11:58 - Does anyone know if that is the sound / Tutukaram technique in Maestro Ilayaraja's Mudhal Mariyaadhai movie score during Sevuli's (Ranjani) death? The sound is exactly the same. 2:27 - Does it not sound like Ilayaraja used double bass flute for the prelude of "Pani vizhum iravu" in Mouna Raagam?

Hindustani Bass flutes have been used for most recordings of film songs as the sound the Assam bamboo produces is more breezy,smooth and apt for filmy songs. So yes, Arulmozhi sir ( Ilayaraja's flutist ) would have used a Hindustani bass flute for it , like how he still uses them.

@@BC999 Yes, he is absolutely an amazing singer as well. But most people don't even know it sadly. Wish people recognise him as a singer more as well
