Seeing the league characters in shorts like this has made me fall in love with some of them more than I ever thought I would. Really lets their personality and design shine
I don't think I'll ever fully like League Rito, but I have been absolutely in love with their world building since day one. So when they said they'd finally be releasing some story in their big reveal stream I cummeded all over myself.
I sometimes rewatch this short for these 2 lines “A thousand years? How does that even work?!” And “Find someone else to feed your monster!” The timing and delivery are just pure comedy gold.
If an environment your body is in is too small for you to operate then you dont have any chances to get out off of it, your position in society or status won't help you either.
Most of the animations are made by contracted companies, not by riot themselves. The quality always seems so purrfect, but its also great to dig deeper and find out which company really produced the animations :)
When TF said "Just another beautiful day in bilgewater" and Graves replied "It really is" like this is the norm in bilgewater, a bunch of shooting and chasing and being caught and getting away. It just amazes and amuses me at the same time.
Pretty much. Only time they ever shoot to kill is if there is severe bad blood between each other like in the Gangplank Arc where they(almost) killed him.
Even with subtitles I didn't catch that line. Mostly just "Did she say a thousand years? How does that even work? Some kind of time-travel?" And "I got 20 years max, man"
These cinematics have been great, every one of them, but this one might be the best so far It was fast, fun, witty and exciting Also I love how the characters act with each other, like at the end, Miss Fortune clearly had nothing against them and them nothing against her, it was all just business and it was great The giving the card back to Twisted Fate was perfect Can't forget to mention the voice acting too, Riot always does well with working with voice actors but they really nailed it
that is what i find interesting about bilgewater: it has no real good or evil characters. all the representatives are either forces of nature or just people doing what they can to survive. while no one is squeaky clean, you understand why they do what they do (even MF, the closest to a good guy, was motivated by revenge and did not care what she had to do to get it)
I don't know why but all this characters act so kind and sympathic. Even the fight felt like a gentle play with each other, that I felt so weird just like a complete new sort of happiness after this cinematic 😋 My favorite episode to this date🤗

I like twisted fate in this. He always seemed like a smooth operator and he still sort of has that charm but it's superficial and he's actually just a lovable doofus.
When TF is at his best he's an absolute suave chad, teleporting with a wink out of being surrounded with a bag full of gold and a fancy tip of the hat. Buuuuut when things go wrong... just a stumbling swindler in a two piece suit. Course that's why he works so well with Graves, who is either too brave or too stupid to realize when things are going wrong and just bullies his way out of bad situations.
I love how Graves' response to the declaration he will be tormented for a thousand years is not just to be afraid or angry, but simply question, "How does that even work?" Never change, Gravesie.
Love all the interactions with all these 3 characters. Esp Graves acting like a shoot first talk later kinda person. Although I wish MF had her voice lines in game updated to fit her ACTUAL personality in the lore
I love how much action was in this one, we got old characters and perfect representations for them too, plus we get to see tf in action, which was something I was hoping for, for a while.
He was much more "in action" in the A Twist of Fate cinematic than this one, but seeing how exactly his cards are used, including the ultimate, was pretty awesome
I love this, it's not some gritty reality, bilge water is like a crime comedy movie, if you don't count pyke, and as soon as it gets too serious (like 1,000yrs of torture) they bail eachother out
I'm almost certain that while a fair bit of it gets handled inhouse, there's still a lot getting outsourced. For instance the guys at FORTICHE handled a large chunk of the RISE, Warriors, Popstars and almost everything in between.

Can't forget to mention the voice acting too, Riot always does well with working with voice actors but they really nailed it

that is what i find interesting about bilgewater: it has no real good or evil characters. all the representatives are either forces of nature or just people doing what they can to survive. while no one is squeaky clean, you understand why they do what they do (even MF, the closest to a good guy, was motivated by revenge and did not care what she had to do to get it)

When TF is at his best he's an absolute suave chad, teleporting with a wink out of being surrounded with a bag full of gold and a fancy tip of the hat.
Buuuuut when things go wrong... just a stumbling swindler in a two piece suit. Course that's why he works so well with Graves, who is either too brave or too stupid to realize when things are going wrong and just bullies his way out of bad situations.

I love how much action was in this one, we got old characters and perfect representations for them too, plus we get to see tf in action, which was something I was hoping for, for a while.
He was much more "in action" in the A Twist of Fate cinematic than this one, but seeing how exactly his cards are used, including the ultimate, was pretty awesome
