I used to watch and record this show in middle school and I can't believe that Kim had M.P.D and she had 🧠 surgery. She was so crazy on this show but the show didn't explain her background much. They made it seem like she was born with MDP. She was CRAZY...bombed the building and stole a baby. I love watching it on Amazon Prime now. I feel like I watched this without a real awareness of what was going on; prostitution, Allison's dad hurting her as a child, mpd, doctors changing medical records 🙃
I watched this show as a teem in the 90s too, thinking it was how people acted and looked like in California. When I visited for the first time in my early 20s, I was very disappointed when I learned it didn't reflect reality.
Melrose Place was so outrageous! Kimberly blowing up the apartment complex was my favorite. I also loved when Jane and Sidney got into a fight over their grandmother’s dress and they fell in the pool, and when Peter tried to kill Amanda, only to have her marry him later.
One of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE MP moments was when DRUNK Alison ruined Billy and Susan's romantic dinner. Then, as Alison was arrogantly slithering out the door, she says, "I've always wanted to do that." LOL
Loved Marcia Cross as the deranged Kimberly (she TRULY had the most 'deranged' moments from her run on MP) but don't forget that Heather Locklear/Amanda got her start on soaps as the trashy Sammy Jo for YEARS on Dynasty in the 80's (plus Jack Wagner/Peter), he was on General Hospital, Santa Barbara, and Bold and the Beautiful.
Amaryl, if you've never seen any, I think 90s Mexican telenovelas are the entertainment for you. It's pure ridiculous, campy drama with the most beautiful houses (not too many kitchen tho, because it's often either shacks with no kitchens or mansions with servants so, you know). My favorite is La Usurpadora (I mean, even the title is dramatic). Good evil, bad twin. I'm Brazilian and it is an absolute classic over here.
Aaron Spelling was a big fan of William Bell, his soaps The Young & Restless and The Bold & Beautiful. I think you might say Melrose Place was what you'd expect if you took a daytime soap and put it into a primetime format. Lots of suds and a bigger budget.
I was gonna say this too. Spelling clearly modeled Kimberly after Bill Bell’s legacy character villainess… the legendary Sheila Carter played by Kimberlin Brown.
Oh come onnnn, you left out one of the campiest lines in the show! After the explosion, poor Alison sits in her hospital bed with bandages over her eyes, and after a very technical prognosis about the state of her vision, she asks, "is that doctor talk for blind??"
To this day, one of my all-time favorite MP moments is the one where Kimberly singlehandedly turned the tables on that psycho Vic (who had kidnapped her)...and then singlehandedly brought Vic to the police station. And, finally, Kimberly told the desk captain that she had to go home, take a shower and freshen up...and THEN she would return to the police station to press charges against Vic. LOL!!!!! CLASSIC MELROSE PLACE!!!!! Those were fun times.
@@SamuraiKike He was the weirdest looking guy to ever be put onto a show that's supposed to be full of hot people. Makes me wonder what he had to do to get this coveted role. How he had to sell himself out, literally. Certainly it wasn't about his looks or even his acting ability, because he has none of either. And you know every young, actually good looking but unemployed actor in Hollywood would have been trying to get a read for this role back in the day. So how did he of all people get it. hmmmmmmmmmmmm.....
This show was just nuts. About the one thing I do remember from it was Marcia Cross and just how insane she was as Kimberly and the whole blowing up the apartment complex. That was amazing and very daytime soap worthy.
I know MP highlights were all on Seasons 1-4, but I missed some Taylor's (Lisa Rinna), Jennifer's (Alyssa Milano) and Lexi's (Jamie Lurner) bitchy moments... I'll never forget when Taylor used a door to get a black eye... Ouch!😅 I really loved that show, more than BH90210. How it moved from a YA series to a REAL soap opera each season was amazing, the absurd storylines, who dated who... Yeah, I miss those guys!😂
So here's the thing. I never watched Melrose place growing up. Somehow some way in my mind Melrose place occupied the same space as Rosanne and in fact I may have internally confused the two for years. I cannot describe to you how hard I broke down laughing at this compilation in the Craft. I had tears streaming down my face by the time I got to that last explosion. What was Melrose place even 😂😂
@@MartinSmith156 it gave me that same feeling I'm sure I gave others when I just send clip compilations of the batshit insane batman soap opera that was Gotham. Just a show where the campiest dumbest things in the world happen but the actors are doing their damnedest to play it straight and every few minutes you're reminded "oh yeah this is supposed to somehow be about batman 😂"
@@strayiggytv the best thing about Melrose Place was it took pride in its own sleaziness, it was PURPOSELY camp, the scene when Sydney is beaten up by angry, aging manly looking hookers, they even call her an "uppity slut" on Hollywood BLVD is GREAT trash tv done right
Believe it or not, it was broadcast 5 days a week at 5PM in France!!!! When it’s supposed to be for adults only!!! So we would be watching with my sister and muting everything when my mother was around 😂😂😂 good times!!
Will the reboot meet expectations and honor the CW spinoff's continuity? Who's making a comeback? In my video, I highlighted how many reboots disappoint, so I'm hopeful this one will fare better. Let's prioritize substance over performative activism and ensure the return of talented actors!
Although I loved the tv-show I can't understand how the hell Brooke (don't remember actress name) got role after Melrose Place from Sex in The City. She can't act. Jane Mancini's actress I haven't seen anywhere but her acting was also so bad that is easy to say Michael and Sydney are my favorite characters from the show. Kimberly close 3rd.
Hookers, mentally deranged people, promiscuity, abortions, sister betrayal, unfaithful marriages and an array of low class stories that could only get worse as the storyline progresses. I will forever stick with 90210. Melrose place was tragically low and horrible.
All the soap opera hunk are still very young here... They aged gracefully though (of course not natural, we clearly can see the botox line).... Hawwwytt

I love that line😂
@@DawnRoache-y9n Kimberly made a harder turn than even Michael!!!😈
Me too!!!
I remember the Kimberly in front of the mirror, pull back of the wig reveal. And I remember thinking “oh it’s a brain thing, that explains a lot”
I thought she was some sort of alien.

“It’s not what it looks like! It’s worse.” Is such a cunty line. It’s so good. Emmy worthy. Should have won a Golden Globe.
I was a tween back then and I remember thinking "Wow! Kimberly sure knew how to leave a lasting impression!"
Melrose Place was so outrageous! Kimberly blowing up the apartment complex was my favorite. I also loved when Jane and Sidney got into a fight over their grandmother’s dress and they fell in the pool, and when Peter tried to kill Amanda, only to have her marry him later.
You forgot Kimberly tying up and threatening to kill Sydney before blowing up the building and then becoming her psycologist later.
I will forever remember the wig revealing the horrible scar! My 10yr old self was GAGGED!
I’m SO glad you did this! It was my favorite part of your the craft review!!!!
Incredible. This compilation is a work of pop art
The chicken salad and Kristen Davis plate smashing was top tier for me. Also the wig reveal was iconic!
That was me last night!
One of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE MP moments was when DRUNK Alison ruined Billy and Susan's romantic dinner. Then, as Alison was arrogantly slithering out the door, she says, "I've always wanted to do that." LOL
Marcia Cross being in two iconic soaps...we stan
She is the Queen...
Three, if you count One Life to Live

She was also in The Edge of Night
❤😍
In my mind, this is the Desperate Housewives & Sex and the City prequel-crossover show...
Yes you're right! 😊
It's so like that 😂
Yees😂
Thats why i love drama i grow up seeing this OMG
Rumor has it that customer is still waiting for that chicken salad
The pottery shattering noise when she smashes through the glass door
Thank you who ever posted this! I know MP isn't Shakespeare, but I loved it in the '90's!
"Are you happy now?" No! LOL!
It's the recurring appearance of the shirtless long haired B-Roll commercial break transition guy for me. 10/10
😂😂😂😂😂
Its that one note we hear when we see him for me 😂😂😂😂😂
For real, who is she? 😍
"This is so weird. It's like something out of Dickens... or Melrose Place." -- Lisa Simpson
Melrose Place was just the best show ever! There will never be anything like it on television again.
True. Cracked me up they tried to revive it a few years back and it just sucked big time.
Marcia took off that wig to serve Sinead O'Connor realness with the cheekbone and pointy chin... Damn she slayed
It's awful but I scream-laughed at the chicken salad moment 😂
I blame the chicken, it's not right but they taste so good!
I cackled. Went full old hag. It’s not our fault! The wildly inappropriate contrast is the humor, ya know?

Women love chicken salad. More than they hate rape.
And dress shops
Karen doesn't care, she wants that chicken salad :O
Never keep a Karen and her chicken salad separated for long
OMG! It seems that I absolutely forgot how mental everyone was.

My god!! Yes! I gotta rewatch melrose place! Amazing!
All of the seasons are on paramount plus. I'm gonna do a rewatch soon.
I started 5 years ago and still haven’t finished 😂 almost there though but that’s 35 eps per season!!!

Brooke going hard and crazy on Billy was Kristin Davis' rehearsal for when Charlotte went hard on Harry in Sex and The City.

I remember they post-poned the explosion episode by a few months because of OKC bombing.

Not a single moment of Taylor McBride? She was the unhinged queen of Melrose Place
My money on that goes to Lexi Sterling. Totally OWNED Amanda in the final season.
It looks like only the first seasons are covered. Lexi 100% beat them all looool but it was 100% on purpose by that time! (S7)
Both Taylor and LExi were part of the later Melrose seasons when people simply didnt care anymore, sadly.

Trash TV of the 90s. Miss it dearly 😂😂.

I'm actually watching this show. I love it😊
For life for the rest of your Life 😂😂
Who ever thought the charming/ friendly/ smiley Brooke would become a Major villain on MP?
You mean FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE
That was definitely a threat. !
Can we all agree it probably wasn’t done on purpose initially though lol? It definitely was in s6 and s7 but I doubt it during s2-4.
No scenes with Taylor or Lexi?
I remember seeing her blow up the apartment for the first time. Ah, memories.
