By the time Ottomans get their first Vizier point even with full on Dark Age pressure, their opponent already hits Feudal and gets Archers, making both Imams and Spearmen irrelevant. Exactly what has happened this game, where Ottomans player had to immediately retreat back home and lose half his Imams in the process.
Should've rushed for castle age and get xbows instead of production. MAA are the counter for Ottomans, period. They simply can't deal with it until castle age.
@@kai-xuanyao4666 yes but there are also early MAA which still counter the ottomans. If you're going against Ottomans, simply just spam early MAA asap.
@@tetefather Feudal MAA is pretty shit. Very little health and low damage. Horseman + archer in mass can deal with it quite easily, especially with the movement speed buff and free units ottomans get.

I may be completely wrong here but it was my understanding that javelin throwers are more like an exaggerated archer (beats archers and xbow but loses much harder to horsemen as a trade off) and the musafadi warrior behaves more like the xbow i.e it slays knights and maa. Can anyone conform or deny this?
yeah, though with a good micro and suff number longbow might win. As the musafadi warrior they dont slay knights 1 vs 1, but as they are cheaper with the same resources they beat them
you said yuuimetal had the better micro in the spear fight, but you have to remember the khan snipes all the low hp spears so pulling them back reduces his dmg for no reason
How big the area is for the Imam group healing? It seems like archers can simply take couple steps in and focus on them pretty easily. I know they are effective against French though. Knights cannot 2 shot vils with Imams nearby as far as I know. Btw fast castle age + field work build to grab all the relics would be viable or is it too gimmicky?
The trick with them I think is not to push them into combat, but have them act like a mobile Abbey of the Kings. Micro your units back to your imams and heal up safely. Overtime this will significantly increase the size of your army, and is probably best done with Sipahi as they have the speed and durability to make the best use of this.

Drongo, given your love for the Chinese I always thought you learned the language or had an inclination toward Chinese culture or something ... And due to the fact that AOE IV is a historical game and you give only references to contemporary culture like burgers and megatron ... I think you should learn more about history and culture, references from the medieval times would resonate much stronger IMHO. Love and thanks for your work.

twin madress food is only that of deer. maybe .03 more than deer, less than shore fish. its basically as good as eating deer, worse if you get survival techniques by more than 10%... I would much rather get 2 free traders and room for 6 traders to safely make me money on a land map. Pro players are lazy, they would rather have a much worse land mark that lets them put off farms longer than have a better build that requires much more nuance. plus, for some reason everyone thinks Ottoman are weak in the late game even though they are by far the strongest civ in the late game, unbeatable in fact, if played correctly. Too narrow of a counter view, they arent looking at their units Strategically as an army, nor are they running tactical drills as an army unit, but rather have calculated the great bombard to be tactically countered by culverins so they are useless, therefor Otto sucks in late. Not noticing that in a pitched battle culvs are made completely useless with knight, Jan Michael Vincents, and great bombards. High level players are used to controlling 3-6 clumps of units badly, rather than 1 battle well. When you practice pitched battles over and over, it becomes very evident that great bombards pushing with janissary Michael vincents in line formation defending center and knights marching the flanks, all guarding a gridded bombard line of 5-10(to even 20) Is massively OP. Impossible to be broken, and so Ottos, can let their econ build up, then over max with 150-160 army supply of; 20 bombards, 50 knights, 25 on each flank, and 30 Janissary Michael Vincents in line formation chillin right in front of the siege. With such overwhelming firepower, the most you should lose in a pitched battle is maybe 10 army supply, and no more than 1 bombard, any more means you didnt properly bear your firepower down simultaneously, or that the enemy overmaxed as well. And walls are NOT meta which is very very sad. There are so many techs with bombard stone wall that i have not seen a single time from pros... Some of which is retardedly OP. (when i say techs there I mean things you can do that are very OP, like temporary 1 way shootouts for your bombards for example/teaser ;) )
or bombards protruding 6 tiles past your walls that are perm invisible until the enemy breaks through your walls and walks past the walls at which point they can see your bombards that have been blasting them for the entire time.

They simply walked in to base without any respect.

I think that if you translate the healing of a group into resources per minute, field hospitals is actually cracked and worth like a dozen vills

Castle MAA counter most feudal units. Even feudal knights don't deal with castle MAA well.
