Mull is the best island and the friendliest, is also the safest, very good people and communities on the island, I’ve been on holiday to Mull and loved every second of it. I recommend Mull to anyone and everyone.
3000 people can turn into 8000 people over the summer so it certainly can get very busy, it is a beautiful Island you should definitely go back and explore more. Great video and congratulations on getting the drone back !
Calgary, Loch Buie and Loch Na Keal all have donation based camping spots open year round so they are spread out everywhere. Lived there for a year and honestly it was tough at times with constant ferry issues and lack of supplies but it's one of the most beautiful places in the UK for sure.
Great video #TeamSloanes #Chris&Dani, love your undiluted honest opinion of places which is sometimes rare on TH-cam / Instagram. Look forward to your next uploads.
Never taken my van to Mull but been loads of times sailing. I love Tobermory and you regularly see vans parked overnight at the carpark next to the marina. If you do venture back the public have access to the same shower and toilet facilities used by the marina during the day. You pay a couple of pounds for a shower regardless of whether you are booked in at the marina or the general public. Happy travels
ahhh thats cool i didnt know that. Its hard making sure you dont cause a nuisance so generally unless i know otherwise i tent to not use most services or parkups
This video was most enjoyable, thank you. The camera work & backdrop showcased perfectly Dani’s natural beauty and lovely smile. Keep up the good work you two.
New sub. Great video you guys. You can wild camp at Calgary Bay, there are 24 hour public toilets, and picnic benches, and BBQ’s there maintained by the local community. There’s a wee honesty box to let you leave them a few quid. It’s funny, I made a wee video on Mull for the motorcycling community, and my thumbnail said “Will it ever stop raining” 😂 If you are on Mull during the holiday season, Fidden Farm campsite down at Fionport is a great site. Good facilities but very low impact on the land. You wouldn’t know you were on a campsite at times.
I got some beautiful pictures of Calgary Bay from that big hill behind you (a steep climb) there's remains of an old village hidden up there too. We camped for 2 days and had fun swimming but it was a bit overcrowded. Easiest Munro (Ben More) I've ever climbed on Mull provdides a wonderful view in all directions.
Thanks Neil, really appreciate the comment. was hard work with the weather so not as good as i hoped it would be but getting the footage was a nightmare.
As usual loving the crack / humour 🤣 I went to Mull many years ago now in September and was very lucky with the weather (roasting), nipped over to Iona on the ferry but didn’t go to Staffa as I had my dog with me…. Catch 22 really, go out of season and the weather’s not good, go in season and I bet it’s like one large traffic jam these days - same as here in the Lakes🙄
Great video. We went in August in a T6 camper with 2 kids under 5. I can wholeheartedly confirm that the infrastructure doesn’t exist for tourists and 1 hour drives covering 13 miles are as fun as they sound.
@@ChrisSloanes beautiful island, but I skipped onto the ferry back to the mainland like. Drove home in a oner overnight from Fort William, have never been happier to see the Angel.
Hi Chris, after spending 5 weeks in Scothland this year, I have been enjoying your videos as a reminder of the great time I had. I spent a good day on Mull and was also of the opinion that it is a „hidden gem“ and I would have loved to have stayed a day or two longer. Near the standing stones you visited was also a „castle“. I looked for it for a while before finding out that the pile of stones on a hill was the castle in question. The term „castle“ in Scotland is very flexible.
really enjoy your vlogs Chris, we are not long back from a wintry NC500 & Skye Tour share your love of our amazing country, can't wait to see the new van...
Ah great, how was the nc500 in the winter? that was what we had planned instead of Mull originally but since weve done it before and hadnt been to mull we changed our plans.
@@ChrisSloanes brilliant and quiet, lucky I had my winter tyres fitted we had snow last 3 days. There were hardly anyone on the roads and we managed to get 3 sites, 2 on NC 500 and 1 in Skye to keep warm and recharge batteries :)
Was there in the summer with dougalthecampervan, went to Calgary Bay and the road towards the waterfall was full of idiots parked in the passing places, was not good for ma nerves, beautiful place great flyfishing and fantastic campsite with peacocks and guinea fowl, thoroughly enjoyed that Chris, the new M.A.N camper finished yet??
Great video Chris. Next time I head to Mull I'll probably not go to Iona as due to the roads it took an hour from the ferry at Craignure to get there. At least Craignure to Tobermory is quicker mainly because that way is mostly single carriageway!
Really enjoyed the video. You need to go back as there is so much more to see. A trip down the side of loch Scridain to see the sea eagles or some seal spotting. Or maybe come back in October for the Tour of Mull Rally. Imagine watching cars go down that road you lost the drone on at 140mph! an awesome spectacle and the whole island is buzzing.
Brilliant video again guys thank you. No nonsense blunt and honest you guys are very good at what you do. Look forward to seeing the next one and of course the new van. All the best hope 23 is a good one for you and look forward to watching you both. 👍👍
Great vlog, you just need a waterproof shell to go over your puffers. Puffers are amazing but just not designed for heavy rain. Now I need to work my way though your back catalog
Excellent video Chris they just keep getting better and better keep up the banter although there are some terminology no understandy must be local slang or Swahili🤣
You need to explore more! Go back Rally week (second weekend in October) and see mull in a different light...... There are stories behind both the benches you stopped at and also go back to the stones at Dervaig during the night! 👻
Got nothing bad to say about tobamory & Mull ! But as you say when the weather is good its a very different place! The trade off is people!! I remember the sea looked like the Caribbean 👍🏻😉❤️
Ah its a beautiful place isnt is. Everyone was super friendly too. Glad we went in the middle of winter when it was quiet. Bet its a nightmare in the summer
Hi dude you can park up in a hell of a lot more then 4 off road. Places on mull especially on the west side of loch na Keal I do use sites as well but not every night and never had a problem no. Mull is far by the best island to visit . Skye is too commercialised these days and far too busy .
It is a beautiful place I must agree. We said as we were driving it would probably be a great island to cycle around providing there’s not too much traffic
@@ChrisSloanes ,the traffic can be bad but earlier in the season, April,May time are ok. Lots of lovely people and a free campsite at Calgary Bay, just a donation needed for up keep of loos.

haha they are, some are bigger than others but still just stones haha. Not be long mate i do have some potential bad news 😳

Top quality video as usual mate. Love your video style. Keep em coming bud

😂😂😂😂 I’ve had that before mate. They have a particular skill of managing to ruin your fun once you have kids don’t they haha

We were there recently and there were 2 campsites open and a park up at Calgary bay for £10 with a toilet at the other end

We missed Iona and to be fair the weather was a bit mental anyway. Its a gorgeous place though isnt it.

My favorite place is the cheese shop
You wouldn't want to wear down jacket in the rain
Completely agree but if your out and get caught in a rainstorm like we did then it’s handy having a down jacket that doesn’t instantly turn to mush.
God dont you complain, !!!!!!
Said the person complaining about me complaining 😂😂 yeah I do, it’s kinda my thing haha I’m a miserable sod
You missed all the best bits
A little training for single track roads(with 50 ton trailers) is helpful before attempting the western & northern parts of Norway😂
Are the roads small single track roads up that way? I cant wait to return to Norway. Next time it will be house shopping!
@@ChrisSloanes Some are, I'm the most rural areas. Lots of salmon farming means lots of transportation...
