Check out this demonstration of dressing a seat grinding stone, grinding the valve seat, adjusting the seat to face contact and checking for face to seat contact.
Completely unrelated to car engines, but working on a hard seated valve (hydraulics) design. This was very useful. Importantly in my case the "interface angle". Opposed to the whole potential contact surface. Just reaffirmed the direction I was going. Well explained for an engineer.
