I only heard about Shelley Segal today. Been an Atheist 5 years, but without Quora, I would have never known that there were so many atheists out there. I never once thought about looking up atheist music until I heard 'Saved' by Shelley Segal by chance. Now, I'm filling up my playlist with more realistic music. I love what you're doing, and it is meaningful. Thank you for your work.

Good on you! Like many atheists and freethinkers, I grew up being told that Jesus Christ was the best way to live, and that the Bible was the ultimate instruction book to how to live our lives. Even then, I knew that was bullshit!

@Shelley Segal your emotion is like Janis Joplin mixed with Joan Baez with the lyrics of Leonard Cohen, or Bob Dylan. I am a dispassionate person and yet you can move me to tears with your songs and voice and lyrics alone. I am at a loss. Please let me know where I can buy your cds. I would pay big money to hear you play and sing certain songs, but for now, I just want everything you have ever done. You are amazing. It is NOT a movement.
It is an individual's lack of belief in any gods/deities.
God has nothing to do with religion... When will atheist get that?

Thanks for stopping by.
I think most atheists, myself included, have come from religious backgrounds. I was raised with religion and that is absolutely where I was taught to believe in god.
There could be a non-denominational god concept but mainly I think the concept of a god is taught and perpetuated by religious communities
@@ShelleySegal Yes religion gives form to the formless... So it helps people understand.. But remember God came before religion... I'm so shocked to be learning of this damage religion has done that it turns people off to such an extent to totally abandon God and preach against him. I'm not even Christian... Can't people realize it's not God but phony people that are hurting them? Can't they have some spiritual discernment? Why abandon God for the faults of ignorant humans?
