the author does like to from scratch, shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ as another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us dont have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we wont be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.
That pallet is in mint condition and all the lumber even looks freshly planed with all nice square edges. I’ve literally never seen a pallet that looks like this.. I’m guessing this pallet was built for the video

I worked in the trucking industry for 15 years almost 80% to 90% of pallets are reusable the pallet that you're showing us is so square it looks brand new most pallets have rounded edges
l have being saying this for a long time now on how new and un-used these pallets are that they use. The items that they make are good l won't take that away from them

It's rare to ever have a pallet as clean and sturdy as the one in this video. My pallets look like they fell out of an airplane and landed in the ocean where they spent five months at sea and then washed up on the shore and sat in the sun for six years.

@@tedsevilla1487 Yep, they are beat to death. Even new pallets have a rough look with lots of splinters all over them.
I have seen a few of these videos. I wonder where the craftsman gets his furniture grade pallets? I'd be interested.
My Sister owns a furniture store and when her couches and other furniture comes from the supplier it is on pallets like those. My Dad would always take them apart as they were screws and keep the lumber .
@@fernandoromero3649 must have been high end pallets. Most are made of very cheap wood and they use nails that once they are driven into the wood, you are hard pressed to get them out cleanly.
@@edwardcricchio6106 they are new wood as manufacturers don’t put new couches and such on dirty wood . However it is not top notch lumber but very clean as in the video. Mostly pine but on occasion something different, I want to say poplar but not quite sure .
@@fernandoromero3649 my father owned an upholstery shop. We worked on only top end furniture, new and re-upholstered. Never in the 35 years of his shop did he ever put his work on pallets. Just thought I'd tell you, it has nothing to do with the manufacturer factories of today's sofas and club chairs.

For starters, that's not an "old" pallet. Looks new to me. It'll take 4 or 5 old pallets to get enough usable lumber to do anything with.

If this is your old pallet I bet you new pallets are made of rare African Blackwood painted with a beautiful glossy finish all held together by individually hand forged solid gold screws

That pallet is fresh, like right out of the factory. It probably hasn’t anything put on it yet, or even seen a forklift.
I want to see a TH-camr make a really high-end looking pallet. High quality wood.. Sanded to a nice finish and stained, perfectly square, no knots.. Like a sharp looking pallet too nice to use lol.

And look at how easily they cut into whatever is being made.
If you have ever handled one..they are dark in color, weigh a ton..and are all beat up.
These 'pristine' light colored newly made crack me up.
Most pallets are colored and numbered for the company they belong to and they wear them out they always have rounded edges work in the truck trucking and industry for 15 years
