Quick reminder: sketchbooks (which you probably paid money for) are here to support your need to express, experiment and practice. It supposed to serve your needs, not the other way around 🫶cheers!
yep..youtubers intend sketchbook as a portfolio.
Btw it make sense because they "sell" the sketchbook.
Thank you a few great excercises there.
overlapping is hard for me too girl! lets get better together 😤
Thank you so much for highlighting the fact that there's so much pressure within the art community to have the perfect sketchbook tour without showing the "ugly" parts / the practice it to took to get to the "perfect" sketches.
I'm so gullible, I tend to believe that people who post perfect sketchbook tours, that's all they do. They are perfect. They don't make mistakes.
When I grab a pencil and make some scribbles, I'm instantly discouraged and just push it away until next year or something. My goal right now is to try to draw something/anything at least once a day. See how long I can go for (first goal is 21 days, then 30, 60, 90).
I get stuck a lot with "what to do draw" as well when knowing that there is literally so many objects in my room I could just pick up and draw...
oh wow! i had no idea that it can affect someone so much, im so sorry to hear that!
i started learning piano from a very young age, some people even believed that i was talented,
but i knew what price i had to pay to get good (we had many annoyed neighbors and complaints😅)
so please dont let the *ugly* part discourage you :p we all have to go through that phase.
and plus the social media and scrolling, all these things are not working in favor of creatives 🥹 so i know it's really hard... i hope you get to reach your goal!
i think once you get pass that *performance anxiousness*, things will get a lot smoother.
good luck!
@@ultramarine_finest ahh.. piano my other nemesis haha! I kick myself everyday thinking back to when my mom invested so much money in trying to get me to take piano lessons and I hated every teacher I had but now as I'm 32 years old, I've been longing to learn how to play the piano for years now because I think it's so beautiful!
So once I get warmed up and good at drawing / become confident, piano is my next challenge
@@AlekkzByDzyn oh god i hated my piano teacher too!! xD i was so upset i couldnt choose my own genre or music to learn...and it took all the joy away 🥹 i still have a piano but i barely touch it these days ☹i need to make more time for that too!
@@ultramarine_finest I thought my piano teachers were way too snobby and really mean haha! I just remembered one piano teacher who would always call me out whenever I rolled my eyes at her when she said something I wasn't really interested in (I'm very auto - expressive... can be good and bad) but let's just say I have the worst poker face. Another teacher I had... she literally had a stick up her butt I swear, she was always so "prissy" and know it all (although in hindsight, I'm sure she is a professional "know it all" hahahaha).
This will help me improve my drawing skills at the speed of light.
yep i do hope so! ☺️
