Looking forward to getting a couple parts from you! Next order, I'm gonna have to look for that 30 pin to USB cable with enough power for the 3/4th gen. Do you know if the ipod mini requires the same firewire power? Also, have you ever thought about selling t-shirts? Thanks for keeping this awesome community alive. 😎
I have a homepod and it doesn't sound like tv speakers. On the first gen homepod the bass speaker goes out on them as well as having bad capacitors, maybe yours has that problem too. Bass sounds pretty decent to me especially considering it only has a 4 inch woofer. I haven't heard the Ipod hi-fi but definitely interested in getting one.
I have an iPod HiFi, connected with an AirPort Express and optical cable, and a HomePod gen 2. I honestly prefer the iPod HiFi, the sound is clean and even, but it is very directional. The HomePod gen 2 is definitely more subdued for vocals, but does fill a room from wherever it’s placed. May be able to adjust sound to your own preferences with an in-app equalizer (Spotify).
@@EliteObsolete OK a splitter from an iPod and then an audio cable into each HiFi. That makes sense. But does that mean both HiFis will play both channels? How do you make each HiFi just play a single channel?
@@EliteObsolete I'm confused. When my wife and I use a splitter with the iPad Pro we each have headphones going into the splitter and we both get left/right channels in our headphones. Is there a specific kind of splitter that splits channels?
I bought a few of the competitor iPod dock the B&W Zeppelin. I managed to implant a homepod mini internals into the Zeppelin and this creating an up to date smart speaker with fantastic sound. I'm now thinking of doing the same with an Apple Hi-fi 😊 This could have even more scope for retrofits, smart speaker and Li Po battery upgrade 😉
I got an iPod Hi-Fi and it sounds good. Currently my iPod 4th gen. is connected and listening Nirvana.
wow...i'll do that...i have two ipods 4th gen!!!
if u stick duct tape around your finger and touch the speaker cone, you can gently pull out that collapsed tweeter
You can vacuum the cone and it will take the dents out
You know whats even more sad… that the home pod 2 sounds even worse…

the mini doesnt need to charge with firewire, it can be charged by just USB. however it can transfer data over both firewire and USB
