Florida beach businesses are thriving, despite red tide levels

There are medium to low levels of red tide in some Tampa Bay area waterways, and ABC Action News crews got video of dozens of dead fish on Clearwater Beach. Despite that, officials and locals said it’s not as bad as it could be or as bad as it is for beach further south. “I’ve been here for 40 years, and this is nothing compared to some of the red tides I’ve seen,” said Mike Demaio.

As a long time resident and boater, I've experience red tide first hand and know others that got really sick from it and had breathing issues for a long time after getting a whiff of this caustic air.
To this day, I blame my close encounter with Red Tide at Anclote Key, for my very sensitive lungs.
There's lots of discussions on the internet about people who have been seriously affected by this. Some tourists are even suing the State because they were not aware how serious it can be.

was at Fred Howard Monday, we were coughing but that was the only sign and that day it tested negative, its there now though, medium concentrations, hope it goes away soon
