    19 weeks pregnant and every time I orgasm I would get these AWFUL cramps for an hour or more. I talked to my doctor about it and she said it’s probably best to avoid orgasm because it sounds like my uterus contracts (this would happen occasionally pre-pregnancy as well but it didn’t matter since I wasn’t trying to keep something in my uterus). It’s been a huge bummer especially since my libido has massively increased. Yet another thing no one ever mentions about pregnancy lol. I’m happy for those that do not have this issue- enjoy it!!

      I have the same thing, orgasm especially if combined with nipple stimulation caused me horrible cramps every time but I was assured by my doctor that even though it is technically contractions it's not dangerous and wont harm the baby or cause miscarriage.

      @@Larissa_KD Oh my gosh! I've never had anyone else say they have this happen. This happens to me too - cramps on orgasm. I don't have endo that I am aware of. But it's been happening for a few years now. It is frustrating, and I haven't had any doctor take it seriously or be able to tell me what is happening.

    I don't often talk about my sex life but one thing I can say is as you get older the "sex" may not be as often but like you said about the flirting and treating each other as a sexual beings. As long as you keep that then you truly still feel connected and that is more important than the physical act.

  • @hkandm4s23

    Make sure your hold on to that mindset! I'm pregnant with my second and we have a toddler so intimacy is much more complicated. Once you have postpartum and baby, it's important to enjoy the time you do get with your partner and it's hard when you're exhausted and all your schedules and scripts have to shift and change. It seriously shifts the dynamic. Make sure to ENJOY the 2nd and 3rd trimester when you it's still just you and your partner! Also take lots of naps! As much as you can while you can. Sleep and sex are the 2 things I wish I'd enjoyed more before having a kid. This pregnancy is so much harder because I can't really just lie down when I'm nauseous or exhausted when I have a 2 year old to take care of.

    My baby is 6 weeks old now.
    First time being intimate after she was born was a bit scary. I think it's more about being comfortable physically and mentally. Also it depends on how the birth went....
    I had a forceps birth that also meant I had stitches, so healing up properly was a priority before being intimate to avoid infection. Good luck Hannah ❤

    Totally relate to the pleasure helping to alleviate physical symptoms. I’m not even pregnant right now but get bad stomach issues from anxiety. Having the physical distraction of “real” sensations is so nice. I’ve got two little ones, we stayed active until the final days. It was always fun trying to work around the belly haha.

    I'd love to see more of this sort of video out there as there is so much sterile and ingenuous info out there around pregnancy and sex that (in my opinion) leads to some pretty significant misconceptions around the whole thing. Sure, most midwives and doctors will answer your questions and give you good info - if you ask - actually asking and knowing what to ask about isn't as easy as it sounds. Great work, Hannah!

    Has nothing to do with pregnancy but with sex drive.
    Since coming off the pill 3 years ago (have copper IUD now so no hormonal birth control) I've been tracking my cyle in the Clue app and talking a lot about it with my partner. Together we've found out that most of my mood, energy level and sex drive is dependent on where I am in my cycle. So now we've found out that around 2 weeks of my cycle I'm more open to sex. So in those 2 weeks there is a few day peek where we sometimes have sex a couple days in a row and that can be it for my entire cycle. And sometimes I have a random day in between where we do it but knowing my cycle and knowing which symptoms come with what part of my cycle has really helped me in everyday life. I don't plan a lot of things when I'm just before my period, I allow myself more rest in that time. I start to doubt everything just a few days before my period and can get very grumpy and emotional for like 1 or 2 days before. Once my mood brightens up, I know there is blood🤣
    Some books Hannah recommended like "mind the gap", "doing it" the podcast and her overall content have really helped me see that having a "sex drive" isn't really a thing. In a Dutch podcast I've heard the terms sex aversive, sex neutral and ready for sex. That also really helped me. So when I'm sex neutral (so not horny but open to the idea of having it) we just go to bed a little earlier and see what happens. If I don't feel like it after 10 minutes or so of kissing and hugging, we just get some extra sleep. But most of the time it leads to sex because I was open to the idea and there was no pressure since we have enough time.
    Long TMI story but maybe it has helped someone.
    Open communication with my partner is the modt important thing since, even after 8 years, he can't read my mind of course. So if I don't tell, he doesn't know what's going on and might start to doubt himself.

    Really interesting to hear your side of things. I felt so sick we didn't do anything until I was well into my second trimester. We also haven't done anything penetrative as it is really tied into my pregnancy anxiety that I which I think is linked to having a previous miscarriage. It has been really weird as my libido has been really high in the second trimester so doing other things has been good for us.

    Great video! I had my pregnancy 5 years ago so I don’t really remember the sex changes but in case anyone finds this helpful: I did experience some spotting in my 2nd trimester and it turned out to be thrush (which you’re more prone to getting during pregnancy). I had no idea but it could be useful information to some people (obviously check all symptoms with your midwife or doctor).

    • @meals1459
      @meals1459 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m currently 22 weeks, the amount of discharge and thrush is like I’ve wet myself. I’ve spoken many times with my general practitioner, midwives.... the creams don’t work. I tried the pessary (with instructions not to insert deep) which gave me some relief for a few days but it came back. My GP explained that because my body temp is higher than normal, I’m sweating more it’s prime conditions for bacteria to grow. I asked if my little one will be ok and he said that’s she’s protected in two layers plus my cervix plug.... but it still makes me nervous (and uncomfortable.
      Also also, in my first trimester, I was so sick with all day nausea. I basically spent 2 months bed ridden. But aside from that, I had absolutely no sex drive. My clitoris basically felt numb. Now I’m feeling better, no nausea and my energy is back, I have my sex drive back but the thrush is restricting any sexual activities. My partner is really supportive and caring which makes me feel a bit better but... I still feel sad for us.
      One last thing, now that I am starting to feel little movements, it’s kind of messing with my head that there is this little human inside of me. Kind of brings me out of my sexy headspace 😅

    12 weeks pregnant here. Totally felt a dip in libido because my body, especially belly up until boobs, felt so sensitive (in a not fun way) that I didn’t want to be touched at all. Very emotional for me because I’m usually a cuddly sleeper. First time having sex after weeks felt very intimate though, in a way that I felt really expressed the love between us. So that was beautiful to experience and really built up my confidence again.
    Also on team Dripping Discharge here since a week or so 🙃 the first time it landed on my foot after a shower, I was so confused as to what it was 😂

    Nothing to do with sex in pregnancy, just thought of this because you mentioned being interested in learning about labour: when I was my friend’s birth partner, I read the book The Birth Partner by Penny Simkin to learn how to best support her during labour and it was really useful. We did attend a birthing class and all that, but the book was so much more in depth and way more scientific. I found it incredibly helpful and my friend has repeatedly told me that I did a good job. 😆 Not trying to give unsolicited advice - just in case Dan might be interested in something like that!

    Currently 28 weeks. My sex drive was almost non existent in first trimester and up to about 19 weeks and then just went back to normal. I don't think it helped that when we had sex early on in first trimester I started spotting and it was a very scary experience at the time. Now I'm 28 weeks I'm feeling very tired again and also sore and uncomfortable so though I have a 'normal sex drive' I'm not really interested most of the time. Definitely had the increased discharge throughout but has increased further the further along I get.

    I'm not pregnant but I know 100% I want a child.... But.. that might not be anywhere near the cards for me naturally.
    So I have an Endometrioma on my right ovary which was discovered by ultrasound and I was told its quite large (previous knowledge tells me its been there for at least 15 years), I got referred to the gyno people and I have finally had that appointment! My DrGyno described it as IMPRESSIVE, which made me chuckle a little bit and then he told me its roughly the size of a newborn babies head, which is not fun to think about (its not a baby lol its just a cyst filled with old period juice). But during my appointment we went over other things including the fact that he is currently unwilling to remove said endometrioma because of my weight (surgery risks) and discussed other symptoms I have and decided I have PCOS, which is strange as I do have the external symptoms of PCOS (weight/hair/skin etc) but no "multiple cysts" which is normally considered a must for diagnosis?
    So a little confusing.. But I also googled more things about endometriomas and apparently its like 1.6% of people who have this kind of cyst who don't go on to have full blown Endometriosis, and apparently you CAN have BOTH PCOS and Endo.. so fucking hell..
    Luckily he has now put me on the recommended medication for PCOS (metformin) which can help with my weight so that I can then have the surgery to remove the gremlin in my abdomen! FUN!

    This is my 2nd pregnancy now and I haven't been able to have sex at all in the first trimester for either pregnancy, just been way too ill, tired and had a lack of libido. However that did all change in the second trimester and sure made up for it 🤣

    I’m sure it’s been mentioned before but I can’t remember or find it - what app did you use to track your temp/cycle whilst TTC?

    Your Kegel ball video shows as up next but it made me wonder, would they be something you would use now and after your pregnancy to help with you pelvic floor muscles?

    What is accidental withdrawal? Is it just when the guy pulled out early by mistake?

    • @seabream
      @seabream 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      From context in the video she referenced, I think that it just meant that they had sex but they didn't do it as a specifically scheduled and planned act for trying to conceive, just having sex because they felt like it. So, sort of an unplanned withdrawal from the Sperm Bank of Dan. To take the banking metaphor a little further, I suppose it could also be said that their joint venture had a fortuitous injection of capital (equipment)? Not strictly accurate, but close enough for the joke, maybe. :p

    I’m 40 weeks and 2 days, and when you mentioned using orgasms to induce I was immediately like “I should go do that after watching this video” 😂
    The last few weeks my baby’s head has been so low that it’s actually making sex difficult. My husband can feel his head in there and it must be holding the top of the vagina open because sex doesn’t feel nearly as good as usual

    Hi!! IJust wanted towarn you, cause i don't know if you're notified, that this video has been age restricted by TH-cam. Also it asks that you share your credit card or a legal document to verify if your over 18, witch seams a bit sketchy but yeah... thought you might want to know this. It made me sad/mad that you can't freely share your content

    I hope this is okay to ask but what are the politics around masturbating in a relationship ? Do you huddle away and hide in the bathroom, or stay in bed with your partner reading next to you ? And sorry if it was a not okay question !!

      Male foetuses produce testosterone. Testosterone causes women to be hornyer than usual. Testosterone can also cause an enlargement of the clitoris which can cause more (often subtle) clitoral stimulation throughout the day.

    My little boy is almost 5 weeks old. I feel like in my first trimester, other than the fact I felt like crap and when my symptoms were really bad I didnt want to have sex, my libido didn't change that much. Second trimester sex is where it's at tho, I LOVED sex in my second trimester, I was so much more sensitive down there, sex felt amazing and orgasms were way better and I wanted to do it all the time 😂 we had sex up until a few days before he was born but it definitely decreased dramatically in the third trimester, mainly because I was quite miserable haha. I was so uncomfortable and I had a lot of back pain and I was just generally massive so sex didn't appeal that much that often. Haven't had sex yet because still in the delightful postpartum recovery period but interestingly, my sex drive has sky rocketed since giving birth which I wasn't expecting!

    This is so interesting and definitely not a subject that was covered anywhere when I was pregnant really. My HG symptoms stopped every time I had sex too. Later on down the road we found that she would move a lot after I'd orgasmed (a few minutes after) which was interesting. Quite weird at first but soon became a personal challenge for my husband 😂 that may sound weird but it's all just hormones innit

    oh geez man, im only a couple months behind you, and i was so nervous/queasy, that we kinda unintentionally abstained for the whole first trimester...but let me tell ya, my body was taking care of it. In the first few weeks i woke up from wet dreams almost EVERY night! and it would freak me out cos I'd get cramps after! but there was no controlling it, i'd just keep having orgasmic dreams, and everything was fine! 😂 they've calmed down a bit now, but it was pretty hilarious having no control over my body demanding regular orgasms. 🤷‍♀️

    • @WildWillieWiccan
      @WildWillieWiccan 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @LizTiddington Discharge can be all lubrication or contain lubrication in it. Medically discharge just means fluid is coming out. Most of the time it is perfectly normal.
