A shame those Porsche Collector Sets are shelf warmers... But that's on Mattel. 3 out of 4 cars were part of the mainline, even the blue one. The only new casting is yellow 911, and not everyone wants to spend $30-$40 for just one premium car. Thankfully, I got my 911 loose for like $12 alone. Wish I could find RLC 964(or any 964 for that matter) for that price, but thankfully, new 911 Carrera 3.8 from upcoming Fast and Furious line is also a 964.

I still get old packaging which is a disaster. I live about 120 miles from Jonestown and worry about every shipment. The issues aren’t just the poor shipping box but the terrible internal packing material they use like deflated air pillows. Or the fact they will put 3 cars into a box big enough for 10 and the cars just bounce around like ping pong balls.
Oh man! Reading this comment gave me anxiety remembering the same feelings dude. It’s the main reason I’ve made two videos covering this topic now because I know that even eBay purchases arrive like mini tanks and I guess it takes a real Diecast collector to understand that the small sheets of bubble wrap and some packing peanuts go a long long way. I wish Mattel would give anyone willing to drive up to their offices in Jonestown the opportunity to pick up orders in person. It would save everyone a bunch of money too. I hope that your next online order gets the new packaging man. It makes the old box look like a joke. You saw me pressing down on it with like one and two fingers and I was going so easy on it. I prefer the old style box. Never had a problem with them being crushed. Last 3 new boxes I've received have been damaged. However this is more likely an issue with carrier. Never have a problem when it's UPS or USPS.

Got hold of the R34 GT "pace car" by complete luck. It was hiding behind a Beavis/Butthead Pacer!! I missed out on the 1/43 "Nismo" green one a couple of months ago & needed to reserve one in Northern England! Very pleased, as I have around 85% of the R34s produced by HW. Im missing the earliest silver & a couple of special editions, plus the purple RLC model. 9:36 lol, I would be fuming if someone parked in a carpark like that 😅😅😅😅

As for the rlc. Yes they could do better. For the price I've heard they charge , I expect Katie price to collect it from the airport and hand deliver it to me with her knickers in her handbag 😂

But why aren’t they wrapped up so that collectors can receive the best possible condition and enjoy the product. This new box is a game changer. My cars still arrive in the old style packaging. At least they have been so far. I don't have too much of a problem with shipping since I live in New Jersey and I am next door to Pennsylvania where they are shipped from. Also, my cars arrive by FedEx and not the US Postal Service. Whether this makes a difference I am not sure. But my FedEx driver is cool since he leaves dog treats for my dog when he makes his deliveries 🙂

Which country are you in? Understandably when you move away from an old product in any business. Consuming the old stock you still have is part of the life cycle to reduce waste. I’d imagine US orders might still use the old packaging for now but that’s why I made this video. @@customcollects I am from the States and recently participated in the Dollar General mail in for the Nissan Silvia CSP311. I totally understand the importance of not wasting product and with you living across the pond is probably why they may be taking extra care in the packaging. My box did show its weak points, there was no bubble wrap at all. The blister for the RLC is so tight that part of the tampo has worn on the car. Also the box deformed in transport and creased the protective corner. Definitely could be better packaging for RLC's.

I don't have my eyes on any upcoming rlc releases but I do have the new Bm creations Honda Civic coupe on preorder and 2 hobby japan Civics on preorder an Eg6 with carbon fiber bonnet and I believe spoon 5 spoke wheels and an Ek9 Type R with carbon fiber bonnet and 5 spoke spoon wheels. I do have my eye on the Honda Civic Ef Kaido house that is releasing later this year. I love Honda Civics if you can't tell lol 😆

@customcollects My most expensive Civic is probably the Eg6 Custom Blvd from last year and it's still carded, I do have a bunch of Custom Civics I dis myself but I don't really put any value on them. I am gonna have to get a Spoon/Honda diorama for them eventually.
If you look at a keyboard you’ll see that the letter R is right above the F. If English isn’t your first language then these hilarious mistakes can be made. And did you work out the Mercedes one? Look up their company motto and then check out what MoreArt have written in error 😂 like I said, I like these displays more now because those mistakes make me smile! lol

I decided years ago that I would just put my money into one brand and build an epic collection that has the same look and feel. I think the bottom line is this… Mini GT has some to say and is a relevant Diecast brand with great prices when compared to HW RLC. But! RLC’s magic is in the paint and when you throw in some side mirrors and an opening feature it’s hard not to like the RLC magic more. Sorry this wasn’t a one word answer. I wish it could be. But you’re right that RLC prices are on the higher side for what you get. What about you dude? Which Diecast brand do you think puts out the best products for RLC prices? @@customcollects I’m not an RLC member so the cars are $45-50 locally. There’s not enough cars I want of RLC, elite 64, etc to become a Mattel member. But on the 1/64 model side there are so many to choose from: pop race, mini gt, inno 64, kaido house, tarmac works, etc. So short answer: for the same money, I find a lot of model grade 1/64 but only a few rlc and elites so prob model grade if had to choose one. But once in a while pick out a single Mattel car in the aftermarket if it really speaks to me

@customcollects it's funny. Collecting /hunting has been real dry. Now I'm getting more educated on hot wheels, I'm able to be more discerning on what I would like to obtain. Problem is (and I don't mean to be negative here) but most staff in shops really can't be bothered to provide you with coherent info. They never seem to know when the delivery is never mind whats on the itinerary. There's around 10 stores I can sort of depend on for some nice pieces but that's only if I'm there on the day of delivery. The next day is always too late. You know the score. But if the staff can never tell me ...what can you do. Its not like work allows me that much time. Thing is I like to think I'm a curtious collecter. Anytime I've ever scored I always buy the staff a coffee. Always make an effort to be social and friendly ...but some people 😆. Anyhow tomorrow is the big day. Thursday is always the main day. So will do the rounds before work. I was thinking maybe I could unsub and re-sub...might give me magic again lol.

@@customcollects Yeah I'm also stuck into just Hot Wheels hahahaha, it's my childhood plus I love exotic and strange liveries as well as fantasy castings A LOT, so that's something other brands don't have.

Which country are you in? Understandably when you move away from an old product in any business. Consuming the old stock you still have is part of the life cycle to reduce waste. I’d imagine US orders might still use the old packaging for now but that’s why I made this video. It’s always super interesting to see what’s happening with other collectors and find out what’s going on in the Diecast community. Appreciate the comment and support! @@customcollects I am from the States and recently participated in the Dollar General mail in for the Nissan Silvia CSP311. I totally understand the importance of not wasting product and with you living across the pond is probably why they may be taking extra care in the packaging. My box did show its weak points, there was no bubble wrap at all. The blister for the RLC is so tight that part of the tampo has worn on the car. Also the box deformed in transport and creased the protective corner. Definitely could be better packaging for RLC's.

That’s actually quite hilarious that you live so close and have to go through the stress of an order unnecessarily making it way through the postal service when yeah, you SHOULD be allowed to drive round the back and pick up your cars in person. I actually worked a job and they advertised on their website that customers could drive up and have a small tour of the business! Says a lot about small businesses hey! I don't have my eyes on any upcoming rlc releases but I do have the new Bm creations Honda Civic coupe on preorder and 2 hobby japan Civics on preorder an Eg6 with carbon fiber bonnet and I believe spoon 5 spoke wheels and an Ek9 Type R with carbon fiber bonnet and 5 spoke spoon wheels. I do have my eye on the Honda Civic Ef Kaido house that is releasing later this year. I love Honda Civics if you can't tell lol 😆

@customcollects My most expensive Civic is probably the Eg6 Custom Blvd from last year and it's still carded, I do have a bunch of Custom Civics I dis myself but I don't really put any value on them. I am gonna have to get a Spoon/Honda diorama for them eventually.

If you look at a keyboard you’ll see that the letter R is right above the F. If English isn’t your first language then these hilarious mistakes can be made. And did you work out the Mercedes one? Look up their company motto and then check out what MoreArt have written in error 😂 like I said, I like these displays more now because those mistakes make me smile! lol

THIS is a very very good question! Thanks for writing a comment about this mate. Firstly. I’m a Hot Wheels collector. I decided years ago that I would just put my money into one brand and build an epic collection that has the same look and feel. I think the bottom line is this… Mini GT has some to say and is a relevant Diecast brand with great prices when compared to HW RLC. But! RLC’s magic is in the paint and when you throw in some side mirrors and an opening feature it’s hard not to like the RLC magic more. Sorry this wasn’t a one word answer. I wish it could be. But you’re right that RLC prices are on the higher side for what you get. What about you dude? Which Diecast brand do you think puts out the best products for RLC prices? @@customcollects I’m not an RLC member so the cars are $45-50 locally. There’s not enough cars I want of RLC, elite 64, etc to become a Mattel member. But on the 1/64 model side there are so many to choose from: pop race, mini gt, inno 64, kaido house, tarmac works, etc. So short answer: for the same money, I find a lot of model grade 1/64 but only a few rlc and elites so prob model grade if had to choose one. But once in a while pick out a single Mattel car in the aftermarket if it really speaks to me

@customcollects it's funny. Collecting /hunting has been real dry. Now I'm getting more educated on hot wheels, I'm able to be more discerning on what I would like to obtain. Problem is (and I don't mean to be negative here) but most staff in shops really can't be bothered to provide you with coherent info. They never seem to know when the delivery is never mind whats on the itinerary. There's around 10 stores I can sort of depend on for some nice pieces but that's only if I'm there on the day of delivery. The next day is always too late. You know the score. But if the staff can never tell me ...what can you do. Its not like work allows me that much time. Thing is I like to think I'm a curtious collecter. Anytime I've ever scored I always buy the staff a coffee. Always make an effort to be social and friendly ...but some people 😆. Anyhow tomorrow is the big day. Thursday is always the main day. So will do the rounds before work. I was thinking maybe I could unsub and re-sub...might give me magic again lol.
