Holy sh*t! I was there at the start. I never dreamed I’d be able to rewatch in race footage! I predict I’ll watch this 50 times! Thank you so much for posting! What a gift.
Thanks for posting. This is my go to video to watch while doing long intervals on the trainer. I rode the 200 with the unwashed masses but would have to run this at 2/3 speed to match my 'race' pace.
awesome ride! watched it all in a few indoor bike sessions. don't you love that sound at the end with the Garmin head unit indicating the ride is done.
@@thedronescene7474 I run an external battery pack for 2/3hour races. That has to be a massive battery pack, not to mention the size of the memory card
WOW! Great video of the sufferage! There was a segment of Eskridge-Alma where some dude was working on something on the left of the road. Lots of debris all over the road, as well. I suggest looking at time stamp 1:54:44. I suggest the moto rider hit the hole on the left of the road, went b-hole over teakettle and lost his load all over the course. Must've been a crashed moto rider who was leading the race? Hope he has recovered!
Maxxis Ramblers + Orange Seal! Definitely a good tire for this rugged course, but I opted for a narrower tire due to mud the day before and I should have stuck with the wide tires Only one flat, that happened about 40km from the finish, after our group hit a rock on a descent. Don’t think anything would have held up after hitting that brick unfortunately
came here to see what unbound gravel actually looks like after seeing all the hate about the gravel world championships. But I gotta say that although it was 50% paved, the sections which were not paved were actually more interesting than this. They were actually tighter and had way more corners that you had to account for. Is it a gravel race as in, you ride 200 miles over just gravel roads? No. But it is one where you need quite a lot more technical skill than just being able to ride over rough gravel for long times.
Very Nice Ride Justin! GREAT footage from inside the madness that is UNBOUND Gravel 🍻 🎉 🚀

More than happy to do it, hope you enjoy and I'll have plenty more race footage from different events later this season. Thank you!!
Just had to offer kudos on your dedication to on-bike footage via a big ass battery: love your work!
Thank you, I appreciate it big time and I am excited to be able to showcase a unique perspective! Plenty more to come later this season!
Incredible footage for 9 hours 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾. You are a legend for this. Incredible
Crazy how dirty the lens gets by the end and you can hear the grinding of the drivetrains. This is the most awesome racing ever.
One minute in and this is an instant subscribe!
Thank you!

The spirit of gravel .... definitely spirited!
Holy cow!! 10hrs of footage!!!
Super cool! Thanks for sharing! My son Mark Myles was with with you alot of the race. Keep killing it!
I heard that Mark dude was fast and his dad is super chill for an old guy! 😂
Happy to do it! Mark was rippppping out there, hope to catch y’all at the next one!
The jockeying for position is insane! With the speed that they're running 💥💥💥
Hectic start. That one guy almost took Lachlan out at 3:55.
I’m Wachter the entire video and don’t even get boring for a minute awesome job congratulations
Thank you!!
Damn, 10 hours, superb effort

Great job!!
Ridiculous speeds and skills. Killer result! Thanks for sharing.
great video man!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Dizzle sent me. Subbed! Awesome footage!
Thank you, and thank you for swinging by my channel and the sub! More to come later with a lot more racing later this year!
@@JustinMcQuerryLooking forward to it! Good luck out there! I live close to MidSouth, so if you do that one I’ll see you there.
Great coverage. Thanks!
GOAT!
brutal
If that's what you gotta do for 53rd, what the hell have you got to do to win the thing?? Nice going Justin!
Pedal faster.
how the hell did you pull this off?! That action cam has one hell of a battery
Came to ask this, must have a big external battery pack!
Battery pack strapped to the top tube. That is how I used to do it.

A 512gb sd card and a little hack/bodge on the camera setup 😉
Taking notes for ultras lol
Tight tight good job dude
respect
Thanks!
This is brilliant! So great!!
Thank you!!! Can’t wait for the next one, plenty more footage coming later this season!!

great vid, thank you, what tires and sealant did you utilize, and were you happy with your choices; did you flat at all or have any mechanicals?

@@JustinMcQuerry Cool what size Ramblers? My Grevil came with 40mm Ramblers....Thanks great work!
@@Hokum48 I ran 40's on race day, but had 45's on that I should have kept on!

All in race footage is crazy! Way to stay in the race. How did you record so much for so long? What camera, battery and storage?
GoPro Hero 8 with a 512gb sd card and a little hack/bodge on the battery setup 😉
QUESTION: with which camera did you record the competition? How did you manage to record the 9 hours? I can hardly record an hour with my GOPRO 10.
Logistics question I’ve wondered. On these pro groups with pit crew style aid stops and constantly going full gas when and how do you pee?
I didn’t have to go during the race, but several riders who did just sat at the back of the group and went while riding. Tricky on a course like this!
@@JustinMcQuerry thanks for answering! That's one skill my neighbors probably wouldn't like me practicing around the block.
If you watch closely, you can see riders in the footage peeing on the move.
What is the beeping? Speed, power or something else?
Plus I absolutely love this perspective
Thank you! Beeping is purely for directions, just a reminder we’ve got a turn coming up
@@JustinMcQuerry makes sense. At that speed I could see how that would be valuable. Congrats on getting through this race
Obviously not a Garmin user...
@@jmins-o4docsocal nope. Garmin all the way. Just old and slow.

What kind of camera do you use to record 9 hours of footage? Did you have to change batteries?

Tip for next race: use an overlay for the speedometer
You’d still be waiting for that video to export, 10ths of footage doesn’t process quickly on my toaster level computer!
How did you record this?
a very crude camera hack 😉
Зимой под станок пойдёт, гляну в январе ;)
💯💥WOW!!!!💥 💯
Were you taking lots of rocks to the shins?
Shins, arms, hands, face - still have a bit of a black eye 4 days after!
@@JustinMcQuerry ouch. welp, next year you'll have to go off the front and stay there. ;)
1:32:55 I always wondered how people handled having to go pee, since they barely stop at aid stations. Now I know.
Is it just me or does it seem like a lot of people are using mountain bike size tires? Ginormous but probably necessary 😂
Bigger = faster on the chunk of the north course!
💪💪💪👏👏👏
I feel like people should be wearing filtered masks. Breathing in all that sand.
