    The newer version of the audeze lcd 2 classic has a mesh grill instead of foam because the foam had issues with Staying on the grill in the inside Plus it improves air flow and releases Back pressure on the grill of the headphone

    What a great review. I have had these for one month and have the same feelings. They are special. I usually have few pairs od headphones and iems, objectively better and rotate them on daily basis. After buying these I listen only them. Today I tried Focal Utopia, great headphones from every perspective but after coming home I immediately wanted to listen these.

    Love your explanation and you are spot on.. LCD2's are real life audio warmth and intimate .. closest to a real good speaker like sound..

    Nice review! Just got these today actually. I've had the Audeze LCD XC (carbon) for awhile and those are so insanely detailed it's almost too intense sometimes. These 2Cs strike that perfect balance of detail, smoothness, soundstage, bass, midrange, (treble is fine but don't care that it's average) and as a package it's unreal!! Heard some nice cans but these are special.

    I just got these 2nd hand , absolutely fantastic headphones. granted they won't be for everyone because nothing is. but if you like them then you'll really like them.

    I use them in the studio. These reveal immediately every problem, I had to totally recollect my reference tracks. Low-end separation is just unreal. I just goes to a totally headphone setup for mixing with the 2C. Absolutely beautiful piece of gear.

    They are my first higher quality headphones, when I hear them for the first time my life changed because I wanted more. More headphones, more audio tech :), headphones like this deserve a better amp a better dac, even a better cable. Even if I have now many headphones 2C are still my baby

    How does thr Grado hemp compare? What kind of sound do you like? What I like is an accurate sound signature. Just the right amount of lower frequency in vocals without being bass heavy or on the other end not enough. I like instrument vocal separation like live music. I'm an audiophile but lack headphone experience.

    • @MasterMarslander
      @MasterMarslander  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So Grado is a dynamic driver, while the LCD is a planar driver. They operate quite differently and as a result the two technologies have some general characteristics. Dynamics are generally going to give you a warmer overall signature with some extra umph in the mid-bass, while planars will give you speed and potentially more punch in the sub-bass. Comparing the two, the Grado is more musical and flowy while the LCD is more precise and detailed.

    Hey
    I just got my lcd2C and paired it with mojo 2 and they sound good. The weight didn’t bother me that much. The ear pads are super smooth. I hope they don’t compress with time to the level that your ear lobes touch

    • @MasterMarslander
      @MasterMarslander  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine certainly haven't compressed in the several years I have had them, but even if they do they should be easy enough to replace. Glad you are enjoying them!

    In the past I've been more in the Hifiman Planar Game, which I really really like, especially the large egg shaped ones.
    But these Audeze's somehow get to me on a different level. Those badass looks, the rugged and heavy built, man they are just beautiful. Have not heard one yet, but I will definitely get one in the future.
    Whats also interesting about the Audeze lineup is their comparatively extremely low measured distortion levels, which is especially unique in the bass frequencies, as most headphones tend to distort there quite a bit.
    This means you basically have a blank paper which you can EQ however you like, without having to care much about increased distortion due to EQ boosts. Wanna add a 10dB Sub Bass boost? No problem :D

    • @MasterMarslander
      @MasterMarslander  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hifiman can make some pretty incredible stuff, some I've even explored here on the channel. The Audeze sound signature has a different flavor. I haven't tried EQing them yet, but you're right, they should be bosses at it.

    • @soulfulfool
      @soulfulfool 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I on the other hand never tried hifiman just because lame quality built and high price throw me off, love my 2C for as you mentioned spectacular bass its so well controlled, rich and on point. Dynamic drivers for twice the price cant stand a chance in that region, I will always be a fan of Audeze sound.

    How do the LCD 2C compare tuning wise to the GX? Which is better for vocal centric rick, metal and alternative? I found the LCD X a bit boring. Lastly did you have to EQ the LCD 2C?

    • @MasterMarslander
      @MasterMarslander  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't tried the GX so I can't comment on that, but compared to the LCD-X the 2C is not as clinical and a bit more fun to listen to. I have not EQed them.

      Well that's a tough call. Speakers are a whole different world and usecase. In general I'm more a headphone nerd than I am a speaker nerd, but you can definitely get some great speakers in this price range.

      @@towsifshahriarshovo I might even make the argument that you could get great sounding speakers for less money than maybe top tier headphone. I have a set of Jamo speakers that look and sound fantastic and they are sub-$300 for the pair. You can also go full DIY if you want and build your own speakers. When I picked these up a few years ago the case was an optional add-on. I saved a little by not going with it, but in retrospect I probably would of been happier had I added that case. This other one I have is just as good though, so no complaints.
