I seriously appreciate you guys and all you do. I thoroughly enjoy how you guys focus on topics and ideas that interest you. You guys are a breath of new and fresh air in Magic. Thanks for all you do!
Congrats on the 1st year down! Great job! My favorite set was Foundations as well such a fun set and a great throwback to classic magic. Favorite card was Sire of 7 Deaths haha such a stupid broken card. Overall you guys are doing great, keep it up!
Hell ya brothers! Didn't know you were such a young channel. Much love you're doing great! If you're looking for areas of improvement for the new year I would work on cleaner audio. But again you guys are doing great
The problem with Trouble in Pairs is that it's a one card engine. In fact, there is no engine. It's a wheel that spins automatically and requires nothing else from its owner. Engines should be rewarded -- but not single card engines.
Ok, *super* embarrassing question for Spencer - do you have a printer at home to make all those lovely proxies? You said a deck cost you $2 and my jaw dropped because I've always ordered mine from Etsy, which, as you can imagine, would add up pretty quickly if I was buying more than a couple cards. And it wasn't until seeing your (again, VERY nicely made!) proxy decks that it dawned on me that maybe I could just get a printer and the right cardstock and make them myself. Any tips on how an amateur can get started on that?
Great question! I should clarify, those proxies did not cost $2... Those all came in an order of about 400 cards and cost me $116 total for 3 commander decks and some additional cEDH staples. It was an order from makeplayingcards.com, and you can find guides for proxies all over, and the r/mpcproxies Reddit has great info on how to do that (plus there are youtube videos around that explain the process). However, when I typically proxy for non-tournament play, I just order 13x19 poster board from a local print shop. Each poster fits 25 cards ands it's about $0.44 per poster, so a commander deck is usually around $2. This is honestly the route I would recommend to most people that want to proxy and want them to look pretty legit (in sleeves). You can probably get similar quality from FedEx or other stores that will print for you... you'll just need to test until you get a weight of cardstock that you like. Then, I use a guillotine paper cutter to cut out the cards, and have a corner punch to round the corners of my proxies :)
