I'm new. I was hoping to see how to create a zoom in/zoom out effect on a video. I did it once, using the Ken Burns effect, and it was perfectly smooth. I've tried it a second time and I can't seem to fix the jump from clip 1 which as no effect, to clip 2 which has the Ken Burns effect zooming in. Clip 3 has the Ken Burns effect to zoom out is perfectly smooth. Ugh, I've been at it for over an hour. I'm not sure what the problem is. Any ideas?

How can you zoom OUT further (not just crop in like you showed here). If the video is rotated I can get what I want but then the video is sideways. I want to zoom so big that it is NOT filling the frame.

Yes and no. I’ve been uploading videos and editing and making intros and everything all on my phone. But I just got a laptop and I know that I’ll be able to do so much more soon so I feel like I’ll have to learn more now 😅

Looking at your timeline, the timeline zoom feature is located in the top right corner. Click on that to expand the timeline or “zoom out”. Lmk if that helps
No. I really wanted to know how you did the zoom in/out on video like between 00:02 and 00:04 using ken burns but making sure the end point and the new starting point line up perfectly... that's what's proving tough for me! Any tips?

I looked for lots of things as couldn't find it... like "how to zoom in and out and match frames on iMovie" or "how to match zoom frames on iMovie" or "how to reverse a ken burns effect" or "video zoom effect in iMovie" that sort of stuff... I ended up searching for one which was "zoom pan effect in iMovie" which isn't exactly what I was after but to try and get some tips that might help. Hope this helps a little :)

It should say ineligible, however, if you were monetized before they made the switch to 1000/4000 in April 2018, then it may have disabled it if your channel hadn’t met those requirements. Do you recall the reason it was disabled?

You never deliver on your opening "In this video I'm going to show you how to zoom in and out", where you actually zoom in and out of yourself speaking. When I try and do this, I make a split at the middle (zoomed in), with a zoom on the first clip zooming in to that point, and then zoom out on the second clip out from that point. The problem is matching the zoomed in end of the first clip and the zoomed in beginning of the second clip. I have not found anyone to show how to accurately pull that off, without just eyeballing it. Naturally with a click-bait title like "Zoom In And Out Effect iMovie - Full Tutorial", I would have thought that is what it would be about, not just a simple introduction to the zoom tool.

Yes - on iPhone with your clip selected do a pinch zoom on your clip to simulate movement then playback for preview. Thanks for the kudos 🔥

Awesome! Good point. Yes you will experience pixelation so act wisely. The closer the zoom the more the pixelation.

It’s because you’re enlarging a smaller part of the footage to fill the screen.
