Yeah. This scene was also like Roz vs Anne on LA LAW. This scene specifically was almost an exact ripoff
They should’ve made Caitlin a regular. She would’ve made an excellent rival to Amanda.
I said the same thing. Caitlin was intense. But you know when they created MELROSE PLACE, black characters and people of color weren't really looking at for being cast at main characters. Stories that they felt weren't for " black people". ESPECIALLY after season one. And if they had a role they're were considered racially ambiguous.Its too bad to, because there were so many decent black actors that could have lived in MELROSE PLACE and caused just as much chaos.

In modern times it doesn’t seem like a big deal but back then you just didn’t see black characters prominent on a mainstream show in opposition to a white main character. That’s why Dianne Carroll’s tenure On Dynasty was such a big deal. Not only was she a non-stereotypical black, female character but she was in a rivalry with the white female lead which presented her as an equal, which was unheard of at the time

I honestly think they should've kept Jasmine on as Caitlin. It would've been nice to have that energy to match Amanda instead of having Amanda bully everyone.

yes, but the thing is, they wouldn't allow that from any woman character. Look how they did Taylor, Lexi, Sydney, Alycia and Jennifer. There were moments where each of these women outshined Amanda but yet, the writers had to dumb down, weaken or kill their characters off to make Amanda stay on top. Smdh. They made it to believe that if it wasn't for Amanda, the show would of been cancelled. I think she helped but that is not the only reason people got into MP. IMHO, the real underdogs were Kimberly and Sydney.

Now here is what could’ve helped season 6. Instead of bringing back Kimberley’s lame mother, who sucked from day one. They should’ve brought Caitlyn back to be the one shooting the cast. It would’ve made more sense bc Kim’s mom had already made amends with Michael when she died. Then she just gets pissed off again and shoots at him. And to make it worse, then cried and asked for forgiveness and attacked again. Like that whole thing was the worst storyline of the entire season, other than the Christine being alive. Caitlyn being back would’ve made that season do better bc she would’ve got payback on Amanda, Michael, and Peter, who all deceived her and made her lose her power. But we never got it and that’s why Melrose was dead by season 6.

Jasmine's hair look ridiculous lol They should've had her on there for more episodes at least for the whole season. Her and Amanda would've made the show even more interesting than it already was.
Peter was such an evil mastermind in the beginning. He became a total pathetic wimp at the end!
Yea that’s why I didn’t like him much. He came back and then Amanda all of a sudden falls in love after he tried to kill her. And yes he became a sorry sack of shit. He was way better when he was there the first time.

Not to sound petty here, but I don't think Caitlan won anything here. She still had to prove to Amanda she was who she said she was by calling Peter. If I was Amanda, I'd still tell Caitlan to get out of her office.

Peter Burns was a character only for one season. No a main character. As an actor for me he was very boring and old.
