Oh my, you almost made me cry there. Thank you so much, friend. Your feedback has really validated my work. I was worried that the interviews I did weren't valuable to you guys. Thank you so much. I'm glad we can both relate to imposter syndrome. It's a common experience. 🙏
Yes, Vicki! remembering the impact that you have is so valuable. I think it keeps us going for the right reasons. Your work is so, so valuable and you are creating this incredible library of a resource for people. The world is lucky to have you. ❤
I love how you put that …..think of putting people in a room…..it’s a lot. I love all my comments and views 😊. I know what it is to be feeling down about views but I don’t do that anymore…..I enjoy what I do and I am grateful that I am bringing value even to a few. Brilliant video
We've got to stop diminishing the impact that we're having~ Yes!! I love this! I think it may be a GenX thing, we (at least for me) grew up in a time when kids opinions or ideas weren't really valued or even encouraged, it was more like 'grown-ups know best' so that message has been in the background and we underestimate the value we actually do provide. I love that you said 'your voice matters' it got me choked up💕🥰 I love your Sunday videos, I know every Sunday at 11am there will be a video from you and I appreciate that!
@starchyshauna I think you are right. We were raised that kids are to be seen and not heard. I am so glad I was invited to interview. I had no idea I would have so many epiphanies. 😊 Thank you so much for watching and being one of my biggest cheerleaders 💕
@@AgingOnYourTerms It sounds like you had a really great experience, which is awesome! I love those ah-ha moments🥰 You're welcome AND I truly appreciate the value you provide and that your intention is born from wanting to help people, that is number 1 to me🥰
That's so true. A room full of 19 people might seem overwhelming, but online, it's easy to get caught up in the allure of social media fame and view count. It's a reminder that numbers alone don't define value. Thank you for this important lesson. Much love💞
Thank you for sharing! I am enjoying the ride as I love doing my hair and share what I learn within the years of wearing my natural hair with others. Have a good day everyone
Urging people to PT or use devices for mobility isn’t exciting but it’s very needed. So is support for caregiving which I know you have talked about. Thank you for the support.
Hi! Love the channel. Over 50 and right there with you on many things. Thanks for sharing so much. It is great to hear so many of us have similar experiences, issues and concerns. TH-cam can be an empowering, supportive experience.
Thank you so much for watching. I was reluctant to create a TH-cam channel. But you are so correct, it has been a very empowering and supportive experience. 💕
Great video, Vicki! You definitely are adding value to your viewers (and I love Alexa and her channel!) As a new-ish & small content creator myself, I can relate to everything you said. I was just writing in my journal this morning (before I saw your video) about how grateful I am for my subscribers, and their comments on my videos are priceless to me. I have received outstanding feedback and suggestions from the comments. Even though my channel is growing slowly, I am gradually building a community not just with my subscribers but with other creators such as you. Having hundreds of people wanting to hear/see what you're saying is pretty incredible! I'm a gardener, and one of the old-time sayings about planting a new tree or shrub is that it takes 3 years for that tree/shrub to really get going. First year is "sleep" as the plant gets used to its new home; 2nd year is "creep" which is the plant establishing its root system and putting out a little new growth, and 3rd year is "leap" which is when the plant really takes off with growth and vigor. Having a TH-cam channel is a lot like gardening. Put in the work, take care of the garden, and the garden will reward us beyond what we can imagine.
I love the gardening analogy. 💕 We are definitely in a marathon, not a sprint. But I'm patient. 😉 Thank you for watching. I love the community we are building. 💓
Let’s say it for the back of the room to hear! It’s ok to ask for help! I just started understanding this 4 years ago at 51 when I almost died. I didn’t think I should ask. I didn’t think anyone would. But I was in such a serious place I had no choice. Now I am slowly asking as I continue this journey.
@@JackieWolven we were raised by people who didn’t ask for help, and the apple didn’t fall far from those trees. We have to work to UNLEARN what we were taught. 😉
I love this, Vicki! And as I was watching and listening, I couldn't help but think about the fact that the very first video of yours that I watched was the one where you decided to not be a faceless channel anymore. Oh, how we've all benefitted from seeing you and listening to you!! 💕
What fabulous points! My channel is in it's infancy, and I so needed to hear your thoughts. I may need to watch many times over the next weeks and months. Thank you!
