  • What makes a building net zero?
A rooftop completely covered by solar panels, a new facade made of bamboo and living plants that provides refuge for threatened butterfly and bird species native to Singapore, roads made from plastic waste - these are just a few features of DBS' newest net zero building at Newton.
Before the renovation, the building consumed about 845,000 kWh - the consumption of about 200 homes in Singapore - per year. Today, it's reduced energy consumption by at least 580,000kWh annually, with its remaining energy requirements met via solar energy.
From championing social enterprises to prioritising action on climate change - we are guided by our sense of responsibility to society and planet. More like an eco-warrior, less like a bank. That’s what makes us a #differentkindofbank
