Steve's wtf face was the best thing ever.
Had the privilege and honor of seeing them perform this live. It's still one of the funniest skits I've ever seen!
Lucky you. I just come back here every year to watch this classic.
hahahaha, all Steve Carell needs to do is stand with a straight face, its hilarious.
"Between a white man...and an old black woman" XD, I can't
Steve Carell have best flat expression in the world
Correct
The best per capita
Truly masters of their craft.
I went to school here for acting and improv for about 4-5 years, and I gotta say, the legends and the history of everyone but especially these two and the belushi brothers..it’s a lot to live up to
I think this is one of the all-yime great sketches. The comedic timing and pacing of the story are so exact that its comfortable...which just further heightens the incongruity 😂
Funny and satirical - great comedy
Where has this been all my life?
I was laughing do hard my two favorite Steves :)
Maria Gutierrez be careful.....steven is very special when it comes to his name..
bye bye *stephen
Steve Carell at 6:04 to 6:40 is hilarious
What are you talking about? Carell did fuck all. He just stood there.
exactly
Dude his face was his acting.
@@ADSuri What are YOU talking about? Carell is the entire reason this is funny.
He provided the baseline.
Without Carell, this would've just been Colbert playing an old, black woman, no different than a guy reading the part of Juliet in Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet".
Sure, there's potential the juxtaposition to provide comedy there, but it's not laugh out loud funny.
The comedy comes from Carell seeing Colbert as we see Colbert, rather than as an old, black woman, and wondering what the heck is going on. If he wasn't there or if he just went with it, this wouldn't have been anywhere near as funny.
Everyone except Carell is acting like this is 100% normal & Colbert is playing the role of an old, black woman. Carell is the one telling the audience this isn't normal and Colbert isn't playing an old, black woman, but, rather, someone who actually looks like himself whom everyone sees as an old, black woman.
Especially considering that "Yes, and" is the most well-known rule of improv, knowing that he should break from the pack here really highlights Carell's chops, and his acting sold it.
Who remembers the old Daily Show when Colbert and Carell were both correspondents? Those were the days! Now it's time to search YT for some of those old episodes :)
I call that time "The Golden Age of The Daily Show" I can't find much any of it on the web except small clips on TH-cam. Fortunately I recorded some of the shows to VHS. So when I can find a working VHS player again...
good news, both of you should go ahead and search KeiraTota channel, they've been uploading the clips back to YT.
Who remembers when both steve's were on SNL as the Ambigiously Gay duo??
My theatre teacher showed us this, I’m glad he did but just 🤩
Yall did this skit when you toured at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall a few years ago. I laughed so hard i cried xD It was a wonderful show that i've never forgotten!! =)
The best thing ever. And on Dave's Birthday!
.
LMAO HOW HAVE I ONLY JUST DISCOVERED THIS😂😂😂😂
Just found this. LOVE it! Thank you so much for posting.
This is just incredible...laughed so hard
Great performances hahaha
That’s one of the quickest 9 mins on TH-cam
damn... that's an NBA Hall of Fame improv scene right there
Its sketch, but still yes, hall of fame.
Amazing
this is so silly 😂
this is one of my favorite things in the world.
That's So Raven?
this is hilarious
This is amazing. XD
I'm currently in a class with David Razowksy...now that I've seen this, I'm looking hopefully toward some kissing scenes, soon. (So what if we're on Zooom...?)
lmao

❤
Is that Broccoli Rob?
I want more than anything to be Nathan
I'm about to die!!! LOL
PLEASE, someone plesse tell what song their singing at the end
We All... Everyone Of Us by Sweet Honey in the Rock.
what year was this performed??
That's MICHEAL SCOTT.
Omg... nuts.
He is great ı wish steve was real
THAT KISS WTF! XD
I honestly can't tell if this improvised or a sketch. Does anyone know?
John Lascurettes
All scripted. Perhaps came out of an improvised nugget. But this was part of a sete, scripted portion of a Second City Mainstage revue. I believe in circa 1992.
Most Second City material is developed from improvisation and then set.
Jeffrey Sweet This sketch was actually improvised during a rehearsal and put up unchanged. Also, Mr. Sweet, I really enjoyed your book. Never thought I'd run into someone of note in the comments section.
I got confirmation on Facebook via David Razowsky (the guy who gets kissed) that this was a written sketch that Carrell and Colbert brought it into rehearsal, was improvised by the group, then added to the set.
My guess, sketch.
WHAT IS HAPPENING
They really kissed. Wow! Acting.
wdf
Please, somebody - WHAT IS THAT SONG THEY SING AT THE END?!?!?!?!!?
Did they make it up? I googled the lyrics and got a whole steaming pile of go fuck myself
We All... Everyone Of Us by Sweet Honey in the Rock.
#Dundies
What the fuck
What the fuck
Idk man this was really insparational for me
why people laughing?
because it's funny
Colbert wins the dislike. Pos
What's the deal w. the "black woman" thing when the one playing her's Colbert??? Then, Steve becomes "Sarah"? WTH? (???)
Shay Mary u rite
I'm confused. Is this like blackface? Are they racial stereotyping?
fseesauras no not at all
After the gender-identify debate, this isn't that funny. I'm sure those who identify as Colbert say he does here are offended.
it is funny still, keep in mind that colbert supports trans people so this is not a jab at them
Oh my God, this is one of the best sketches I've ever seen!
I'm so confused. But that was awesome!
That's improv
ive watched this way to many times
sploosh09 same!
Rosie-Anne Wright I mean who wouldn't?
No such thing. :)
This is the two of them at their absolute best.
THIS IS FUCKING HILARIOUS HAHAHAHAHA
All I see is Michael Scott losing his mind.
Is that the Spanish teacher from That’s So Raven tho?
This was shown in my drama I class when we where talking about improv. My teacher warned the class about the Male-on-Male kiss but people still went wild, the boys where cheering, the girls where screaming. Chaos.
This is the stupidest thing I've ever seen and it's amazing
please, don't pretend to look like a wise man, no one is tricked
Carell must’ve put himself through hell to be able to do what he does in this sketch. And quite honestly everything else I’ve seen him to do.
I wish he said at the end he is a old Chinese man
Anyone getting south park vibes?
this is awesome!!
Nathan, don't give up! :D
How much of this is improvised?
This sketch is pretty rehearsed. There are some more improvised ones floating around on here though
Luigi Terroni We improvised this in rehearsals, then write it once we liked all we improvised. It was, though, pretty much the way it was originally improvised. It was from a show in 1994.
sara brown, huh
Thank you for uploading this!
that was so good!
6:03 His stone cold face is hilarious LMAO
Colbert nation
god thats gold
That other guy reminds me of Dustin hoffman
He HAS. They HAVE. Get with it!
Part 2 must come! this was awesome! :D
Who wrote this?
How have I just discovered this??
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!
5:16 he sounds like dwight schrute here
For improve, this is very good. Or did they rehearse this?
This is a rehearsed sketch. You want a less rehearsed improv look at Tina Fey and Rachel Dratch in "Connections" it's also hilarious
Barney Os.
Barney Os.
COLBERT SUCKS. CARRELL GREAT
Shouldn’t his fan base be canceling him for this
Love this comedy. This satire reflects a lot on our (stupid) identity crysies today... anyone can identify as anything. Regardless of what they actually are...
Two Thumbs? This Guy. finally a comment with sense
I don't think you understood the point of this video....
