      I'm going to have to piggyback that and say ditto. I had been keyframing more and more in Premiere and lots of effects experimentation and after finding Notian's channel and watching a few livestreams, not only did he give me a kick in the ass to overcome my intimidation of AE but opened a whole new world of plugins and workflow tools I was oblivious too. I quite literally would not be at my skillset or knowledge base level that I'm at right now without this channel's support and guidance.

    This got me through a major jam, thank you. I had to replace a phone screen, but a previous video was already on the phone! Which meant I had to track the phone, without tracking the moving video baked into it. I struggled for a long time before finding a solution. So for any in that same situation, I made the first spline around the entirety of the phone, exactly like this video, then added a SECOND spline JUST around the moving video on the phone, which then subtracts the baked-in moving video from the overall track, then followed this tutorial and voila. THANK YOU.

    I do really appreciate all of your tutorials, so thanks for that. If I did have one minor complaint, it would be that for some of us (old dinosaur post guys) you go through them so fast! I find that I have to keep stopping and going back over and over and over..... Not the worst problem to have in the world, but sometimes it causes me to tap out early. But please, don't let that stop you from doing the amazing job that you're doing! You've managed to teach this old dog, plenty of new tricks and for that I'm very grateful!

      Easy way would just be to create a solid. Set it to be 1080x1920. Make it green (or any color really). Render out a frame png,jpg,tiff or any image. Save it to your phone. Use it for any mobile screen replacement.

    In my case, I have footage of the phone with track marks and the actor swiping the screen with their thumb. How does the workflow change for that setup? Using the steps in this video, the replaced screen would cover the actor's hand.

    • @LearnHowToEditStuff

      You would then have to rotoscope the actors hand and place it on top of the phone screen replacement

    • @jamieandrei
      @jamieandrei ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok so.. problem solved.. doesn't quite work when working with scaled footage.. my guess is that you need to work in native resolution NOT 4K scaled down to 1920x1080 for example.. this has been an adventure..

    For some reason, when I tie the Mocha tracking to my Corner Pin Comp, everything gets offset in a wacky isometric like thing. Each comp looks fine on it's own so I'm pretty baffled at what's going on here. Any insight? I'm more accustomed to doing this in Fusion.
