You really don't see Missy's brothers tormenting her like real brothers would do, but there is some reason she feels the need to be nasty to them on occasion. Jealousy? Even though she's a twin, she is treated like the quintessential middle child.
You know, meemaw isn't very kind or loving to her daughter. She treats her more like someone she has to put up with bc she didnt marry well and had 3 kids rather than someone she values for giving her a life that would ease the empty nest era and w whom she could share her life.
My mom always saved money on things and saved up the money. When the family really needed it she would take out her stash. If she had told my dad what was going on he would have spent the money. This way she and all of us had protection.
Sometimes I think she loved him more than Missy. Missy was to her like for talking or doing girly stafs. She maybe felt girl again when Missy was in her company but I see she loved Sheldon more than her
@@fullmoon5799I agree. I think she loves Missy but Sheldon is her favorite. She seems to have a stronger bond with him than Missy. She's not very close to Georgie. George has a right to be angry because Mary saved up her money secretly but George on the other hand pays the bills and all the money he has is considered everybody’s money while Mary’s isn’t and then she gets mad about him not supporting her being independent
Actually, I kinda understand her. Women are/were often expected to stop working in order to raise the kid, and despite all the energy it demands, they can't make money out of it. So saving money "just in case" is very much understandable. Assuming that the Young Sheldon "timeline" doesn't eventually diverge from the TBBT timeline, it's possible the reason George Jr. never paid his father is because George Sr. was already dead. George Jr. turned 19 in 1994, the same year that George Sr. dies.
The way older Sheldon narrates it though implies Georgie marries before George dies, otherwise he’d have probably mentioned how George got out of the bet.
@Christopher Bingham I’m pretty sure that they both forgot that deal by the years end. I’ve made thousands of bets with my dad that I’ve forgotten what 99% of them are
He got mad because she has money but she doesn't pay the bills.. he does.. if the woman has money she should help out too.. don't leave everything to the man... and vice versa.... but if one partner is cool with paying for everything then it's all good lol
Huh, she literally does everything else, she cooks, she cleans, she takes care of the children, makes sure that everyone is happy, she’s allowed to save money for herself. “Leave everything for the man” George literally does nothing except drink beer and watch TV
I notice it is always Mary who leaves the house when she and George have a tiff. Perhaps that is why she is so adamant about not moving when George got a better job offer in another town. She wouldn't have her mommy to run to. At this point in the series, Mary hadn't started working so the money she had hidden away wasn't really "her" money but rather family money. The amount needed for a computer back then would have gone a long way towards paying family bills.
I mean, Mary. . .you are supposed to be partners, and money being tight for the family is an ongoing hurdle that you seem to be facing. It's one thing for you and George to agree to be putting money aside for unexpected challenges, but entirely another to be setting it aside on your own for no true reason. : /
Mary does the whole works in that house including cleaning, cooking, washing etc. and I have never seen none of her children nor her husband helping her in that. I am sure that if Mary were paid for such work elsewhere, she could potentially earn more than George.
Saving money that your husband gives you and saying you can live independently and yet sleeping in your mom’s house is a very funny thing to say. I’m glad meemaw points this out.
It’s funny that how on The Big Bang Theory, they paint Mary as the better parent from what we see of her and what we were told about George. But on Young Sheldon, it’s clear that George was the better parent.
