A race with a tech stop midway where the rear wheel has to be changed. A race on a bit of gnarly XC track. A trackstand competition. A brompton race. A bikeless running race Egg and spoon race - on a bike Three legged race - on bikes. Also, perhaps a *small* ebike category....and maybe three-four times as many competitors, tech, crew, IT, HR, wives and husbands etc and the events spread over several episodes and last, like the Olympics *SHOULD* be doing - get 1 untrained non-ex pro in each race so we normal people can see the difference.
Very short track means cornering and the actual handover plays a big role. Also, the short straights means the MTB is not at that much of a disadvantage. Aero for instance isn't really playing that big of a role. Also, Blake has shown to be a bit of a beast when it comes to sprinting. There's at least one video over on GCN where he is part of some crit racing with Hank and one of the other GCN guys, and he is definitely holding his own. Also, Rich is no slouch.
That was fun. Manon is seriously fast on a road bike (BMX Manon is roadbike Manon's distant cousin? I'm just guessing on that one.) She definitely gave the boys a run. Blake is pretty much just a powerhouse. Hank and Rich looking pretty solid too.
The video series we're all waiting for, Manon teaches Blake Road riding, hill climbing monster, and Blake teacher her MTB, it must happen. This was fun to watch though!
36 tooth mtb chainrings aren't a match for 52 tooth ones. it's an easy win if you got the legs. Good effort nonetheless! Blake showed in the track sprint that if you SPIN you will WIN!
Blake has a huge sprint, but he had to burn it on the first half of each lap vs Hank just to hold Hank's wheel. Obviously the 99m sprint and BMX played right into Blake's strengths.
Credit to Blake, he's an incredible all round rider. I don't think I've seen him fail to grasp a riding discipline yet. He has skill, power and very good fitness. Always impressed.
i have to say seeing hank on that last challenge fly through corners makes me want to also pick up road biking,mid only i had the money for a road bike to many monies going into the mtb HAHA

Actually, I find GCN to be even funnier to watch - and I am saying that as a mountainbiker. GCN presenters certainly don't take themselves too seriously, but they are always serious about the content. From Si, to Hank over Manon, Ollie and all the others in between, I think they are great fun and very tongue in cheek almost all of them. GMBN guys are waaay too serious on many occasions. With Blake obviously being the exception.

The gmbn boys are absolute legends. I would’ve expected them to use hardtails ands xc tires. Rich on the enduro bike is such a Chad 😂

Get a road bike or do what I did and get a fixie/single speed. You get a lot of the feeling, just not as fast. But they are quick.
