So much to love here… not only are you a super-talented artist, but your video is full of helpful information, details and specifics about your tools and techniques. The editing is crisp, audio clear, and no time-wasting filler that you find in so many videos these days. It's also great to see how your spreads develop over time. Initially, you complete the head drawings, then consider the backgrounds and finally the spaces between heads and the overall composition. Fantastic work. Kudos, and thanks for sharing!

its really important as an artist to be unafraid of "bad" drawings or subject matter thats "too complex" for our skill level, the best way to grow as an artist is to try new things and draw everyday and keep revisiting the basics!!!
Jess, I can't even say how much your work inspires! You're incredible. I'd love it if you'd create an in-depth portrait drawing tutorial covering how to create realistic/well-proportioned faces like you've done here. Thanks for being your amazing self :)
This is INCREDIBLE. Every single portrait was breathtaking and you mastered every medium. I'm 15 and I'm trying to learn how to draw. I just started this challenge and I'm having trouble with starting the head, the proportions, and the shading. Would you have any advice?
Andrea Michel Hi Andrea, if you are still interested you could try reading Andrew Loomis - drawing the head and the hands, it was great for me to begin with
Or you can watch proko's tutorial about drawin the head from any angle based on the loomis method which is very heplful to understand some basic head proportions
From someone who practiced for years, not getting anywhere, my first advice to anyone now, is to keep practising basic shapes, like lines, circles aso over and over until they go down as you wanted them to. You can have all the knowledge and understanding in the world, but if your hand doesnt put it where you planned, it will never look right. Even when I drew something that impressed others, I always disliked it, because it wasnt what I was trying to do. In a few weeks of doing the super boring straight lines and such, I improved more than I had for years.
it's orignally one of the best art youtuber i've ever seen i am saying this after orignally watching kinda greatest from greatest youtubers for example jazza moriah elizabeth kesh makonicco kembart art academy draw with waffles etc

I just started this challenge today, and drawing realistically (not to mention portraits) is a tough one for me. I love your portraits. I hope by the end of the 100 I have my skills back ;)
This was so good. I'm in the middle of this challenge right now, so it was inspiring, especially for a beginner like me. Loved all the mediums. You need to get some affiliate links cuz I definitely want to buy some stuff now, hah.
okay but seriously...It's really refreshing to see an artist that is using all these different mediums. It's something that I've visualized and want to do but keep getting told that it's not possible to be able to do all of them well and that you need to specialize to get a job. you bring out the WATCH ME attitude in myself and I'm just so damn grateful for you pursuing your dreams and not letting those thoughts/people's opinions of what art "should be" affect your expression. Much love
Who is telling you to stick to one medium? I personally find that you improve your skill on every medium, everytime you practice any of them and doing different mediums keeps it interesting = more practice time. Also never met a succesful artist that was a one trick pony, even if their pieces for sale was one type, they could pick up basically anything and create awesome art.
I would love to try this challenge. I tend to get lost in the details sometimes. With watercolor or gouache maybe I'll finally get the hang of color blocking.

I tried to start this challenge today, but I drew for 4 hours and only did 6 portraits. How many hours a day did you spend on these? I’d like to set a goal for myself that’s similar to you because yours are just so stunning.
Sounds like you’re spending way too much time per portrait. You can set a certain amount of time you want to dedicate to the challenge per day , divide that by 10, and then time yourself on each drawing accordingly. 25 min per portrait = 2.5 hours, etc.
absolutely incredible!! What talent. I could watch you sketch/draw/paint/ink allllll day. Hopeing one day (after lots and years of practice) I too will be proud of drawings like yours.
Thanks! I went to school for art, but i lived in New York City and would practice drawing everyone on the train every single day on my ride to school. Lots of drawing from life and practice, and some teachers should be proportions, but since i love it so much - i always try and practice and do research to improve - hope this helps :)
Wow! My favorites have to be the first ones with pencil, the one in a upside u and the following one with ink washes. But the ones with color also look so beautiful.
funkyraisin Sammmmmmmeeeeee, I was just thinking about that. I find even myself drawing like so. I would like to switch it up and try to learn for myself as well. It’s hard when all your favorite artists and animators gravitate towards the same beauty standards and it ends up being their style XD I mean they are cute honestly, but sometimes it’s nice to see something new. It’s so weird how subconscious it is, like I don’t blame anyone, but at the same time you have to force yourself to look at things in a different angle. Hopefully I can learn new forms and diversify my art when I get the chance :-)
Thank you for sharing, it's super inspiring. I have to take a closer look and how you layering watercolour on spread 3. It's always kind of a huge challenge for me.
I always come back to all your videos and they give me so much energy and motivation!!!! This is one of my fav vids. @Same tho 😂😂
Your paintings and sketches are just incredible. I saw some 100heads wideo but I haven’t expected such wide range of technics in one wideo. Respect 🙂
Lmao “maybe you haven’t opened your sketchbook in like, months”
Oop there it iiiiiisss 😂
Wow! My favorites have to be the first ones with pencil, the one in a upside u and the following one with ink washes. But the ones with color also look so beautiful.
thanks!
i really hate that people only ever draw/ paint bratzdoll-like girls like lets mix it up yeess
funkyraisin Sammmmmmmeeeeee, I was just thinking about that.
It's always kind of a huge challenge for me.
i'm just so proud i recognized yeojin. amazing work btw!
the 3rd and 4th pages are definitely my fave wow!
I always come back to all your videos and they give me so much energy and motivation!!!! This is one of my fav vids. I have been unmotivated to draw or do anything art related for over a year because of school-work but after re-watching your videos, I am proud to say that I actually filled a spread in my sketchbook yesterday!!!!! Thank you!!!!💕💕💕
You killed it! Love the variety of mediums and color palettes you used. Also your voice is soothing and not annoying so it was easy to sit thru the entire video and just watch you work.
I honestly love how you edited each portrait at the end. It’s hard to pick a favorite bc/ I honestly loved them all.
OMG! I am in love with your watercolor method! I'd love to see you talk through it! What a joy!
Your version of the challenge is phenomenal! Thanks for sharing it with all of us! What a treat!
