@3:20: Indeed, when the Portuguese, Spanish, and French were travelling across oceans, they used the Pacific islands as pit-stops for experimental farming, before exporting them to Asia, which is where Asia got Latin American produce from. But in the case of breadfruit, it was the other way around; originally from Papua New Guinea and the Philippines before making its way to Latin America.

I really love you both and this amazing video! The nature, flowers, waterfalls and beaches and trails are tremendous fantastic! I intended going there in summer 2020, now, I hope joining this paradise in summer 2022. Would you recommend taking three days for doing the road to Hana? And do you have an overall recommendation how much time is usefull for the most popular islands and is it usefull doing more than, for example, two islands as Maui, Oahu oder Big Island? Nice greets from Germany, Pascal
Hello Pascal...thanks for watching. To answer your questions I have several question. Are you traveling only to Hawaii or is it part of a USA trip? I hope you make that trip in 2022 you will not be disappointed. If I were to travel Hawaii again this is how I would approach it. Oahu and Maui are the most popular islands with lots to do. Then the Big Island. Are you are a person who likes to sit on the beach and swim and relax or would you rather be more active? A 7 to 10 day trip I would limit to 2 islands and create a combination of sun/sand/surf and then renting a car to visit the big tourism spots. Snowbirds spend a week mid-winter on 1 island soaking it all in. Hana, if you are one to get up early you can do it in a day, 2 if you want to stop at every site...but I think one is good enough. The hike at the end is the gem so aim to reach that mid day and then catch some spots on the way back too.. Remember, there is the big volcano/mountain too to see...we did not cover. That would be a day of its own. I hope that helps a little
@@RenataPereiraTV Hello Renata. Many thanks for your response. I am able of taking off 4 to 4,5 weeks. I am thinking of visiting Los Angeles for 7 or 8 nights - arriving from Frankfort or Amsterdam. I like a combination of different activities. As some islands have nice black or white or green (?) beaches I prefer snorkeling, sun bathing, enjoying sun sets. But I have never experienced an active volcano Kilauea and have never seen real lava (is it really possible seeing this orange lit sky at night, going to the park at night respectively seeing some lava in general or are they keeping the tourists so much distanced that once can´t see lava by his real eyes? Furthermore, I have seen great pictures of whom people had been walking on roads paved with cooled lava) I have also never experienced real rainforest. I have never had a bath in tropical waterfalls. And you have visited that great cave there. I am so mesmerized by the light and beautiful flowers there captured in your videos. The greenery fascinates me, there. I am not that big hiker, although I am motivated hiking a day, if worthwile. The Pearl Harbor satisfies some technical and historical passion, of course. And an airplane ride to and over Kauai for maybe half a day would be great, as I have read that there are not the best walking trails or beaches, etc. Maybe I can enjoy these activities in Oahu, Maui, Big Island within let´s say 16 to 17 nights regarding your recommendation. I have heard that there are celebrations each Friday? Yes, I am hoping doing this in 2022. The advantage is that you could safe some money during this bad times..
Well then I think visiting 3 islands is great. Be careful, Hawaii is expensive as its in the middle of the Pacific and everything is imported. Summer should be cheaper since Hawaii is a big winter vacation for N Americans and Japanese as well. Everything we did is achievable by most tourists as none was difficult. to make it worthwhile do visit the 3 islands...they are all very different and having a healthy balance of nature and beaches. Also, check online for active volcanoes, there were none when we were there so no lava flow. Lastly, 2022 is good since rental car companies are charging a lot and rentals can be hard to find since we are all getting out now. So cool for you!
@@RenataPereiraTV Hello Renata! Many thanks for your hint regarding the quiet high exposures. Therefore, I intend visiting Hawaii during European summer months June, July or August, September. That´s a great combination the nature and beaches. Some Pearl Harbor as well as Volcanoes. If there are no active ones that is not dramatic. In coming years I am trying to visit the South Sea like Vanuatu with its Volcano which is hopefully active then.. Thanks for the advice regarding rental cars. I have heard about it in German News. So nice writing with you! Pascal
*@**6:41**: To Renata or any other Lusophones...* I'm just curious if Portuguese makes a word distinction between literal and figurative "light". In French, for example, the generic word for "light" is simply *"lumière"* (fem.); but when there is a contrast between "light vs. dark", then a good word would be *"lueur"* (fem.), meaning a "beam" or "glimmer". So if someone is crawling through a cave, and all they have to see with is a flashlight, then it would be called a "lueur". *Does Portuguese have that as well?*

Total exaggeration!…Today we just drove the Road to Hana 11/23/21. We literally spent the day driving the tight curves. Before arriving to Maui, we’ve watched and thumbed up the millions of these TH-camrs talking about Maui and particularly the road to Hana. Today after the long trip, we can say that, the R2H it’s just a total marketing amplification out of proportion - glad you are getting those views. Just a few examples , the black sands beach are a no go w/o the required appointment. The famous pools at the National park at the end and the famous red sand beach are closed. I wish you would’ve said something about it. Hours of tiring stressful driving and lots of construction traffic bottleneck jams.
Hi Leo, sorry to hear about your experience. As informed at 0:52, this trip was before the pandemic. We truly had a great time enjoying nature, didn't need any reservation, and all attractions were fully functional and open. There were no constructions either. Based on your feedback, a lot has changed, unfortunately. Hope when all this is over this drive becomes a nice adventure again.
Ms. Renata, when will you go to Indonesia again? My advice if you go to Indonesia again, visit my city in Bandung, West Java. Here, there are many amazing natural, cultural, and culinary sights and attractions as well as a typical cold.

In coming years I am trying to visit the South Sea like Vanuatu with its Volcano which is hopefully active then.. Thanks for the advice regarding rental cars. I have heard about it in German News. So nice writing with you! Pascal
*@**6:41**: To Renata or any other Lusophones...*
I'm just curious if Portuguese makes a word distinction between literal and figurative "light".
We have that for certain words, but not for light. In Portuguese, we simply say "luz" in all cases 😉
Wonderful hiking to tropical paradise. U should have packed a light food, like sandwiches n drinks, n have a picnic.
Yes a great idea. We snacked in the car as we drove

Is there a direct flight from Hawaii to KL? What's d nearest airport from d mainland USA to d Hawaiian islands?
I am not sure. I did a quick search and the best route was thru Narita which is in Tokyo.
@@RenataPereiraTV Thanks a lot. 😁🇲🇾😁
So the hike took 2 hours or 4 hours?
2 hours in total for the first hike (waterfalls). The other hike (until the natural pools and the ocean) is much faster

Spectacular waterfalls next to the gorgeous ocean, summertime all year round - what better paradise could you ask for?
Couldn't agree more!😀👍
Kapan balik lagi ke indonesia Renata
Semoga virus corona cepat berakhir :)
Ya, Corona Kita Selesai! Ketika Indonesia terbuka dan kita bisa terbang maka kita akan mulai merencanakannya.👍😀

Hawaii airlines are doing the nonstop service to Florida
Most people connect with the west coast of the USA
This is So' beautiful. Hawai = Kepulauan yang di kelilingi samudra, luas wilayahnya sama dengan di kepulauan Riau,Indonesia. Atau gak NTT
Ms. Renata, when will you go to Indonesia again? My advice if you go to Indonesia again, visit my city in Bandung, West Java. Here, there are many amazing natural, cultural, and culinary sights and attractions as well as a typical cold.
Saya yakin banyak kesamaan ... vulkanik, budaya yang berbeda
We will return and Bandung will be the first place we stop....we just wait to be able to return
yes thank you ... I'm waiting for a video vlog in Bandung, Indonesia🙏🙏😁. Yes, I hope the corona goes away soon🤲
