A full episode striaght from GH's Iron Mountain.. With Clapboards!
Jeff tells Steve, Audrey & Anne that he is going to transfer Heather into a state institution. Mrs. grant wants Heather to remain at Pine Circle. Rick & Lesley commisorate in disbelief over their daughter's latest crisis. Lee eloquently pleads Scotty's case to the judge. Luke enters through the back door of his office to collect his get away money. Richard is holding his exercise class in the main disco. Luke listens in to the solemn coversations about his presumed death. Lt. Stoddard arrives with a search warrant. Luke is forced to bail out before he can get everything he came for. Rick calls the police about Laura's disappearance. Considering Laura's history of running away, they're not too concerned. Jeff breaks the news to Mrs. Grant about moving Heather. Luke returns to the motel and discovers that Luara is gone. And so is the little black book.

I think you all have to remember that Laura is still a teenager here. She's going to do teenager things, like appear selfish when she doesn't intervene in Scotty's hearing or when she won't give Luke the bed to sleep in. But she's not horrible. Now Carly--THAT'S a horrible shrew woman! lol!

Laura was confused indecisive and a bit naive as she was from the start. Carly was vengeful from day one. She seduced Tony to get back at Bobbie period lol.

If I was Lesley, I would be wondering if Scotty's version of events was true; I would be wondering if Scotty hadn't done something horrible to Laura and dumped her body somewhere. As a mother, that's where my mind would be going....
My mind would be there,too. I totally wouldn’t believe Scotty.
Especially after how he went after Luke. Scott had a history of impulsive violence after all

They'll both be dumped by Alan Quartermaine? They'll both be accused of having given birth to twins after the fact, then cleared of the accusation? They'll both find important notes that their husbands left them? Raging harpy Alice Grant will gun them down?
I forgot that Scotty was arraigned for Luke's "murder" when Luke and Laura went on the run.
No wonder Scott came back to PC a bitter vengeful man. He was deeply betrayed by both Luke and Laura, and for PC to hail both as "heroes" would have deepened the wound.

To be somewhat thorough, Laura did demand that Luke step forward if it came down to his going to jail for murder, and Luke agreed he would, but it never got that far.
Isn't is about time TPTB brought back Richard Simmons to give exercise classes at the MetroCourt? (Or at the new Floating Rib)
Richard is in his 70s. He's still in good shape but I think his exercise class days are over lol. He's no Jack Lalane lol. But he's just as manic and full of life as he was back in the day.

GH did bring him back a few years ago (2015 maybe? I can’t remember). But unfortunately the writers made him into a cartoon character for some ridiculous feud with Lucy Coe.
Back in the Disco era Richard Simmons was really inspirational on GH, encouraging the characters (and indirectly the audience) to get moving

I would have locked that office door so fast,it would have made MY head spin! That safe would have been my first stop..Summer would have been a little more comfortable 😂..but not as interesting and fun.

At least Bobbie had a real passion for Scotty, she would have been a much better wife. Laura used Scott to have a safe haven from which she could peek out and then venture out safely to men she was REALLY interested in.
I dont think that's a fair assessment. Laura's problems stemmed from discovered that she was really Lesley's daughter. She was never secure from the time Lesley brought her to PC. She was bitter and confused. That's why David easily took advantage of her. She thought he really loved her and then he dumped her and she accidentally killed him. Scotty stood by her through all that I do believe she really loved him in her own insecure dysfunctional way. Laura and Scotty were one of the strongest young supercouples of the 70s.

Ultimately Laura was just too young to marry anyone-I don’t see how anyone that age can make a lifetime commitment lol!
Were you watching GH during the David Hamilton storyline? I started watching shortly after it was already over, and there seems to be no video of it on TH-cam unfortunately
Laura was a kid.She meant well.She did really love Scotty. She tried to get Scotty to move and start over many times.Tried fighting her feelings for Luke. The show noticed she didn't have that kind of chemistry with Scotty.

I'd say Scott's true colors came out when he felt wronged. He became an evil maniac. It was in him all along but it took something to trigger him letting it show.

I can't recall Bentley. Maybe if I saw clips of her it would trigger my memory unless she was on before I started watching but the name Meg does ring a bell. Was she a blonde?

+GENERALHOSPITAL MEMORIES That explains it. I didn't start watching until about 1974 when I was a teen. I didn't actually watch semi regularly until Laura was on and REALLY regularly once Luke came on board.

Interesting that by this time Tony Geary still hasn't been elevated to the short cast list.
I know everyone rightfully so praises GH during this period. She show was off the chain. But poor Todd Davis ( Bryan) was nothing more than a token on this show. He was on for a few years and never got a single true story line. All he and Bianca Fergusen ( Claudia ) did was stand in the shadows. I watched GH from 1969 until 2012 and I have to say that she show had a pretty bad record with giving actors of color air time and writing good characters for them. The bright spots didnt come until well after GH's heday. Rosalind Cash who played Mary Mae Ward in the 90s was a standout. So was Joseph C Phillips who played Justice Ward. Real Andrews who played Det. Taggert had an interesting role as Sonny's antagonist but his role was still just supporting too. Tyler Christopher was a native American and his role as Nikolas was outstanding. But the bottom line is that GH has pretty lousy track record for diversity in the cast.
Btw: Native American is an offensive term created by the US government.
Mistake in grammar, Laura does care about Scott, even though on the run with Luke and even though he brutalized her with his words.
Exactly! And we cant forget the fact that through all the temptation Laura remained faithful to her marriage vows to Scotty. She never had sex with Luke!
Calling someone a tramp is certainly bad, but it's not up there with rape.

victoria grant Laura was,not a saint. She was,flawed and that's why I am fan of hers and genie Francis and forever will be. That is totally separate from what I feel about luke. I only liked him Cause of Laura lol. I am sorry you feel this way but I for one Never said she or Luke were Saints. I love flawed characters who start off unlikable and then grow and evolve into a lovable character. That is,why I love Laura. Lol
I feel you lol. But anyone who actually knows Laura's character knows she was far from a saint. She put Rick and Lesley through pure hell and always destroyed their marriage. When Rick and Lesley found her the second time after she ran away from the Vinings she was living with a Cult Leader in a commune. That was when Genie Francis took over the role. Lesley's first husband was jealous of all the time Lesley was spending with Laura so he bribed the Vinings to move to Canada to get rid of Laura.
After Cam died in a car accident after raping and kidnapping Lesley. Lesley and Rick tracked Laura down with the help of Cam's former business partner. From that day one Laura was a selfish brat. She became a smoker, she got birth control pills from Monica and she began sleeping with Scotty. When she got jealous of Bobbie's advances toward Scotty she became easy prey for David Hamilton who seduced her to get back at Rick. When he spilled the beans and told her he was only using her she snapped and accidentally killed him. She blocked out the crime from her mind. But Lesley took the blame for it to keep her out of jail. Lesley even lied on the witness stand telling the entire world that she cheated on Rick with David to make sure she was convicted. As Lesley languished in jail Laura finally got memory back. But instead of coming forward and confessing she ran away to NYC and got mixed up with a pimp who groomed her to become a part of his stable. Luckily Jeff Webber and Bryan tracked her down and saved her.
Then she returned home and Rick forced her to confess. He realized that Laura killed David when he saw the charge on his credit card for a Greek statute of a man and woman making love. That was the same statute that everyone including Lesley thought Laura used to kill David. So Rick put 2 and 2 together. Needless to say the scandal nearly ruined all the Webber's reputation when Laura confessed and went before he Juvenile court charged with man slaughter. Lesley nearly lost her position at GH. And though Rick stood by her the whole mess ruined their sex life. That left Rick vulnerable to Monica who though she was married to Alan I believe at the time still carried a torch for Rick. She even went to visit Lesley in jail pretending to be her concerned friend. Lol. So Laura was nothing but trouble from the start lol.
I go over to SuziQ's Channel all the time to see great episodes of Luke & Laura. And does anyone know just when Robin Mattson/Heather Comes in the Scene? Is it this year? Or 81?😮
No one said they are saints. They certainly have a ton of chemistry. I like LnL this channel ,and Suszeq (sp?) Channel too
Actually when Scott was going to PCU he kindly introduced Laura to Luke. After he graduated and worked with Lee he was pretty naive while they worked on Rick/Monica deposition case. He lost his naivete the day he read Laura's letter to Luke. Scott's true colors were along the line of most naive guy in PC. It was LUKE'S true colors that came out--the night of the rape.
You'll have tons of agreement on susseq's channel btw-they all think Scott is the bad guy!
No way anyone who watched Scotty and Laura before Luke was written into the story would see Scott as the bad guy. Scotty was extremely naive and trusting. He stood by Laura throughout all the David Hamilton scandal. And he trusted Luke to take care of his underaged wife as she worked as a waitress in a night club lol. Both Laura and Luke betrayed Scott. Luke pretended to be his friend while secretly lusting for his wife. Laura , though in no way responsible for Luke's lust and his rape of her , also secretly harbored feelings for her rapist. She and Luke didnt have a physical affair BUT THEY DEFINITELY HAD A VERY INAPPROPRIATE EMOTIONAL AFFAIR DUE TO LAURA'S AGE AND THE FACT THAT SHE WAS MARRIED!
Scotty treated Laura as a child and a possession. He had a really bad, entitled attitude. Shame the rape happened because Luke treated Laura as a woman, referring to her by her maiden and married names together, in a time where married women were still referred to degradingly as "Mrs ..." Luke was only supposed to be a temporary character on the show.
@@Beatles0223 People are really hating on Scott. He tried his best to protect his young wife. As payback, she ran away with her rapist, and divorced Scott to marry Luke. I really love TG as an actor, but I don't get why so many people idolize him, and vilify Scott. Scott became very bitter and turned into a bad guy, but mainly because he'd been betrayed by his wife and Luke. And he didn't rape anyone, either.
