Prof Manyora, you have very good points in your analysis. Let me, please add one point which may escape so many and especially the old folks.
What we are witnessing is a crash between the old and the new systems of thinking. For a long time, the world over, the old systems has been saying one thing and doing the opposite. Teaching one one thing and doing the exact opposite. It has been very confusing to children. The time has come to make things straight. The old system MUST be swept away for the new system to take root. Therefore, Ruto has no otherwise but to resign. This is a spiritual war. There are those who see only the physical, like Ruto and his government. Gen Z are seeing the invisible. These is nothing the old systems can over because they are pathologically inept. The do not differentiate falsehood and truth. They live in falsehood and firmly believe that it's truth. The Gen Z see through the falsehood. They are Indigo children. These children are taking over the world. These children are the deliverers of the New Earth.

Proff, I disagree with you. Someone has to take responsibility. Withdrawing the bill is just a wound bandage. Don't you see that Kenya's problem is systemic? That is why there was need maybe to improve BBI or amend it, but go the way of good governance, improve devolved functions and finance them, deal with corruption and tribalism once and for all? How do you fire the ministers and technocrats and yet you have dysfunctional parliament full of sycophants? I think your president has an opportunity to show statesmanship and executes profound changes even it may mean that he serves for one term.
