rush!

Great reaction sir! Please react to Rush - By-Tor And The Snow Dog studio version
They are one of the bands where it’s really hard to find a bad song. Why is that? Because they don’t have any.
King cremson The song Three Of A Perfect Pair.
Great reaction to an amazing song! I'd like to recommend an earlier Rush track off of Fly By Night. It is called "In The End". It has a nice soft acoustic intro and turns into a bit of a rocker with some killer guitar work by Alex. I think you'll dig it and it will show another side of the band to you.

No no!!! Yes was influenced by Rush make no mistake about it.
Oh come on man. It’s only some of the best music you will ever hear. Stop making such a big deal about it. RUSH? yeah, YES? ok. It’s only Rock and Roll right? Ha ha! I had to get my self righteousness out of my system for the night. We were right all along!
Indisputable validation. Not that we ever needed it, it’s just nice to hear.
Rush is Rush nothing to do with Yes.
Rush are unique, no one like them.
This song>>>> Incredibly underwhelming.
