Fan of David Carr AND Derek Carr since their Fresno State days. As a life long Bulldog and Raider fan, I was heartbroken when Derek left the Raiders. My dream is to not only meet Derek, but David as well. I would really like to have Derek sign my throwback Raider helmet where Cliff Branch and Otis Sistrunk signatures are. Dude haven’t you seen Carr play with the Raiders. He sucks man. He doesn’t know how to use his legs to get out of pressure. Can’t make anything happen if the original play doesn’t go as planned. Panicks under pressure and always throws ball away. Doesn’t like to receive any type of contact. He plays scared out field. He’s the dink and dunk king. He’s getting paid like a top 10 QB not like a backup like he should. The saints will regret picking him up.

Great interview. Felt like 51:48 was a bit of a jab at Rich Gannon and his waffling opinions over the years. That same Gannon that played with hall of fame players in his tenure as a Raider. Overall happy for Derek, happy that Mark Davis was so kind, bc alot of this situation was caused by him. Wishing Derek nothing but the best in NO. It happened and it’s facts. I loved Gannon as a Raider QB but I heard his criticisms of Carr. Gannon had to HOF receivers including the Michael Jordan of receivers and an Olympic sprinter with Jett. Gannon also had a great O line with pro bowlers. Most importantly, he had a great defense. And with all that talent, Derek still broke all his Raider passing records whether career, single season, or single game. That might be the reason Gannon was the way he was towards Derek.

How many receivers have you seen play at a hall of fame level or even at a good level at those ages? It's very rare at that position at those ages. They were at the end of their careers, they were good at that stage but they weren't still at a hall of fame level at that age. The year they played tampa in the bowl Brown had 900 yards and 2 touchdowns for the season, Rice had 1200 yards and 7 touchdowns but still was 40 years old..he put up closer to 2000 yards in his prime...If you actually watched the Raiders back then the franchise was very average until Rich Gannon stepped on the scene along with Gruden n company. Rich was the MVP of the entire the league with 2 past their prime hall of famers. It's embarrassing thinking Carr is on gannons level

At the end of the day, I am remaining a part of Raider Nation, but will be following DC#4, hoping he remains successful, and gets to win a Super Bowl before everything is said and done. This was an awesome podcast! I subscribed while whatchng it. I'm a Raiders fan from as far back as Lamonica. Now I'm not just a Raiders fan but also a Huge DC4 fan! I cannot think of another player in the history of the game that I would rather have as a friend or family member. He is full of excellent qualities as a competitor and as a human being. For the past nine years he has been the only reason that I would have hope for a good Raider season. Now he is gone from the team and I now feel the most lack of hope that I have ever felt for an upcoming Raider season since I started rooting for them in 1971. If I were to use a two word prediction for the Raiders 2023 season I would have to say"DUMPSTER FIRE". As unlikely as it may have once seemed to me, I can honestly say that if the Saints were to play the Raiders right now, I would be rooting for the saints. that will likely be true untill Josh McDaniels has been fired or DC is not playing for the Saints. Difficult times for me in as a Raiders fan for sure. I see reason for great hope for the Saints season. I believe that both the Saints and the city of New Orleans will be blessed by the presence of Derek Carr. I'm sad for the Raiders but I'm so happy for DC now that he won't be wasting his tme with a one of the worst football organizations the last three decades. At one point in the interview I realized that DC reminded me of one of my favorite baseball players of my life time, that player is Will " the thrill" Clark. Even then back in the 80 's, WC seemed like a throwback ball player. Hard nosed no nonsense with a great affection for the game and playing it at 100 percent all the time. I believe WC also grew up in Texas. When I would talk to people about WC, I would often say that I felt that if you had a time machine you could drop WC into any previous time in baseball and he would have been respected by his teammates and opponents as a player and a leader of men. I feel the same way about DC as a competitor and a man. For me the good news is that I now have a reason to to root for another teams success! I have never rooted for another team outside my three favorite's, that is, the Raiders, SF giants and the Warriors. But if I can afford it this year, I will be buying a DC/Saints jersey. It will be the first time I've ever bought a players jersey. I've bought Raders gear before but nothing player specific. I believe the Saints still can remember the smell of victory and I think DC has arrived in just the right place at the right time. I predict that DC's greatest success is by far still to come and I'm excited to watch it unfold Once again, FANTASTIC interview!!! I don't remember ever seeing a better more joyful one.

I hoped you would be Raider. I know you have at least a couple of Super Bowl victories in you. I was a Raider Season Ticket holder and had a chance to see some great games! My favorite DC4 Raiders memory will always be the Battle of the Bay his rookie season. Throwing a TD to his tackle, scraping the Whiners in Oakland and knocking them out of the playoff picture was so sweet. That was the day the Raiders became DC's team imo.
Saints fan my whole life. Derek Carr sounds like a stand up guy, a leader and truly believes in himself. I love his mentality and eagerness to get to work and be successful with his new team. I appreciate the guys on the team have been reaching out and want to start building that chemistry together already, like MT has. I also appreciate his redemption story. With all that being said, my opinion is I don't believe Derek Carr really wanted to come play for the Saints and DA, I don't blame him at this point DA has been a bust of a HC but he is an amazing DC. Sounds like he wanted to go to the Jets but he felt like he wasn't there 1st option, he was there back up plan to Rodgers and he didn't want to get left behind during free agency without a job or sign as a back up. Truly I don't fully believe in Carr yet till he proves it in N.O. but I don't really believe in DA yet either till he proves it. I feel DA wants to redeem himself and prove why he drafted Carr and hopes Carr can save his job as HC. Now with that said I'm a Saints fan through and through so I hope everyone stays healthy this season, that's the first battle and Carr can prove he can take that next step as a great QB with the Saints. This next season is gonna make or break the current regime in N.O. and determine what our future is gonna be. I have been a Raider fan since 1977. Over the years I have begun to realize that is not all about winning. If that was the reason how could I still be a Raider fan? No. It is about the Players. I just want to say that Derek Carr is one of my Favorite Raiders. It was a shame the management could never get a top 10 defense to give Derek a chance to win the Super Bowl. I will never be a saints fan but I will definitely cheer for the Raiders Legend! Been a Raider fan for over 50 years. DC4 is in my top 3 of all time with Allen and Snake. I was crushed the way the Raiders handled DC's final days as a Raider but LOVE the way DC handled it all. I can't wait to watch him ball out with the Saints. I will never cheer against him as an individual and the only time I will cheer against the Saints is when they play the Raiders.

Regardless of production or wins. Carr has always been against all odds and proved thru thick & thin he’s a leader in the locker room. This previous season was hard to watch due to the fact that we expected more with the offensive weapons! By far one of the most frustrating seasons as a fan! No matter how shady the organization might’ve handled it. He continues to be a stand up guy with top tier Character. Raiders fan for life and DC4 was my favorite player for years. i truly wish he does well. Favorite moments were when they beat the Chargers to get the playoffs in 16, and that epic playoff run in 21. Worst moment was the last game in Oakland against the Jags. refs blew a call but DC shouldn't have slide. 54-0 against the Rams, and the broken ankle in 16. Good luck DC!

This was an awesome podcast! I subscribed while whatchng it. I'm a Raiders fan from as far back as Lamonica. Now I'm not just a Raiders fan but also a Huge DC4 fan! I cannot think of another player in the history of the game that I would rather have as a friend or family member. He is full of excellent qualities as a competitor and as a human being. For the past nine years he has been the only reason that I would have hope for a good Raider season. Now he is gone from the team and I now feel the most lack of hope that I have ever felt for an upcoming Raider season since I started rooting for them in 1971. If I were to use a two word prediction for the Raiders 2023 season I would have to say"DUMPSTER FIRE".
As unlikely as it may have once seemed to me, I can honestly say that if the Saints were to play the Raiders right now, I would be rooting for the saints. that will likely be true untill Josh McDaniels has been fired or DC is not playing for the Saints. Difficult times for me in as a Raiders fan for sure.
I see reason for great hope for the Saints season. I believe that both the Saints and the city of New Orleans will be blessed by the presence of Derek Carr. I'm sad for the Raiders but I'm so happy for DC now that he won't be wasting his tme with a one of the worst football organizations the last three decades.
At one point in the interview I realized that DC reminded me of one of my favorite baseball players of my life time, that player is Will " the thrill" Clark. Even then back in the 80 's, WC seemed like a throwback ball player. Hard nosed no nonsense with a great affection for the game and playing it at 100 percent all the time. I believe WC also grew up in Texas. When I would talk to people about WC, I would often say that I felt that if you had a time machine you could drop WC into any previous time in baseball and he would have been respected by his teammates and opponents as a player and a leader of men. I feel the same way about DC as a competitor and a man.
For me the good news is that I now have a reason to to root for another teams success! I have never rooted for another team outside my three favorite's, that is, the Raiders, SF giants and the Warriors. But if I can afford it this year, I will be buying a DC/Saints jersey. It will be the first time I've ever bought a players jersey. I've bought Raders gear before but nothing player specific.
I believe the Saints still can remember the smell of victory and I think DC has arrived in just the right place at the right time. I predict that DC's greatest success is by far still to come and I'm excited to watch it unfold

Love DC#4! I cried when he got benched. I’ve been a Raider fan since ‘78 and have never felt so ticked off as the ‘22 season. I’ve loved everything Derek has stood for since day one. Jimmy G can’t hold a candle to you. I’m torn with switching teams. I might be old enough to be your grandmother (63), but you are such a handsome, down to earth guy. Hey DC4! I’m a HUGE Raider fan….. I grew up in Fresno since 72. I learned to love Jesus in Fresno. (So Grateful) I went to a couple of Fresno State games and saw the possibilities. I hoped you would be Raider. I know you have at least a couple of Super Bowl victories in you. I was a Raider Season Ticket holder and had a chance to see some great games! Remember that God wants to give you the desires of your heart. You also have to go out there a take it. Don’t let the enemy take your blessings. Guard them with your heart and you abilities! My favorite DC4 Raiders memory will always be the Battle of the Bay his rookie season. Throwing a TD to his tackle, scraping the Whiners in Oakland and knocking them out of the playoff picture was so sweet. That was the day the Raiders became DC's team imo.
Saints fan my whole life. Derek Carr sounds like a stand up guy, a leader and truly believes in himself. I love his mentality and eagerness to get to work and be successful with his new team. I appreciate the guys on the team have been reaching out and want to start building that chemistry together already, like MT has. I also appreciate his redemption story. With all that being said, my opinion is I don't believe Derek Carr really wanted to come play for the Saints and DA, I don't blame him at this point DA has been a bust of a HC but he is an amazing DC. Sounds like he wanted to go to the Jets but he felt like he wasn't there 1st option, he was there back up plan to Rodgers and he didn't want to get left behind during free agency without a job or sign as a back up. Truly I don't fully believe in Carr yet till he proves it in N.O. but I don't really believe in DA yet either till he proves it. I feel DA wants to redeem himself and prove why he drafted Carr and hopes Carr can save his job as HC. Now with that said I'm a Saints fan through and through so I hope everyone stays healthy this season, that's the first battle and Carr can prove he can take that next step as a great QB with the Saints. This next season is gonna make or break the current regime in N.O. and determine what our future is gonna be. Soo good luck Carr and DA, wish yall the best and will be rooting for yall to prove me and the league wrong.

I have been a Raider fan since 1977. Over the years I have begun to realize that is not all about winning. If that was the reason how could I still be a Raider fan? No. It is about the Players. I just want to say that Derek Carr is one of my Favorite Raiders. It was a shame the management could never get a top 10 defense to give Derek a chance to win the Super Bowl. I will never be a saints fan but I will definitely cheer for the Raiders Legend! Also, I probably have very little chance to sit down and speak to Derek on earth; However, I will be seeing you when we get to the heavens.
Been a Raider fan for over 50 years. DC4 is in my top 3 of all time with Allen and Snake. I was crushed the way the Raiders handled DC's final days as a Raider but LOVE the way DC handled it all. I can't wait to watch him ball out with the Saints. I will never cheer against him as an individual and the only time I will cheer against the Saints is when they play the Raiders.

Regardless of production or wins. Carr has always been against all odds and proved thru thick & thin he’s a leader in the locker room. This previous season was hard to watch due to the fact that we expected more with the offensive weapons! By far one of the most frustrating seasons as a fan! No matter how shady the organization might’ve handled it. He continues to be a stand up guy with top tier Character. Raiders fan for life and DC4 was my favorite player for years. i truly wish he does well. Favorite moments were when they beat the Chargers to get the playoffs in 16, and that epic playoff run in 21. Worst moment was the last game in Oakland against the Jags. refs blew a call but DC shouldn't have slide. 54-0 against the Rams, and the broken ankle in 16.
