So im graduating in may with my degree in materials engineering, and i’ve been looking for a graduation present to myself. This video completely sold me, the patinas they have are absolutely mind blowing. I think i’m going to go for a double monk strap with a deep red patina to stay classy and separate myself a bit.
Thank you for sharing this with us!

As a customer of 7L, I have to admit the value of their products is REALLY good for this price range. Always had good service at the Rive Gauche shop.
I'm surprised, Hugo, that you did not seem to know that Sendra is a HUGE name all around the world for its santiag boots (while the company keeps a lower profile for its city shoes subsidy).

Mr. Jacomet, I have been meaning to ask you this for almost a year now, but as a 25 year old with hair on the longer side of what might be considered "classic" or even "gentlemanly" in some circles, I was wondering if you could do a Sartorial Talk on hair? I have a similar hair length as yourself but am told that it does not pair with my classically inspired wardrobe. A ridiculous notion if you ask me, but I would be most interested to hear your thoughts on this topic.

Living in the Artic circle, I'd really like most of my shoes apart from black oxfords etc. to feature vibram or dainite soles. Leather soles might be elegant but they're really impractical and I had to resole my loafers only after approximately two years of bi-daily spring to autumn wear. The constant presence of gravel, dirt, mud and water is not that good for something that brittle especially when worn on a regular basis. I'm considering the loafers featured here the next time the soles are beat.

I really don't like these new style shoes! Don't like the narrow "Last." These don't like too bad. I have so many luxury sneakers. Because I don't wear athletic sneakers at all. It's a waste of money

27:00 combining sneakers with leather dress wear is quite a kitsch.
    visually, it doesnt match.
why this pisses me off, is that i see advertising of wearing a full suit with these running shoes and it looks like a t shirt with a necktie. it is gross at the extremes. and it all comes from this place of men wearing skirts, being submissive and ashamed to interact with women, wanting to dress just to look like someone else without being someone else...
and the essence of chromatics, geometry and elite clothing/tailoring is thrown in the bin.
i have not once seen a man who knows how to dress 100% correct in all articles. not once.
    another example on shoes...
turning a military boot into a pink, pretty, flowered, strapped, brogued, petit... you get the point, is very feminine and dandy-esque. a boot is a boot for a reason. you cannot mix shoes and expect the hybrid to last. all the hybrids do is kill the predefined traditional (shoes). and what is left is a sea of half dress shoe, half sneaker, hald bike, half truck combinations. these days, i see this mixing more and more. in any field. instead of keeping the clean away from the dirt, they are combined, resuling in more dirt.
dont get me started on programming, as another field where this happens. it is on the verge of collapse (evolution wise) and the only thing that keeps it alive is the ancient infrastructure itself on which everything 'new' (an partly broken) is built.
people dont want foundation anymore. they want to erode it and create soups out of solids. maybe as a sign of self hate. i bet all my money on that.

Dear sir, I respect your point of view (although your rhetoric is a little bit extreme imo) but concerning the leather sneakers, the point of Mathieu is also to catch the interest of the younger generation and maybe to bring them back to actual classic shoes. Once you've tested the real thing (leather and well crafted shoes), you may be hooked and at last wear proper shoes. Have a nice Sunday! Hugo

      Dear Hugo,
The shoe makers are responding to social changes. The dressware at work is getting more casual because more people work from home. A leather dress shoe indoors does not look appropriate. Many people wear sneakers trainers. To cross the bridge between workplace and home, the leather based sneaker is okay. While I will not wear them with a suit because of my previous investment in leather dress shoes but I would be tempted to wear them with smart casuals. I now understand that many sales are coming from this category of shoes. That's okay so long as it keeps my favourite shoe maker in business so long as they still create some dress shoes.

      stop inventing words.
there is only one thing that you can wear with suits. only one. and that is dress shoes (i might say only wholecuts are appropriate, but i make exceptions)
and you either dress in a suit or you dont.
if you dont, go wear a tshirt. and some jeans. stop being confused if you are a man or an alien. lets simplify life. 1+1=2 etc etc
