Justin said in interview that some song ideas were in the corner even before he joined the band. I feel like this song is the hidden gem in the last album. The song differs from the others and I get the vibes from Undertow to Aenima jump from it. So glad eventually they pieced it toghether so that we can see its final form. This video made me think of this after seeing yours and Max's covers on the new album. Great video dude!

For the intro/clean part, did you use different settings/gain levels on the plugin from the ones you show on your rig section? If you keep the same settings and you just roll down the volume pot on the guitar, the tone doesn't seem to clean up properly (like in your video)

Thank you! I just rolled the volume off, using the same amp settings. Difference guitars handle it differently, your results may vary. I find a good trick for the Fortin is to roll the volume off on the guitar slightly and then use a volume pedal to roll the volume down the rest of the way. Good luck!

The Fortin sounds spot on with my LP on those settings, totally worth the money!

OK. So as far as I know Tool hasn't played this song live yet. Since there are three guitars for over half the song does that mean Danny or Manyard would play the third guitar? I am confused.

There's a cover up on youtube with fuckin Danny playing the guitar. They're all sat down in a circle in the middle of the stage, it was such a good find. I think you'll easily find it by searching Culling Voices Live :)
