    Thanks for your informative videos. I special ordered my R56 back in Feb. 2008 and took ownership that July. It’s a pepper white MCS manual 6 speed with LSD. I now have 215K miles on it and have had just a few issues. It’s on its third clutch and third turbo. Right now I’m replacing the thermostat housing and water pipe. I may need a new ac compressor as well. Before I attempt any work I make sure to visit NAM and look for your videos. I definitely don’t just speak for myself in appreciating the efforts of folks like you taking the time to document your work.

    Had mine for just over two months. It’s really fun, especially after a 5k service, new exhaust, plugs and coils, tires and battery. Once I replace the headlamp assemblies I’ll feel great about driving with the utmost confidence. At times it scares the hell out of me. Getting better at taming/riding the beast!

    Hi you have a nice Mini Cooper behind you. I just bought a 2007 cooper automatic 67 miles in it and I really like it. How do you shift it on the left?

    Got a 2013s same color as your car. Live in Ca too and surprisingly had a WRX before the Cooper. Recently upgraded the intercooler, changed out the overflow tank to an aluminum one bought one of those p3 gauges and made a few cosmetic changes ie new hood scoop(although I know these aren’t really functional). Don’t belong to any clubs. Seems like these cars are expensive to maintain and aren’t really reliable. I guess all these German engineering cars are that way. Fun car to drive like a go cart feel to me. I am short so in that respect fits me well I guess.

      If you replace all the wear items then your r will be reliable. They get a bad name because people don’t do the work

    • @Speedwelltuning

      You can’t have a turbocharged ‘cooper’ only the Cooper S was turbocharged from Gen 2 onwards. Do you mean you have a Cooper S??

    • @JM-nn1yk
      @JM-nn1yk 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I have a Cooper S.

    • @Speedwelltuning
      @Speedwelltuning 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You mention reliability but I think a lot of modern cars produced in the last 15 years have expensive issues. ALL direct injection engines will coke up and require walnut blasting, Porsche can’t design the cayman properly without strut towers breaking. BMW diesels have issues with timing chains. All diesels are a pain in the arse for DPF faults. So what ever you pick now will cause you problems. I prefer my older cars for their simplicity but then I miss the DSC and heated seats etc of more modern cars in the winter
      I try to have a balance of old and new(ish) an ‘07 Cooper S, a ‘90 Eunos Roadster that I performed a turbo conversion on and a ‘98 Ralliart Lancer Evo 6 restoration project (needs welding)

    Mine is giving me problems these days. Just got it less than 2 weeks ago. :( check engine light came on and gave many codes... reset it and hasn't come back on... but I do feel it's running funny... alternator checked out. Not sure what else it could be... :(

    • @ProjectMini

      Check your fuel pressure at the rail with a scan tool and see if you’re good or not

      @@ProjectMini I can totally understand that at an early stage of doing videos but it really would flow and look far more professional if it was just recorded in one go like all other youtubers do.
