    This used to be a very haunting song live.

      Really wish they’d play it again live. Doubt it would ever happen though considering that it’s about Maynard’s mom, which is now an emotional topic for him considering that she’s passed.

    Favourite Tool song. I listened to it so many times (still do, that tone!), then got my first guitar to play it. Very beginner friendly song, I thought I was cheating by playing so much of it on the higher strings but you play even more on them and it sounds awesome, great cover!

    Thanks! I love the part that starts on 4:22... thanks for clearing that up for me. The tab shows something different on the first fret that always threw me off. Is this using the neck pickup?

      All bridge on this one, tone knob all the way down. That part is pretty hard to decipher, he mixes it up live a lot too, this is just my best guess.

      @@CameronWinters it's awesome that you have spent the time to learn to play these correctly (every detail) but it's just incredibly amazing that you are doing these videos and tabs so there learn as well. That's just being an all around good and decent person. I'm a lot older now and had to learn when we didn't have this type of tool and ended up just being wrong quite often lol. The next generation of players will better because of people like yourself. Keep up the good work. Much respect!

    I know you’ve been asked before .
    Are you using actual pedals or computer software? Thanks man!!!!

    • @CameronWinters
      @CameronWinters  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      All software. Waves GTR delay, Eventine Instant Flanger, Brainworx tube screamer, and Bluecat Patchwork wah.

      @douglasvaughn9349 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cameron Winters thank you for the reply. Do you use a volume pedal for your wah? And how do you change those effects on the fly?

    • @CameronWinters
      @CameronWinters  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have a Line 6 FBV3 midi controller that controls everything. I have a video called “How to Get the Jones Tonez” that has a shot of it at one point. You can also see my effects chain.

      Cameron Winters I will go look for it . I’m trying to get my setup for a pedal using bias fx

    • @CameronWinters
      @CameronWinters  5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      The strings ring behind the nut and it’s audible in recordings without it.

    • @evitative462
      @evitative462 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@101Lileagle it's just a thing guitarists often use while recording. They usually don't bother in live playing because it isn't very pronounced, but since a lot of people are recording at home these days you'll then just leave it on all the time.
