More wasted time and resources when only fools would not see an end is in sight. We have great people in the county but obviously not in our bureaucracy. Thanks to Leo and the crew for allowing us to see that artistic people can come together to make something as wonderful as Tally Ho. Thanks to the many crew for highlighting the best traits humans can have, hard work, cooperation, teaching, comradery and good will. An example the world would do well to follow. It's been inspiring to watch. Good luck in Jefferson county. May your move be seamless and productive. I'm sure Port Townsend and Jefferson will welcome you with open arms. I guess we get stuck with a MAT clinic instead. No waiting, no lines (their add).
What does not kill you makes you stronger! If I get the spin here, small minded people are the losers every time. A very talented gentleman named Leo stands head and shoulders above it all. Bravo, Tally Ho...........

During every episode I watch I say to myself how much I want to come and help build this beautiful boat......just not the long boarding. I'm exhausted just watching this kids with endless energy doing an exemplary job I could never do. Leo, call me afterwards
''Look honey, guys across finally painted the boat!'' '' I'll check it out tomorrow,I am tired'' Tomorrow comes: ''It seems pretty unpainted to me have you lost it? ''
as funny as it was it's also the most effective way of feeling for highs and low spots, the eyes can lie the hands don't. . painters in auto body shops don't wear gloves while sanding because they need the tactile feedback of running their hands over the car body.
OH my gosh she is absolutely beautiful with the guide coat on her she will be even more amazing with the final coat of paint you are a true artisan Leo. This project is my absolute favorite channel on You Tube
Pete's blown hydraulic line story cracked me up. In college I worked the overnight shift at a ski resort making snow. One night the groomer cat blew a .5" hydraulic hose right in the middle of the most popular run. It looked like a murder had happened there - the snow was blood red. The part wasn't going to arrive until noon the next day, so we had to put snow fence around the cat until we could get it off the hill, as it was considered a hazard.
Holy man Leo, you even make those scallops look like a thing of beauty. Prof's to all you folks on the boards. You guys have stamina. That task is something I have nightmares about. Totally hate sanding and this would be the "nightmare on my street" of all sanding.
I love the shots of Pancho keeping a weather eye on how the construction is going. Pancho paces up and down like a captain on the quarter deck making sure everything is ship-shape and Bristol fashion.
Hi Megan and Patrick! Glad to know you're there helping out. And hi to everyone! I'm coffee in hand and happy to see this video. It's looking so beautiful! She'll be super fair when you get thru! Great job!
Watching you dig out and put back in the slotted brass screws reminded me of when my older brother, a shipwright apprentice, was building his first boat in Victoria (across the way) in the mid 60's. Except that power hand tools were very primitive back then. Drills were not cordless, not variable speed and not reversible. Even with a gear reduction they didn't have a lot of torque. Needless to say there was a lot of work with a brace and bit. Keep up the great work. The craftsmanship that all of the crew constantly display is very satisfying.
A crew with a sense of humour. Pancho still loving being the centre of attention. Poor Pete and his move oiling his way into his neighbours good graces. I am saving my neighbour comments until you move.

Hey Leo , plastering guys use a light bulb on the end of an extension cord to set fairing while long boarding their walls , arches and barrel cellings . At night it is easy to mark areas of concern for the crew's attention tomorrow . Just lay the bulb against the hull and you can easily see the highs and hollows .
I’m concerned that Pancho will be bereft - genuinely in mourning when you leave. I know she’s technically your bird but can you do a deal along with the workshop tools?
Birds like this do suffer from separation anxiety and will even go so far as to pull their own feathers out - sad. I really hope it doesn’t happen here
It's feel it's rude to imply pancho is not already in good care with her owners. It's no ones place to interject like that, how do you think they feel being pressured by the internet to give an animal away that they obviously love dearly.
Welcome Megan and welcome back Patrick. Where were all of the women in engineering when I was studying engineering? So good to see more of the ladies adding their creativity and experience to the field. Thank you Megan. Thank you Leo and the rest of the crew for all of your hard work. Everyone have a great week ahead.
I really enjoyed the scalloping work on the rudder. There are so many technical things that go into getting Tally Ho shipshape. Welcome to the new crew who were introduced to what in legal circles qualifies as cruel and unusual punishment. Fairing a boat like TALLY HO is torture, Leo should spring for a massage therapist to be available at the end of day, along with 96 jet hot tub. I'm glad I'm not a TALLY HO volunteer. I'm sure I would conk out after 15 minutes. Good job team.
WOW!! Leo you & the team have done a marvelous job to date. I'm not a boaty but I've watched every episode from the start. Your attention to detail is second to none. Pete is a great addition to the team (all the others too) with his dry wit. I'm sure the day will come that Tally-Ho is launched to a fanfare of many peoples applauses'. Thank you for sharing this massive feat & now for the big move which is unfortunate but necessary in the long team. We will miss the crazy bird that belongs to you hosts but he has had a great time I'm sure with all the different people he has seen throughout this incredible build. Once again many thanks to you & your crew for the huge effort that has been required for this massive achievement. Cheers Billy J... Beaudesert, Queensland, Australia....
I can't believe you painted the whole hull and then sanded it off! And how did a young guy like you get all this boat building knowledge? And your crew is great! I really enjoy your videos.
Tally Ho is looking a whole lot more shipshape than when you 1st got her Leo! All down to your vision, enthusiasm, hard work and great team work from all the volunteers. Well done. Cant wait to see the new paint job.
I am a mechanical engineering student as well and I build things out of wood , plus I rebuild bikes. Up to now I thought I was the only one that has that kinda of crazy life. Good to know I am not alone.
Every single video in every aspect of this project I repeatedly think "I as a German approve of this approach". You just do everything so thoroughly and cleanly although you're in the states (I'm a dual citizen, so I sort of know what I'm talking about). I would love it so much to work for you (if the plane flights weren't so expensive I'd have already made enough applications to make it happen).
Salt&Tar is the polar opposite (and yet very interesting and good in its own way) and acorn to Arabella is somewhere dynamically in the middle. Bristol shiprights to me is American (unique) professionalism and Western Flyer foundation is American assembly line professionalism.
I have watched every one of these video’s and every time I go away for a week or two between episodes and then come back for the newest posting, I am struck by one thing. Tally Ho is an incredibly beautiful and well constructed craft. Her fit and finish are absolutely spectacular and it almost seems like a crime to cover such amazing workmanship with paint. This video demonstrates what a talented group Leo and company are and I would literally pay them for an opportunity to go and work on the boat. Unfortunately, although I love sailing and have some woodcrafting skills, they are closer to Pancho’s ability than Leo’s, lol…
I can see why it takes so long to put out a video. Simple excellent editing Leo, music was spot on, kept jumping between scenes, longboarding, scalloping, that bloody bird, cleanup, interviews, that bird and your own commentary. It's been a true pleasure watching. Hope the move goes well.
Only three years late! As a luthier who needs to make perfect curves in a variety of woods including extremely dense ebony where it meets a maple neck, I would suggest the Angelique be done with scrapers. Not only do you have extremely fine control and a near perfect finish when you are done, they can be laid flat to ride curves and shave off high spots very delicately.
Hi I'm Captain AL 70 year old boat builder and x Pirate Toxic Dumper Hunter. Don't remember how many boats I've built . Under 50 some ware?? I'm building a small Chinese pirate river boat live aboard now flat bottom powered by Gas, Diesel, Electric and Lugg Sail. Equipped with frequencies to De-Tox Rivers also with gold dredging non evasive system all automatic while I fish trout and play my guitar or take my naps. I love your show. Your dam good son⚓
I can’t get over just how beautiful the planking is, the joints all the same size, the skill and knowledge that has gone into Tally Ho so far is amazing.
'Dry guy' Codie's rendition of an air shower was quite amusing!😁 Despite the fact that standing next to a boat was about as dissociative as such a scenario could get it nonetheless evoked speculation regarding what a quick rinse after a hard day's work might look like on Mars.
Leo, With a view to assisting you, I hope the following is useful; 1) It is best to round the ends of the scollops in the stern post (i.e. leading in to the propellor) as it will assist the flow of water into the propeller. If you leave them square the water has to 'get around a square corner' which will induce verticies and excite the likelihood of the propeller cavitation. 2) I would strongly suggest that you in stall some bulkheads before moving the boat, (even if they are temporary) as they provide important structural strength to the hull. Without bulhkeads the hull will have a tendency to rack, which will do all sorts of damage to the structure. Professional naval architect and boat builder
Having spent a lifetime in both the automotive and aircraft industries, I'm familiar with preparing a surface for finish. I had no idea the prep for wooden boats could be this involved. Tally Ho is going to be the fairest vessel on the high seas.
I follow this series since its beginning but never commented. I dont know why, but this episode is really nicely edited! Somehow a bit different than the others but I really enjoy it.. Its starting to look like a proffesionaly produced series! (which it is I guess lol.) keep them coming!!
The hull looked fairly fair as the long-boarding continued through the first fair-coat of paint. Great job running your "unqualified" hands over the hull to check for high and low spots. They must have read things your unconscious picked up on, whether you realized it or not. Sometimes automatic mode works better than intentional mode. Keep "hand sanding", you guys and gals have natural skills. I love the natutal wood, but have to admit, TallyHo looked nice, even with the spotty fair coat, from the distant shot. The lines between the planks really showed her lines, and the lack of paint on her stem's and stern post's purple heart set off nicely against the white paint field beautifully.
Leo I follow your channel and I really want to congratulate you and your crew, specially Peter, for your incredible work. All, since the beginning, is absolutly well done. As I was mechanical drawer, as I worked to improve processes, as I’m working on a 40 years old fiberglass I want to tell you that all you do is really perferct, well prepared, and really well realised ! I wait for each of your vidéo, they are my best serie ! Congratulations again, you are really on of the best yachtbuider I’ve never seen ! I hope all the best I can for the next weeks and all things you have to do. Sorry for my bas english, in France we aren’t good for other languages... Mitch
You've got some gunk on your lense :P I like when you add a large section for the feathered co-worker ... adds something refreshing to break up the scenes. Your new assistant is a good looker.....
What a huge difference that guide coat of paint made in the appearance of the hull; it looked that much closer to completion. I can hardly wait to see how things go with the actual painting! You're getting there, Leo. Great volunteer crew, again, too.
It was fun to see Megan's Downingtown shirts because my brother and sister were both born there. My dad's first church after seminary was in Downingtown so I have heard a lot of stories about it.
Tally Ho looks so beautiful. So good to have Patrick back. What a character. Meagan seems awesome and a Rugby fan to boot; best game in the World. She gets to be a team player on the Worlds best channel. Love it!
Leo, you have found some new crew members who are going to fit in nicely. Good to have Pete back. Such a mammoth task you have undertaken and now you have to shift to another location. All that extra work just because of busy bodies. Thanks for the video.
What part of the boat are you painting Patrick, ah, as a boatbuilder I can verify this is the outside! Another thing Leo, Pancho is going to need to be locked up when you leave, I can picture her waddling all the way to port Townsend trying to find her ship when she is left behind!
It would be so cool to see this boat to have its natural wood color when finished. I know it won’t because he is going to paint it like the original Tally Ho. But hey, I can dream
The sea is a pretty harsh environment and a paint coating protects the hull. Any part below the waterline has to be painted with anti-foul in any case otherwise marine organisms would grow all over it and slow the boats passage through the water and ultimately destroy the planking. The varnished internal timbers are really beautiful though.
"Back here for a few months!"

as funny as it was it's also the most effective way of feeling for highs and low spots, the eyes can lie the hands don't.

painters in auto body shops don't wear gloves while sanding because they need the tactile feedback of running their hands over the car body.

Running your hand over the part you sanded has some erotic aspects, like running your hands over your lover.

She looks amazing even though it's the guide coat, what a beautiful shape she is! =)
Sailcargo Inc is international magic.
Any other cool projects/channels?
My arms hurt looking at these folks work. Faired hull is looking very good.
All i can say is.... yes.
98 episodes in and it never gets tiring, Thanks for all that you are doing to bring this beauty back to life.
She’ll never fly…
'Dry guy' Codie's rendition of an air shower was quite amusing!😁
Despite the fact that standing next to a boat was about as dissociative as such a scenario could get it nonetheless evoked speculation regarding what a quick rinse after a hard day's work might look like on Mars.
Pete took a well timed vacation, with all the fairing and longboarding, it seems!
not sure how a shower in hydrolic oil is a vacation. But indeed no long boarding.
Leo, With a view to assisting you, I hope the following is useful;
1) It is best to round the ends of the scollops in the stern post (i.e. leading in to the propellor) as it will assist the flow of water into the propeller.
That wide shot of the painted Tally Ho really shows just how big of a ship it really is!
What a busy women. It'll be fun to see what's she's going to learn. True fighter, red white and blue ! AMERICA !!
Beautiful work as always. 19:00 Leo breaks out the French Curves and carves some gorgeous Coquilles Saint-Jacques! Welcome, Megan and Patrick.
You rub your hand along the side of the boat because a freshly sanded piece of wood is soothing to the touch. It's relaxing.
Having spent a lifetime in both the automotive and aircraft industries, I'm familiar with preparing a surface for finish. I had no idea the prep for wooden boats could be this involved. Tally Ho is going to be the fairest vessel on the high seas.
Making those guide cuts in the stern post for the scallop cuts was pretty slick. I'll remember that for future projects.
I follow this series since its beginning but never commented.
I dont know why, but this episode is really nicely edited! Somehow a bit different than the others but I really enjoy it.. Its starting to look like a proffesionaly produced series! (which it is I guess lol.) keep them coming!!
That shot from across the street is like seeing a transformation from Noah's Ark to yacht.
Noah has been put on notice by the Callalum County. They dont want his kind of riff raff there.
I look forward to these videos. This is the only channel where I have faithfully watched every single video since I found the channel.
Still continues to amaze and inspire. Wonderful project. Thank You ALL
Jim
Mitch
You've got some gunk on your lense :P
I like when you add a large section for the feathered co-worker ... adds something refreshing to break up the scenes.
Your new assistant is a good looker.....
Patrick is a good comedic stand in for Pete😄
Always satisfying to see Leo the Sculptor and water flow wizard at work.
Patrick is the fellow you need next to you after a few hours on the torture board or when life seems grim. Lifeboat of humor on a sea of misery.
What a huge difference that guide coat of paint made in the appearance of the hull; it looked that much closer to completion. I can hardly wait to see how things go with the actual painting! You're getting there, Leo. Great volunteer crew, again, too.
You upload a new video I am also Carpanter in Pakistan and we make also traditional boats and cargo ships 120ft Long
Built better than the original. Fantastic job Team Tally Ho!.
Any one else notice how Leo went from using a nice backsaw, to pulling screws, to using a cheap crosscut saw? :)
Love the progress
It was fun to see Megan's Downingtown shirts because my brother and sister were both born there. My dad's first church after seminary was in Downingtown so I have heard a lot of stories about it.
Tally Ho looks so beautiful. So good to have Patrick back. What a character. Meagan seems awesome and a Rugby fan to boot; best game in the World. She gets to be a team player on the Worlds best channel. Love it!
Meagan mentioned working on cars and motorcycles too...my kinda gal! Awsome new teammates!
Tally Ho looks so beautiful- love your videos and the crew- would love a ride when she gets finished.
She'll be easy to track - just follow the trail of chewed up splinters ;-)
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!
That Pete is a Monster. He doesn't have a Stop button.
Welcome aboard the crew Megan. (from one east coast fan of Tally Ho to another) I think it's so cool that you volunteered.
Didn't Patrick learn anything form Pete 😲 ITS THE POINTY END 😂🤣😂🤣 And pancho will miss you all 😢😢 hi guys from Victoria Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Also Queensland. Cheers
Sunday mornings are always that little bit better with the latest ep from Tally Ho. Newcastle NSW
Well hell, Nowra on the South Coast of NSW may as well say g'day as well.
Yep Gday from Cessnock nsw near Newcastle i will miss seeing pancho after the move .
and Maryborough Victoria
Good to seep Patrick back again. Nice to see a master craftsman at work. The boat looked bigger to me when she was painted.
Meghan sounds like a useful person to have on the team!! Patrick at 6:15 made me laugh.
