Theres something so Innocently wholesome about Sturgis being fine with Dale but not Linkletter, like he's fine with Dale because it means he and Connie just aren't compatible, as Dale is WAY different from him. But if it were Linkletter that would just mean that Sturgis isn't good enough for her, which would hurt his sweet heart

Dr Sturgis is such a sweetheart, lol. Offbeat, but he'd have been a perfect grandfather for Sheldon. Sweet, kind, intelligent and a perfect conversation partner for him. Someone he can talk science with and bounce ideas off of who would actually understand them and be able to contribute to them. But also someone who is kind and gentle enough that he'd get along with the rest of the family and be considered a part of them, eventually. Like a kindly, doting grandfather. Something Missy and Georgie would also benefit from.
Too bad it was not meant to be, but it's nice to think about, anyhow.
