Tastefully done, short, sweet, insightful and impressively trim; I don’t think there was a single bit of fat, and with a casual flow which nearly made me miss the efficiency, which is something I rarely see, and appreciate more than you could know.
Improv became my life in 1986. I do it professionally now and make a great living. Studied at 2nd city Toronto and Vancouver TheaterSports. It's been a huge part of my life and I still love it.
I tried to do improv and really thought by watching SNL and other sketch comedy shows that it would be easy. I didn't go to Second City, but the other well known improv theater in LA, which I won't name out of respect for this video. Let me just state that once you are there, you quickly realize who is naturally talented and who is just faking it. I was in the latter category unfortunately. To watch these artists up close perform and create so effortlessly was difficult, because it made me quickly realize that I should not have been any where near that place. But it was also an honor just to be able to see the process that a real one goes through to do a performance. By "real ones", I mean the truly talented performers. The real ones are absolutely bold, fearless, and creative. I am in awe of anyone who can do this type of performance.
I really wish I had started doing improv earlier, I started in my early 30's and it was sort of too late to attempt comedy acting professionally (SNL or whatever) beyond performing with a few improv groups. I still perform and teach improv, but it's not how I make a living, but I do comedy magic for kids professionally, so it's improv adjacent.
Twinned with Birmingham 2nd City of UK! My home City, which is why I have a soft spot for Chicago! Some people think Manchester is 2nd City in UK, but IT'S NOT!!!🤨🙏
Love Chicago, so much history; and this music is tasty. Oh, and there’s nothing wrong with deep-dish pizza aside from the fact that it isn’t pizza. It’s delish, it’s just not fucking pizza. NEXT

Thank you very much!
What Kelly says at the end (29:33ff) is among the most beautiful and profound ways to put what it means to be human. A truly great documentary.
So glad you enjoyed it!

Awesome video. It's amazing to see real interviews, not just videos regurgitating wikipedia articles. Very well done!
Much appreciated!

Bravo
I loved the old Chicago. Not surprised so much talent went through there. It's horrific how horrible the city has become because of poor leadership.
