I think this animation is the most talked about cuz of the fact that it has the most personality from them all. Like the others were great, but here the interaction between the characters and how they bounce off each other is on another level :D Btw does someone has The Road to El Dorado vibes :D
I want to say they wanted to communicate something very specific with the gunfight sequence. Violence in bilgewater isn't a tool or a means like it is in Noxus. Here, violence is a language. Bilgewater is almost exclusively populated by crazy people, who say hello in gunfire. They trust untrustworthy people to be untrustworthy in their favor. Notice that neither character who wears a hat is wearing one. TF for obvious reasons, but he isn't wearing his coat either. This isn't a tense hostage situation, this is two friends having lunch, negotiating a deal, waiting for the third friend to arrive. The guns in use also communicate this absurd language of theirs. Miss fortune only uses one gun the entire scene, because she isn't trying to hurt anyone. She doesn't say anything directly to Graves because she's communicating in her gunfire that she isn't trying to kill anyone. Graves in turn communicates In a big ass shotgun, loud and inneloquent, and sometimes he shoots blanks to scare people. TF in turn when they gain the upper hand communicates the same thing to MF, we don't want to kill you but we stand to benefit.
@@TBSkyen I know you joke a lot about your videos being too damn long, but I honestly love these in depth breakdowns and if it takes you 1 hour or 2 hours to get through that I'm fine with it.
The first scene, with mf sitting in the table, the gun on the table, the chair and the window behind... Imediately give me flashback to the art of the "FIRE TIDE" event, from years ago. Specifically the login screen of mf in the game launcher
I actually can see how Graves wanted 70 - 30. Unlike TF he had some jailtime without income, while his partner was gambling away during that time making a fortune °v°
Thought on why the card clips at 41:00 Since the card dominates your focus as the scene starts, they have his fingers clip so that your eye can stay on the card; which is the focus of the scene. That was the eye doesn't focus on graves as he pics it up, then has to jump back to the card as the mind realizes we're still focused on the card not graves himself.
I like the implication from both the dead eyes and slack-jawed lipsyncing that the sea witch come to collect our gay couple is just a puppet for the strange sea creature on her head who is the one actually doing the talking.
i think the thing about MF and Graves never hitting each other isn't necessarily because of the genre/medium. Sure, that's part of it; but I really think that neither WANT to hit the other. Of course they're rivals and probably want each other's bounties, but at the end of the day, they still owe each other from the whole GP episode. They don't want each other dead; and if there's a bounty they'll bring the others in alive, because they know that they'll escape somehow. It's a game to them, it's fun - it's a con all three of them are running, and it's DELIGHTFUL
"no shirimian cinematic bc targon is the only one confirmed" ok, i have more time to make animated gif of my persona going absolutely nuts and doing orangejustice to release as a reaction when shurima finally comes out

Oho! Future Skyen came from DS to help RuneterraSkyen. What a helpfull and selfless individual. He helps all the diffenrent skyens. What a great insite in the skyen multiverse.
there's also this nice camera effect when tf is catching the card, the background zooms out and tf zooms in, having this cool visuals like that of doctor strange :D
also I love how twisted fate reacts to grave's overreacting he knows what she is up to in a way thats why he simply "throws" question away "well we share I am not gonna fight over it" and graves starts a fight despite of that and he is like "ARE YOU THAT DUMB WE ARE WORKING WE CAN DO THIS LATER" and after some time he insists so much he loses focus from miss fortune from annoyence and you can see that you too mentioned he is still pointing gun to her UNTIL he is too much annoyed making sure graves shut up is his priority by the way another thing with fortune: She can be flirty too... when she is honest she flirsts literlly like this so you can actually see how good liar she is because what makes you liar isnt "oh hey this guy is telling me this" no... what makes you good liar if your body language consistently doing same thing under same events despite saying lie or not she will do , say same things, literally. that makes you good liar . She is not acting, she is literally flirting with them BUT she doesnt want to flirt she lies so good she is doing it!
I would like to point out that the flames that burst out of the red card after Miss Fortune shuffles them appear in a spinning, circular pattern, which may or may not be a reference to how the red card works in the game.
I agree with everything you pointed out about them not aiming correctly BUT graves doesn't actually want to hurt people if it's not necessary. The phrase in his bio literally says “We’re here for your gold, not your heads… so don’t nobody decide to be a hero.”.
i dunno if its been said yet- but i think the reason why they made graves kinda clip behind tf's card on the floor is to keep the card readable in the scene? like if graves' hand was in front of it, it'd be harder to see exactly what he was grabbing? idk, just a guess.
Cool, nice to see Skyen switched to a different media player. I'm sure it took a little adjustment (or just changing up key bindings) but it looked like it made a nice difference in jumping around the video and didn't have to fiddle with video quality. This is probably my favorite short they've done of the bunch, partly because I tend to quite like the region and characters, but also because it really gives us a really good view of these characters. The shifts in tones we see from them is just fun; Miss Fortune switches from her playful demeanor while Twisted Fate has his calm gambler. Graves is a little less pronounced, since we don't really get that banter near the start, but it helps highlight his shifts up and down. I think the biggest "problem" so to speak that I had was with the character design of Twisted Fate and Miss Fortune. Graves is pretty spot on, but TF (perhaps lacking the hat) felt slightly off and Sarah's hair doesn't have it's usual volume making it so I wasn't entirely certain it was her at first.
The reason the card is like that is most likely so the bright color can guide the eye for longer, the finger would block it and some people would not catch that.
Fun fact: TF is hanging EXACTLY like the tarot card for the hanged man
I saw that too. It's a nice trivia

Me: Oh boy, now that all the shorts are done, we can finally get to "What's the deal with Fiddlesticks"
Riot: You fool. You absolute buffoon. We're not done. We're never done
I think this animation is the most talked about cuz of the fact that it has the most personality from them all. Like the others were great, but here the interaction between the characters and how they bounce off each other is on another level :D Btw does someone has The Road to El Dorado vibes :D
Riot: Killing my dreams of an all-lady crew, but fulfilling my dreams of Captian Sea-Mom. That, plus TFXGraves, and I call it even. :P
idiot pirate husbands barely scape cthulhu hhahahahaha best title ever and extremely accurate too
Loved this short! It‘s so well composed and animated. I especially love when the card flys towards TF with what looks like a dolly zoom effect!
Man spends an hour talking about adventures of dumb gay couple. And I love it
10:31 no hitting, but that looks like a mean kick to the stomache
In heels
Mark Lorence Quiambao I was about to say that
say what you will, but Bilgewater has the best theme song. Also side note you actually see Twisted fate's hat on the chair across from Miss Fortune.
I wonder which he grabbed first during his escape, the deck or the hat?
If Riot recently confirmed Diana x Leona, I hope they confirm these two too!
Yessssss, gimme!
There is just BROTHERHOOD

Great news!
@@ashesfromtheheavens3716 I know!!!!!!!! I feel so dang vindicated :D
I'm sad we actually didn't see the 2 other TF's cards, the red one was beautiful ! Also, I didn't know there was a special card for his ultimate
More like, T B Skyen has a hysterical fit over two dumb married pirates for an hour straight. Yes, please!
Oh my god, yes, I needed another TB Skyen 1 hour video 😍😍😍
Enjoy!
@@TBSkyen I know you joke a lot about your videos being too damn long, but I honestly love these in depth breakdowns and if it takes you 1 hour or 2 hours to get through that I'm fine with it.
Make "Animating on Twos" a shirt on your merch store
The first scene, with mf sitting in the table, the gun on the table, the chair and the window behind... Imediately give me flashback to the art of the "FIRE TIDE" event, from years ago. Specifically the login screen of mf in the game launcher
I actually can see how Graves wanted 70 - 30. Unlike TF he had some jailtime without income, while his partner was gambling away during that time making a fortune °v°
Thought on why the card clips at 41:00
Since the card dominates your focus as the scene starts, they have his fingers clip so that your eye can stay on the card; which is the focus of the scene.
A neat little detail, the way TF hangs is very similar to the tarot card "Hanged man"
The tentacule thing is a one eyed octopus, it was mentioned on graves and tf latest story
i think the thing about MF and Graves never hitting each other isn't necessarily because of the genre/medium.
Hi skyen, i was waiting for your video seen yesterday, i love it. I saw all the others videos. Keep with the good work.
Hey, thanks!
42:50 WE'VE BEEN FOUND OUT! EVERYONE SCATTER!
"no shirimian cinematic bc targon is the only one confirmed" ok, i have more time to make animated gif of my persona going absolutely nuts and doing orangejustice to release as a reaction when shurima finally comes out
Huge Road to El-Dorado vibes here. The best vibes
"Tobias and dear old Graves" my man
Canon now
Also, if you noticed, when TF gets his card back from Graves, the shot is still going in and out, like the momentum of the rope from when MF kicked TF. Very cool but small detail
That intro was soooooo priceles. Very Nice!
You can see TF's hat in the beginning when the camera pans out. It's over a chair on the lower left
Oho! Future Skyen came from DS to help RuneterraSkyen. What a helpfull and selfless individual. He helps all the diffenrent skyens. What a great insite in the skyen multiverse.
They are finally canon!!! :D
oh man i just found you and i am just delighted by your wit and humor, i cant wait to watch the rest of your stuff
there's also this nice camera effect when tf is catching the card, the background zooms out and tf zooms in, having this cool visuals like that of doctor strange :D
they should make a Fated Abraham skin, cause TF in this animation looks like Abraham Lincoln XD
or President Fate
I will never look the same at animations again - thanks, really like your content :D
Love what u did with graves's entry TB
I'm not even a minute in and I already LOVE IT!
I loved the little AMV/Edit you did at the beginning haha.
also I love how twisted fate reacts to grave's overreacting
he knows what she is up to in a way thats why he simply "throws" question away "well we share I am not gonna fight over it" and graves starts a fight despite of that and he is like "ARE YOU THAT DUMB WE ARE WORKING WE CAN DO THIS LATER" and after some time he insists so much he loses focus from miss fortune from annoyence
and you can see that you too mentioned he is still pointing gun to her UNTIL he is too much annoyed making sure graves shut up is his priority
by the way another thing with fortune: She can be flirty too... when she is honest she flirsts literlly like this so you can actually see how good liar she is
because what makes you liar isnt "oh hey this guy is telling me this"
no... what makes you good liar if your body language consistently doing same thing under same events despite saying lie or not
she will do , say same things, literally.
that makes you good liar . She is not acting, she is literally flirting with them BUT she doesnt want to flirt
she lies so good she is doing it!
I would like to point out that the flames that burst out of the red card after Miss Fortune shuffles them appear in a spinning, circular pattern, which may or may not be a reference to how the red card works in the game.
Once MF is cornered by TF and Graves, she goes from "fuck you" eyes to "fuck you" eyes.
Also the way Graves knows how to throw cards is a fun touch of how well he works with his boyfriend :)
Sarah's hair looks so fucking good tho, am i the only one?
Sarah and TF both. Maybe they use the same product?
I agree with everything you pointed out about them not aiming correctly BUT graves doesn't actually want to hurt people if it's not necessary. The phrase in his bio literally says “We’re here for your gold, not your heads… so don’t nobody decide to be a hero.”.
i dunno if its been said yet- but i think the reason why they made graves kinda clip behind tf's card on the floor is to keep the card readable in the scene? like if graves' hand was in front of it, it'd be harder to see exactly what he was grabbing? idk, just a guess.
One of my favorite things in this short is that it example how smart MF is
She shuffles the two halves of the deck together, like TF and Graves
Truthfully if you don't love tf and graves together, you have no eyes or ears
