I did the exact thing and presets don't even show up, its greyed out, does it not show when you start a new game should I wait until after the intro is done?
Though i am pretty late in the party just a reminder for those whose preset or some of the function which are not showing try to open game with f4se_loader which would be located in the same file as FO4

Just straight up doesn't work for me. The preset part is always greyed out no matter how many times i ensure the .Json files are where they need to be.

@@dreamshooter90 If you see a grayed out Preset option, this is due to the plugin not loading, typically meaning incompatible game version. You need to make sure F4se and looksMenu matches your game version.
Double check if you need to make the presets folder yourself that you don't name it preset instead of presets you can just alt tab and rename it with out restarting your game

Help! when i click on the data folder i dont see the F4SE folder. all i see is one yellow folder that says video and white documents with a lot of jibber jabber. please help, thanks!
in my F4EE folder, I only have "overlays" and "sliders" folders

Hi sry to ask, ive the preset folder , with alot presets installed in, but when i go in game , the preset word is grey, I cant click on it to load one.
after checking (i dont know why) but vortex telling me, vortex could not dectect F4SE, its strange
I downloaded the Lucy Maclean face preset yesterday but I don't know how to transfer the files so I can use it in-game?

I find that all the tutorials forget the most important point. After you copy the file into the folder. Go into the game again, Mod Management - select each mod and enable it. The game will reload and the mod will take effect.
where’s mod management
Funny how you say that, but then DONT tell us where mod management is. Doesn't really help a lot if we don't know where to look.

I don't have a preset folder!
I copied the Lana json file to my data directory where I found every single other mod. Followed every step here and I have the looksmenu R greyed out. Can’t figure it out. I have everything I guess I’m just not meant to use that face preset. Even on my vortex plug-ins it doesn’t show up but my mod section says it’s installed and enabled.
same thing for me dawg, might just go wit default nora cause this shi just too hard
@@toflo54 I got a face preset called Shannon and other mods that made her look gorgeous. If you want I can tell you what mods I’m using because honestly my character looks insanely good.

I was following this until "directory location" where/what is that?
an easy way to access it is going into your steam library, right clicking on the game you want to see the directory of, click on manage, then local files

I followed the video but i still do not have the preset. Do uk what could be the reason?
Make sure you have fallout extender installed and you are launching the game with that try temporarily disabling every other mod but looks menu and see if that fixes the in game preset not being there and slowly introduce each mod to the game enabling one at a time to see if there is a conflict. If you mean the folder preset in the fallout 4 directory then try installing with vortex the cute faces preset pack with the launcher this should create the correct pathway to then follow the video

tried to do it but my preset folder wasnt even there so i made one and it still doesnt work
download a presrt package from the nexus then enable and install it on the vortex launcher I recommend the cute faces preset as installing this on vortex made the folder location for me and it worked. I hope this helped. If it doesn't work then i have a few more methods to try for you.
Downloading one of this packages with a launcher rather than a manually wont install the preset you want but the package does the install for you creating the folder so then you can follow the video and manually install the preset.
@@jamcogaming1631 soo when i tried installing a preset called Josie i dont get a json file i get a XML document from the installed file and it dosent show up in game as a choosable preset its also the same thing with a presets. The only file that works is the Ellie one which is a Json? any hits

Try installing the cute faces presets manually with vortex then this should create the pathway you are missing then install the preset as I do in the video
