There are so many shawarma spots in the city and I've always wanted to try some of the best. Thank you for this top 5 Clark. I love how you explored shawarma from different countries. I did not realize how many countries made this dish.
I was surprised too when I began diving into other shawarma spots other than my usual go to's. I was also pleasantly surprised by how much nuance there is between each region's approach to the dish. So glad you enjoyed the video

As I clicked the video I was thinking "It's too bad this won't include Mississauga because Lezzet Shawarma is one of the best I've ever had anywhere in GTA." However you did include one in Mississauga that I always drive past and didn't know it was so highly rated. Thank you for the suggestion! I will try Yaseen's and hopefully you can try Lezzet sometime (on Dixie Rd.) 👍 If you go on Friday or Saturday night expect a line all the way out the door.
My go to spot is near my home: www.mainstgreek.com/ but I really need to try some places in the city. Maybe time to research spots for a future video perhaps?
@@IGetFood Thanks for the recommendation! I find it hard to find a good gyro place that does proper meat stack spit. But the fact it has a melitzanosalata on the menu is pretty special, makes it worth trying it out.
A lot of great places in this list no doubt. Shawarma I think is the perfect food to represent the GTA (greater Toronto area) it's comfort food to showcase the diversity of each culture who bring their own unique spin. One spot I highly recommend is Shawarma Frenzy in East York near Pape and Cosburn. Their shawarma sauce is amazing especially if you love garlic plus they are super friendly and treat you like family. There's a reason why I ate there 3-4 times a week.
shelbys is garbage and doesnt even deserve to be operational. Its purely a social media restaurant and for sure doesnt get repeat customers. I know because i will not be returning to shelbys.
