The thumbs down people are always some unhappy, narcissist, keyboard warrior who never put in the time to understand this music. Go get laid, thumbs down guy!

One of the great institutions of jazz in New Jersey. There's WBGO, William Paterson University, numerous other NJ schools with fine programs, and many fine concert venues. Shanghai Jazz, built by David and Martha, taken over by Tom Donohoe, where the musicians are treated like friends. Vic is missed by all who knew him. Wonderful player and person. Karl, keep the beat, and thank you for the great music, everything you dream turns into reality. The Latham of Heaven (with apologies to UKLG). Antwerp!

Karl and Mark share a vibe. Great team! Of their trio recordings with Vic Juris and John Hart, good as they are, I think this performance is the best. Love Mark's solos.

What's more, there's a tv in the background showing some news. These people have an awesome ability to multitask!

What a sad comment on our culture that masterful artists like this are consigned to being squeezed into a corner of a Chinese restaurant next to the kitchen with a tv on behind them (why?!?!?), while mediocre pop performers fill theaters and arenas with simple-minded, adoring fans and earn a fortune. Talk about a labor of love.

Why do they always place the band next to the kitchen? “TWO TURKEY DINNERS READY TO GOooooooo….!”
