- I went to a Japanese Hair Salon with SUPER CURLY HAIR! 👍🏽or 👎🏽? | After living in Tokyo for over a year, I FINALLY decided to try getting my CURLY hair done in Tokyo, Japan for the first time ever! I got my hair cut, dyed, and straightened at a Japanese Salon, Number 76, along with a CRAZY ultrasonic iron treatment. I also spoke in Japanese the whole time, but they can speak English as well! Lol Asia is a continent more diverse than Africa and Europe put together. People just assume due to ignorance and racism that ALL ASIANS has dead straight hair. No. Hair straightening is the norm tho a perm are more normal in places like Korea, and Japan. While here in Europe where I live, except not Russia and certain Eastern Europeans countries, it’s seen as old fashioned and dated. I’m a hairdresser (and MUA), and the problem is that most people don’t learn about different hair textures in school because the majority of the demographic doesn’t have that hair texture/type. They even struggle with Asian and dark hair in general, black hair they won’t even touch unless experienced. Also most minority groups go to their own salons. All my friends has curly to even poofy hair, and they are Asian. Of course they always straighten it.

@@omegathornton1671 they probably didn't want to get too close to the scalp just to avoid possibly frying off your entire strand of hair and to avoid burning your scrap.

Whew a big improvement since the early to mid 2000s. I grew up in Japan and they use to jack my shit up. 🤣🤣 I did have this Japanese chick, Akiko, who use to slay my braids! Sis was a beast!

I am in China and a Chinese guys did my friend's hair which is a good 14inch 4C. so length and super tight curls but he did it perfectly, gently and the treatment was so good. it's funny considering how we hardly have black people in my city
There are some Japanese people with textured hair, not as textured as hers, and so some salons already have some experience with non straight hair

I like it.. they made her roots a more natural tone and it matches her skin tone. Really pretty 😍
Not exactly what happened. They just didn't get the roots light enough. lol. it's just that her length was lighter already so when they bleached that again it went to a platinum shade whereas the roots were still a brassy yellow. Then they put the same toner on her whole head despite the roots not being light enough for that toner so it didn't take at the roots. Truthfully the colors clash. She's got warm toned roots and cool toned length. You should try to stay within the same tone. You can have lighter and darker shades but they should be in the same tone. so they should have used a separate cool based toner on her roots that was for a darker blonde. That way the depth would be deeper but the tone would be the same.
It still looks good.. they did a good job Japan got way more advanced equipment

@@jamielburriola No they don't. USA is way behind. Japan has a hair treatment tools like ultrasonic vibration straightener that doesn't produce heat and it makes your hair healthy and shiny.

Her hair isn’t dry. She had some dead ends but that’s to be expected considering how long ago her last cut was. Her hair is very healthy considering she bleaches. I loved the finished look.

It really amazes me how many people be working on 1 person’s hair in some of these countries..I only have 1 stylists working on my hair.

I think the overall color came out really pretty, but am I the only one who thought the shadow root color was a little yellow? Overall it looks great though and this girl is SUPER PRETTY! Girl could be a model! 👏🏻

Definitely the new growth of the hair is more brassy than the rest of it. The new growth didn't lift to the exact as the rest of the strand most likely due to the dark color. Some purple conditioner can help alleviate the issue though and next time when she goes in, they'll be able to fix it entirely.
Yea but that’s totally expected, one sitting service not gonna match multiple sittings to match the rest of the hair.

@@ariannaguzman9498 One sitting can usually match it depending on the products used and the heat from the scalp/foils/dryer all used in combination. Her root was a bit more grown out than is recommended for that high lift but it wasn't SUPER off either.
The hair color looks perfect against your skin complexion. They did a great job.

If we stopped being like this and just acknowledged our differences, accepting the fact that everyone's different, we would be less... different.
Asians have different eyelids due to the conditions of the terrain, Africans have darker skin tones because it's more protective in zones with a lot of sun exposure.

@adawd adwdaw I’m Japanese myself and I haven’t seen “many” Japanese who have brown skin. Like I wrote, some people can be darker by getting tanned. My original skin tone is as light as my Caucasian husband, but I have more melanin than he does, so I can be darker on the beach while his skin just gets reddish and burnt.😖
However, in Southern islands such as Okinawa, the climate is subtropics and people tend to have darker skin tone than those in Northern Japan where tons of snowfall block sunlight in winter.

I think what helps is they understood that yeah, you have different hair, and it must be handled differently. A lot of salons in the states just try to treat super curly hair like normal and it doesn’t work.
