i love the model.. the technique.. and the finishing.. but i would love everything if the table and the bench were separated.. that would be more flexible to move here-and-there when sitting.. and when you need to load and move them.. it would be easier to set the space in the transportation..

Personally there is never such thing as scrap wood as you can find a use for even sawdust when wood working but that’s neither here or there. Depending on the work it was originally sourced for you can have enough good lengths and conditions to be useful for a project like this but surplus to its original use.

Definitely had a awesome plan but the execution was horrific!! Just look at the mortises being far to long (you can still them with cat playing), all the fitting are either slack or too tight (look when he turned the legs around cause they did fit, then they nearly fell over once swapped around),and he’d screwed long grain to cross grain with far too many screws. Absolutely no allowance for expansion. Piss poor joinery skills in my eyes. I think I could do better with a screwdriver and a rock!

That looks fantastic. The "butcher block" type pattern on the table and the "ribbed" pattern on the bench contrast nicely. Sorry, I don't know the jargon. I've watched a lot but have never had the chance to do any myself. I enjoyed the video and will definitely be watching more.

I remember when most garages in America had a shop full of good power tools, supplies and "Xtra" scrap wood lying around. Now maybe a couple handfuls of Great Craftsman. Good ol days long gone!
    Nice video though

I had an old carpenter friend that I did plastering work for that took 2x6’s, stained them dark brown, cut into 1/4” pieces and lay them out in a tile floor configuration, then take sawdust and mix with acrylic epoxy to use for the grout lines. Painstaking work but he did an awesome job!

@8:00 & @18:04 the seasonal expansion and contraction of large cross grain panels (seat and top) shouldn't be restricted or they will buckle during periods of high humidity and shrink/crack during low humidity. Normally one end can be a fixed mount with other needed mounts allowed to move laterally to avoid this problem.
