    Saw this and was like "wtf I missed a new game?" and was excited, started reading the description and was disappointed and irrationally angry 'cause it was homemade stuff, thought I'd give it a chance anyways since wow who makes an entire OST themselves, listened fully through and dang mate, I'm thoroughly impressed! You totally nailed the Shadowrun feeling, incredbily well made, mad respect to you, great work!

      Haha! Same here. I thought maybe I missed a new one after Shadowrun: Hong Kong.

      @@yujunkonarukami I think they only had permission to make 3 games before the IP renewal cost to much.

      @@Mistwolfssthat's a huge shame. I would've never gotten into shadowrun if it weren't for those games. Harebrained really should be given a hefty discount for their excellent work.

    Just discovering this now. Honestly, I feel like you did a fantastic job with it!
    1) You recognized that it needed to be wordless as most game/background soundtracks should be.
    2) Most of the sounds here are very non-intrusive. Again, perfect for a background track!
    3) Each track seems to evoke a feeling of some sort.
    Don't be down on yourself. You did good work here!

      For real... I think at this point everyone knows that when it comes to creative projects, it's important to just get started even though your first attempts are likely gonna suck. The point is you get better over time.
      This, though, does not in fact suck. If it's truly one of the poster's first tries at music, his potential is amazing.

    As a fellow nerd who wants to try to stream his games with a bunch of friends, thank you for this music. This is amazing, and frankly I feel the only way this could be better is if it were actually made by the Shadowrun series of videogames' composers.

    Man I have to say. My GM plays music for us during our Shadowrun Sessions. And when he put on this soundtrack I was like. WOW This Is Really Good. Truly fantastic, there were a couple moments I was thrown off during the game because of the sound track being so perfect for Shadowrun and well done.

    "Chrome recoil" is amazing btw, especially the beggining switching between left and right side of my headphones. And you say you did that because of boredom? Man you should design more tracks and start making money out of it

    How do you feel after that creative surge and what were the aftermaths of it? :) How long did it take you to compose and produce the entire 90 minutes if you combine all project times? Including the time it took to find the right sounds and plugins.

    • @Adzyman1
      @Adzyman1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you so much for asking dude! I'll happily talk about it!
      Right after, it was that feeling of... "Aw, I want to keep going, but it's done". Long term afterwards though, it's just good to know that my musical ability can adapt to something waaaay out of my usual instruments and genre (which is bass and heavy metal).
      It only took me about... two months? But that was over lockdown, where I had nothing but time. And I was in a fury of just waking up and experimenting with different sounds and mixing and matching until something worked all day long. The actual composition of them wasn't a hard process. The synths were poly synths, meaning you pressed one note, and it came out with a whole cavalcade of sounds at the tempo of the track. That made picking a 'base line' real easy, cause I'd just mess around with setting and set ups until something made me go "Oooo, that's interesting" and then I'd build up from there. Usually with more poly synths. Once I'd got that starting base, each song only took maybe... a day or two to actually compose. Inspiration hit and I just knew what would fit well.
      The synths themselves were actually, for the most part, the default ones that came with cubase. For being default, they had some good sounds in there. There was one called Viking Synth which did get used a fair bit. And the drumkit was a glitch kit.
      Aaaand... that's honestly about it. A copy of cubase, a fury of inspiration and experimentation, and all the spare time of lockdown to do it. Viola, a Shadowrun soundtrack

    • @Khunvyel
      @Khunvyel 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Adzyman1 Cubase is great for midi-laden stuff :) I use it myself with all those virtual instruments I slap onto my songs, and the presets and included synths are quite varied. I'm still sitting on 9.5 artist because I don't see the need to upgrade because so far none of the changelogs have given me a real reason to do a hard upgrade. And I think I still have one upgrade cycle available to get it for cheaper. Although I despise their "upgrade path" that works like a clock and their lack of support for older products, any version that is not elements is decent.
      Which version did you use? Did you use it from your previous music endeavors or did you decide to upgrade for this occasion?
      Ah yes, the beauty of "automated arpeggios". Press button, get riff :D And there is no shame in it. Especially not when one messes around with the keys until something comes out that it halfway decent, and then manually shaping the notes. If Jason Richardson can do it with Tendinitis, then what is there to judge, really :D It also does lend itself to the kind of electronic music though.
      With my electronic things I am usually way too harsh and overly critical because I want them to feel unique, so it not only requires me to mess around with sounds and push them through extra processing but also retain a manual crafting on the composition itself. Infected Mushroom and Celldweller are my go-to Hybrid examples for having standout electronic sounds and riffs as well as blending them with guitars and more band-esque elements.
