Rode several miles with Claire in last years long voyage. Don't let her fool you, she`s fast. She also saved me from bonking around 200 miles and I owe her some pop tarts.
This will be my first year doing this one, but it looks like itll be a blast. Granted 150 miles in the heat is definitely more in the type 2 fun category, but thats what gravel cyclists seem to specialize in.
Nice to see this one. It's too bad the pros and the big brands had to take a format that worked and make so many events less about the riding, and more about competing with resources.
It’s a fantastic event. Really well run, everyone is super friendly and glad you’re there. Don’t underestimate how hard it is though. 150 mi with something like 11,000 ft of climbing. I’ve done it with 35’s, 38’s or 40’s are better.
They've grown significantly in the last 5yrs. Buying up little stations that were less than awesome. GW's has traditionally gone through the smallest of towns around the perimeter of Lincoln. So it was all mom & pop places. Also cool....but Casey's is definitely S tier.
Iowa has great gravel! I was so disappointed that the closest Iowa gravel race to me in Glenwood went to a girls only format. Hoping to hit some Iowa races next year!
@@goldenretriever6261 it might be in the upper 80s, but Lincoln is also east of the 100th meridian so it could also be humid too. Not Mississippi humid, but potentially humid and hot and you saw the lack of trees in the video so there won’t be much shade to keep things cool either.
Gravel World's? Does the winner get a rainbow jersey? Oh wait, that's in Flanders so WTF? Is it like the MLB "World Series" contested only by baseball teams from North America?
So here I was @BenDelaney thinking that we'd get a great preview of the 2024 UCI Gravel World Championships in Belgium, but instead it's some other event trying to "pretend" to be the Gravel World Championship in the USA. Very disappointed.
It's hard to read tone in text, so I can't tell if you're being sarcastic. Gravel Worlds has been going since well before the UCI was even aware of gravel, much less considering putting on a worlds. The name was a playful dig at taking things too seriously. Check it at 18:52 Cheers.
@@TheRidewithBenDelaney Thanks for getting back Ben. I had been looking for footage of the UCI Gravel Worlds course for 2024 and stumbled across your video. Hadn't heard of the "Gravel Worlds" event in the USA before and thought it was a dig at the UCI more than anything given that gravel is so big in the states but little UCI involvement. All good mate, keep up the grate videos and pod casts.
@@gravelworlds Would love to if I could marry it with Leadville. It's a long way from Oz so would want to maximise🙂 And if you qualify for UCI Gravel Worlds in 2026 in Oz I have a spare bed for you.

She's incredible!
Glad I was standing next to you at UNBOUND when you made the coordination for this video. Great buddy video
Thank you so much Ben!! So stoked to have you here in Lincoln for race day!
I am still new to Gravel Riding but I think I will try this next year
Great place to start. Super friendly folks.
We'd absolutely love to have you here!
Ive done this three years, heading back for 4th, a great event to drive too, awesome crowd, and cool people
Stoked to have you back!! Thank you so much for the support!!
Great video......Lincoln looks like a nice city!
That sounds like a fun bunch of people and a great ride....

Okay! You’ve talked me into it!👍
Haha, nice! See you out there.
See ya soon!
Good video about a very good event, one of the best actually !
Thanks for the love! Hope to have you back sooner than later!
How can there have never been a Casey’s on route before? Casey’s makes the plains awesome to ride across. S-tier gas station pizza for sure.

Most gawdawful pizza-like substance I've ever eaten. YUUUUUCCCCKKKKKK!
We need to get you to come visit Iowa as well. Good stuff over here across the river... Iowa Gravel Series has a bunch of fun

@@adamgengenbach8183 Don't be disappointed, come help us put on a great race for these amazing women! Come cheer them on! 😎
If they had a "Gravel Worlds" Jersey, I'd do it..................why not??? A fraction of the cost of UNBOUND...
We do. Each age group and bike category has a world champ Jersey.
Thought that was Kid Rock in the thumbnail
Thanks? 😂😂😂
What are temperatures like?
Hot. I was in Lincoln a couple weeks ago and it was in the upper 90’s.

Average high is about 86 with average low around 65. Usually dry weather but humid air. Hope to see you here!!

Jist imagine if they paved all these roads, would be a heaven of rolling beautiful tarmac
Sounds horrible…. 😉

Having just done Oregon Gravel Grinder , this coarse looks to have much less technical parts . I think I need to add it to my list of todos.😃🚵♀️
